Typing responses on the page or pasting it from Word document-what do you do?

Now that I have come to this stage after 500 posts I am able to write it patiently in MS Word and then I paste it on the page. It is a great relief as far as I am concerned because I can correct it and it becomes simpler. How many of you do this? If you re within 500, how many of you look forward to this/or don’t you mind writing out the responses on the page straight?
I for one am positively thrilled about this facility now that I have crossed the 500 post mark.

Of course. This has to be typed word by word especially when we make different responses and add different comments. I make a nuber of mistakes in the use of small letters and capitals because I cannot type without looking at the key board. MS Word comes in really handy here.

i usually type straight from the page... i didn't use microsoft word to copy and paste... it just taking too much time i think... i prefer to save time and just type on the mylot page straight away and post the discussions or responses... it is much quicker that way... take care and have a nice day...

CONGRATULATIONS! Kalav.
Yes you will get to enjoy that but it isn't that fun to me though. I have always types on the page directly. However, if your server is down, it is quite helpful if you could copy the post before posting. This helps when the submission doesn't work and it feels awfully bad. I have been there...lol.

Hmm... don't mind me asking... what is the difference?
Why can't you correct it when you type it straight in myLot as opposed to in Word?
For me, I always type straight unless 2 things - (1) myLot takes forever to load up so I might just type in notepad while waiting...
or
(2) myLot is down so I type my responses to discussions which I get in my email and submit them when myLot is up.
Cheers!

I type my responses and discussions straight on the website so I would usually have typos and grammar errors which I don't mind at all. My hubby introduced to using firefox again and I am glad that it has spell check feature. I don't wanna use MS Word because it uses a lot of memory/resources and our PC is not fast. Grammar is not checked in MS Word anyway so Firefox would do now for that purpose.

I only write my replies here on the page and when I am satisfied with what I have written, I post them. It takes way too long to write it somewhere else, copy and paste it and then post it. I guess I'm the kind of person that wants to get right down to the wire and just get it done.

I realize you reached your goal and the 500 club three months ago...and belated congratulations!!! I was thrilled to reach those credits as well and appreciate the cut and paste aspect as well.
I do not cut and paste my topics from Word because Firefox has a built in spellchecker that works on Mylot. However, I have trained myself to highlight and copy EVERY time before I post ANYTHING. I refuse to risk losing content the way I have in the past whenever I do not take this precaution.
Now when Mylot times out...or boots me off for whatever reason it does I have my work saved by copying it first...and then all I do is re-load and hit copy...and VOILA...right back to where I started.
So that is my approach...thanks for the chance to share it with you.

Hi kalav56! I was also happy and excited to have that added feature when I reached my 500 mark. It made typing easier because I can copy and paste some of the researched materials in the internet that I want to share to our mylot friends. However, it is also alright for me to just type down my response or discussion straight on the page.
Take Care and God Bless! Happy Mylotting!

You have also reacted like me exactly. It is easy to share details when you have reached 500 because it makes work simpler.Even otherwise I type out lengthy responses [depending on the topic of discussion--today I wrote an extremely lengthy one for a discussion on ugly emotions and I had it first written on my MS Word.

I have often thought of doing this myself. I have reached the 500-post mark, so I can use this feature now. The spelling and grammar checking features of Word or WordPerfect will make it easier to proofread posts.

I don't think that it matters very much. I have done both, but tend to write straight onto the myLot discussions/response page mostly. From experience I know that it can be counter productive to write very lengthy pieces as people tend to scan them and not read them properly. But it is all trial and error. The main thing is that you are now able to cut and paste, and that, as you now know, is so wonderful after the hard slog to get there. Happy myLotting.

I plan to do copy and paste for a long response or the response with a lot of details.
Since, our response texts may be lost from network error.
However, for some short response I think it could be quicker if I just type in the mylot text box.

Congratulations! I wish I was able to paste my writings, because sometimes my internet breaks down and I always copy my message before I post it, and when it does, I know have to type the whole thing over...
I will have to post a lot of messages to reach 500, ut I will surely try hard because being able to paste messages is a big advantage for me as my internet often fails. :)

I love the copy/paste feature, but I still type out my responses here. Occasionally I'll use it when quoting an article or something and it is definitely useful in that regard.
Sometimes when I'm reading what I've typed here in the response box, I realize that it might sound better written a little differently, so I'll cut and/or copy and paste a phrase or sentence into a different position. That's very handy too!
