Wha'ts the first thing you do when you sit down at your computer?

What's the first thing you do when you first turn on your computer? Do you tidy up your work area or desk? Do you check emails? Do you chat with friends?
This morning, when I sat down at my computer, the first thing I did was to straighten up all the mess. Since I'm not the only one that uses my computer, often the desk area is not tidy. I can't stand a disorganized work place. And, often my computer folders are out of order or have been deleted. So, I have to make all that right, before I can get down to business.
How about you? First things, first. What do you do when you turn on the computer or sit down at your desk?

My desk is always tidy so there is no need for me to tidy it when I sit down at my computer.
Normally I just fire up the machine then on firefox.
I opened a tab for gmail and another for myLot. All set.

Hi,
I am ususally the only one who works at my computer so there is rarely any mess that is left there for me. What I typically do first every morning I come to my computer is to check my email. I will check the emails and then I will make the appropriate responses that I need to. After that I basically start work depending upon what needs to be done for the day.

Firstly, I will check online news for my country, international...
Secondly , I will check emails both from yahoo and gmail.
Thirdly, go to mylot, answers.yahoo...

HAH! Clean my desk area? You're kidding right? This is a joke? No way do I do that first thing. As I am working on my puter if I can't find something then I will clean it. I like it disorganized in my way it is. The first thing I do is check my emails doing comments and responding. Then once thats taken care of (4 hours) then I'll start a few myslef then the emails flood in again to read and respond and comment. A never ending cycle.

The first thing I do is see who else is online, especially my sister.
After that I look at my email. Then I come to mylot and look over the new discussions since I last logged in.

Check my myLot Earning.. lol.. I was just kidding. I check my mails. I usually have some New Comment Notifications or one or two Best Response notifications. Then I check what the other person has commented and by the same way check the earnings. Other than this, I check some forums and try to answer the discussions there. I also try to get the work done, like searches and stuff..

Hello, XD, the first thing I would do when I turn on the computer is to open and log-in on Yahoo messenger. And then check my email and open multiple tabs on one window. In that way I can visit and check all the sites I needed like Mylot. :D Sometimes I'll listen to music while I am working or streamed some videos I wanted to watched. XD

The very first thing i do is check the emails that i have. Then i check a few sites like myspace and livejournal to see if there is anything new on those sites.

The first thing that I do when I switch on the computer is to set all the tabs up with the pages that I want to flick through. Then I usually make a start on all the emails that I have had over night, usually that is all I get around to as there is so many of them.
My desk is currently in a terrible mess, I never seem to have anywhere to put any of the papers I get!!

Seeing I keep my desk area clear of things so I can work the first thing I do is check my e-mail and get that out of the way. Then I will check my other earning money websites to see how I did there and last but not least I come here to MyLot to do discussion here. I have done this in order for it's easiest for me this way and have been doing it for a while now it's my way of keeping myself organized.

I first put on some music.. After that it depends from day to day what I'll do. Most of the times I open my msn messenger next. When there are no friends online I usually put my status on to "Busy" and then I'll go to surf some sites like mylot, news sites, youtube, or sites with the most stupid minigames..
I'm also using my computer as background radio while I'm studying..
