Grilling: What desserts have you made on the grill?

I'll be grilling for dinner tonight and am wondering what desserts you have made on the grill? Usually I do pineapple slices and the grilling really brings out the sweetness. I've tried bananas before, splitting them down the center and filling them with chocolate chips, but I didn't care for warm bananas. What treat have you made on a grill?

I don't think I've ever done any dessert type items on the grill, but it sure does sound interesting. I was watching Paula Deen last night and she was grilling and did some things that really looked good - pizza, cabbage stuffed with bacon and barbecue sauce, and tomatoes with garlic and parmesan. I don't like tomatoes, but it looked good and easy too, so I might suggest that to my husband for when our tomatoes come in. I love pineapple, but hadn't thought about it on the grill. Might try that one too! I'll have to keep an eye on this discussion to see what else good might pop up.

The pineapple is extra good when we do it over hickory coals. By the time it gets grill marks on it, it's getting a little bit syrup-y and tastes wonderful. I'll sprinkle some coconut or macadamia pieces over it or sometimes dip it in coconut milk as I eat it. That tomato thing sounds good. I'm always looking for more veggie ideas, so I may give that a try.

Talk of that pineapple is making my mouth water. My toast with PB&J isn't quite the same right now ... Here's the recipe for the tomato: http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,1977,FOOD_9936_36844,00.html

That pineapple on the grill sounds amazing!! And I love coconut too, so that makes it even better. I've heard of grilling pineapples, mangos, and chicken together. I love the sweetness with the chicken. But that's not really a dessert. That's the best one that I know of though. Good luck!

I have wrapped apples with brown sugar and butter up in some foil (really tight) and stuck it down in the coals. After they cook up real nice, you can put them in a bowl and top them with icecream. :)

We sometimes do foil packet meal of potato, onion and whatever other veggies we want. This would be an easy dessert to make along with that meal. Great for at the campground.

at our house we've never tried any desserts on the grill. when we were at my dads house he did try the bananas with the chocolate chips too. he got the recipe out of the newspaper. it wasn't bad, it just tasted like warm bananas and chocolate lol. kind of like a banana split.

I have never heard of making desserts on the grill. I would love any recipes anyone has. That would be great because I could make dessert while I am cooking up dinner. Yummy and no heating up the house with the oven!! :D

Peaches are good on the grill. You can slice them and grill them with alittle bit of honey. You add mint to garnish. I have tried different fruits on the grill, but I think the peaches have probably turned out the best.

Thank you so much for the idea! Peaches were on sale this week, so I have lots of them and I just bought some fresh mint for a salad I'm making tonight. I'll save a bit and try the peaches this weekend.

I have yet to cook a dessert on the grill, although I think I would like to try cooking pinapple on there. I actually just learned how to cook corn on the cob on the grill. It is amazing, the way it gets all sweet. I have no doubt pinapples would be awesome.

i make a bbq party last saturday and i invited some of me and my spouse international friends. I prepared some rice puding made from rice and milk and some almond and raisin as a dessert. Our friends like it very much. I also prepared some fruit salad. I think this dessert is suitable for us here in this country and the peoples like it too.

I think the only desert I have tried grilled is pineapple and it was so good! It just sorta melted in my mouth. Some of the things mentioned in here so far sound like they are definately worth trying. Im gonna have to remember some of these deserts next time we grill out!
