There are so many languages in the world. Do you like to learn other people's language?
It is interesting to learn other people's language. If you could speak their language in their country, you would be welcomed warmly. m
Moreover, you could easily mix with them, dissolve into their daily life, understand their culture.
When I was working in Africa and Vietam, I learnt Swahili, Malagasy, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese...I enjoyed my life very much there.

Yes. I think it would be great to speak and understand all different kinds of language so we can speak to and understand more people. The only language that I know right now, is English. I tried to learn a little bit of Spanish in junior high school, but didn't do to well with it.

I like learning new language, even if just a little bit. I like to learn different languages to say hi. So that when I have a chance to meet the foreigners, I can show it and impress them. Besides, it's a friendly attitude.
I love China

Hello curious888,
I envy you. I am not really good with languages. Most of the time it takes me so long to take action. In fact, I wish to learn Japanese, Russian and Korean. It is good if you can speak more than one language. So, can you speak Korean and Japanese fluently?

When you are in that country, you are forced to learn their language in order to mix with them, and to carry out your works. But it's fun !

Wow, I'm impressed you learned so many. I had a year of Swahili, a year of French and 3 years of Spanish, but I didn't have the opportunity to use them and now I've forgotten most of them. I want to travel and I would like to learn Japanese.

You seem to have been everywhere, but I'm pretty much in central North America, and I was once fluent in German. I wasn't interested in German, so i completely forgot almost every bit of it, but I learned a little Japanese speech and text out of curiosity.
If, in school, there was a course on Japanese writing or speech, I would have been involved in that course, but I was required to pass, at least, one foreign language course in middle school and high school, and there were only two choices, French and German. Spanish was the third choice, but it was too full to join.

I'd love to be able to learn other languages. I took 2 years of Spanish in high school and one semester in college. I am still not good at it. My husband's side of the family is fluent. My husband's first language is Spanish, yet he speaks English better than most people I know that are English only speakers.
I can understand some Spanish but I am not good at speaking it. Rolling those R's is hard for me!
