I lived in Iowa for about 2 years and I was not a happy camper. I loved living in North Carolina (cost of living is low and the environment is beautiful - mountians and beaches close by dependong where in NC you live) and New Orleans isn't too bad, but not a good place to raise a family. What kind of town are you looking for?

What's up AlbiaHawkeye. I live in KC, and there are a lot of people from Iowa here. According to each and every one of them, Iowa is the greatest place on earth. But for some reason, they all end up in Kansas City. Go figure.
If you enjoy being around Iowa nuts, then I say you should move here. You can't go wrong with a couple different The Other Place's to choose from.

I don't know what the best state is. I live in PA, but I've always wanted to live someplace warm, like in the south. Maybe once I retire I'll be like so many other "snow birds" and go to Florida. Or someplace dryer, like Arizona. Or maybe not, as I might want to live near my children. But I really don't like cold weather.

I am from Florida and I live in Pennsylvania, but the most beautiful place I have ever been is Oceanside, Ca.
