The last couple of weeks I have had people go out of there way to help me when I have been down town. For example today at the shops I was unloading groceries into the car and this elderly man came and held the trolley for me while I put the baby in the car as he could see I was having trouble trying to hold the baby and hold the trolley there. I thought that was really nice of him. Another example was the other week when I was in Brisbane city there was a flight of stairs at the shops I had my 3 year old with me and my baby in the pram. This man came and offered to help me carry the pram up the stairs. I am overwhelmed with people's kindness at the moment, it is a great feeling to know there are some great people in this world. How about you has someone you don't know come and gave you a helping hand before?

Kiran, you are right there are some kind and humble people in this world, who help selflessly. They are always willing to help a needy person, irrespective of the fact, whether the person is known to them or not. I think those who helped you in your hour of need were really decent persons, and their deeds will always be remembered by you. One cannot forget such incidence in life and that is why we sometimes feel that life is beautiful because there are some really nice people on this earth. Once going into a market, I forgot my camera on a shop and could notice after half on hour that my camera is missing. I rushed to the various shops, which I had visited, feeling very bad. Finally, I reached at the last shop, where I got my camera, the shopkeeper was very nice, he told me that I had forgotton my camera and he could notice it once I had left. He kept it safely, thinking that I would come and take it back.

You are right, I will always remember these nice deeds these people did for me. I always try and help people whenever I can too. Lucky the shopkeeper kept your camera safe for you. Another example of people showing good deeds is, about a month ago our dog went missing. These nice people we do not know found our dog and looked after her over night, then the next day they rang the council and got our number and they came and returned our dog. I thought that was really sweet, they really went out of their way to look after our dog.

It is nice to know that there are still good people in the world around us. The news media makes it sound like everyone is evil. Last week, I was at the checkout at the grocery and had gone over my grocery budget by 10 cents. As I started to search the bottom of my purse (I'm sure I would have found some loose change there), the man behind me gave a dime to the clerk. When I thanked him, he said, "Just pass it on."

Yes I know the media loves to spread bad news, I would love a news station that would just solely televise good news and no bad news. I am sure there are alot of good deeds and more heros around that do not get acknowledged. What a nice guy giving you that 10cents to help you out. I have also had the shop keeper let me off 85 cents once she said I can come and pay her another time. So the next day I made sure I went in there and returned the money right away.

Hello kiran, I agree with you, it's amazing to know that there are really people who are that sensitive to others. When I was stuck in my trip last Feb at Minneapolis, It was my first time there so we were instructed to look for thr bus that will take us at Radisson Hotel for free accommodation. I was very hesitant to go far from the airport since I don't know anybody in the place and don't know the place itself. One guy approached me and guided me in everything that I need! I was very happy that maybe through my facial expression, he sensed that I badly needed someone to help me!Then, I made it!

I agree and I was very thankful too since that time I felt so helpless. I actually met a friend who was with me but, she can't speak good english and I can't speak also her language, so most of the time, we are just acting out what we want to say!LOL!

I was just about to say no, it has never happened to me. But then a memory just seeped in at the last minute!! I had my 2 year old with me and I was carrying loads of shopping, and as a lady passed me by she offered to carry some of my bags for me. I was quite touched by that as that has never happened to me before. It is nice to know that people helped you out with your baby, to tell you the truth I used to get really annoyed that people just used to watch me struggle. I remember one time I was pushing my pushchair when my boys were little and one of the wheels fell off. It fell over with my son in it, shopping went everywhere and I also had my other 2 year old so with me. Not ONE person helped me, they all just walked past and pretended not to notice.

I cannot believe that noone helped you, when your shopping went everywhere. That is really insensitive of people. I would have helped you for sure! Thank goodness there are some people that care, like the lady that helped carry some of your bags of shopping.

it's opposite on my experience because i do always help those people i saw that they have great loads or someone that need my help. one time i'm on shopping, on the escalator i saw a woman with her son but seems the kid afraid of the escalator, the mother was pregnant. so i draw close to them and extend my help, i got the child and the mother smiled me and also the kid, before i left them the boy wave and said bye to me. i am very happy because even in a small thing i extend my help to them.

It is lovely when others lend a helping hand without you asking. It doesn't happen much around here but I do make sure if I see someone in need, I go out of my way to help them out too.

several months ago I had bought a lot more groceries than I could easily carry on the local bus so had called a cab. the driver not only insisted on helping me carry the groceries into my apartment he refused to take his fare. I kept holding it out and he just shook his head and said have a wonderful day mama, and left. I was completely flabbergasted. What a nice cabbie and I was going to pay him.I am elderly , female, and have a bad arm. I keep meeting nice people like this.

I agree with you. Despite of all the news about lots of bad and selfish people out there, it is still nice and heartwarming to know that there are people who still stop and reach out to those who need help even in their own little ways. I hope there will be more people like that. I have a neighbor who fetch our neighbors' kids from school (like a carpool) except she doesn't charge the parents for any amount. The reason is that she works near the kids' school and with high gas prices and all, she offered to fetch the kids after work. She really helped the parents out.

That is really nice of the lady to help the parents out, carpooling is good to save money and for the environment.
