vahnbeo It is definitely a pain to have hiccups, especially during important moments such as presentation or doing an activity. My method is similarto yours, except that i drink many mouths of small amount of water and keep swallowing before letting out air.

vahnbeo It is unique to individuals. For me, it depends my mood. I understand that picking up at the first ring mean that you are doing nothing. However if the caller is very important, i would normally pick them up asap so as not to delay anything.

vahnbeo It depends. Because sometimes i see the person for more than a few days still asking around for money. If the person genuinely needs money for transport to go home, i would be gladly to give him a dollar.
