I watched a pretty horrific and terrifying movie tonight called, Rogue. It is an Australian movie about a giant crocodile in Kakadu (Northern Territory- Australia) that viciosly attacks and kills these tourists that got strandard on the lake. I won't tell you too much more in case you want to see it. But the scenes on the movie were pretty gory, my stomach could not handle alot of it, my heart was racing most of the movie and i was on the edge of my seat. Slow start, but once the action started it didn't stop.
Now I am worried if I go to bed tonight too soon after watching this movie, I am going to have a nightmare, lol. I think this movie has also put me off swimming in any lakes. Think I will stay up a while longer on mylot so I can have nice thoughts before I go to bed, lol.
So have you ever had a nightmare after watching a movie?

I couldn't sleep for almost a week after watching "The Ring". It's the story of people who watch the video of a girl who's killed and then a week later her ghost kill the people who watched the video.
Well, there's a part where the girl, who's really scary, gets out of the TV, and I thought I saw a scene where she gets on an elevator (I'm not really sure what I saw, but I'm not going to check it!)
So, for the rest of the night I kept shivering and waking up my hubby cos I saw shadows in her shape!
I'm not a big scary movie fan, of course!

That movie totally freaked me out, it is probably one of the scariest movies I have ever seen. That girl did look really creepy too, the part where she came out of the tv, I was jumping and my heart was racing. If they ever have a sequel to that movie I won't be watching it again.

I did for a couple of times!LOL! Most of the time, I can see myself being part of the cast, and someone will run and chase after me to kill me..LOL, that will really end me up catching my breath when I woke up!

Now that would be scary I would hate seeing myself as part of the cast in one of these movies. Especially in the Rogue movie, I couldn't imagine being attacked by a giant croc. Hope you don't have any bad nightmares lately.

Well scary movies are one of my favorites to watch. But i rarely do it because I ALAWYS have nightmares. Even if it's just a dumb B movie about zombies. (Zombie movies are my personal fav!) I just can't seem to not have nightmares. I hope you dont have any bad dreams tonight. Although that movie did sound pretty freaky! LOL!

I luckily did not end up having nightmares about that movie, I stayed up late on mylot afterwards so I could have other thoughts in my head, lol. I will be freaked out though going in any merky waters ever again.

Lol, horror movies, suspense and thrillers all scare me. I can't watch them alone. Don't ever watch the movie "Saw" that will scare you and freak you out.

2 times in my life that has happened to me. The first time is when i wastched a movie with my dad called magic, I was about 10 or so.The movie was about a dummie who did evil things. Then, when I watched the movie the moth man i was scared and couldnt sleep. That movie was based on true events and everything. If it is true stories or happenings i usually will be scared. I made my fiance call off from work because I had a bad night, crazy? i think i was 21 at the time. He still will make fun of me to this day.

I agree with you movies based on true events are even scarier as you know it has happened in real life. Then you have nightmares thinking it has happened to you. I am sure your fiance has had nightmares too, he just hasn't admitted them, lol. I think I have seen moth man before can't remember it though luckily.

Exorcism, I remember that one, that is creepy, that gave me horrible nightmares too. Sometimes supernatural films are the worst as then you start to wonder what ghosts are around in your house. Jurassic Park, that would be scary for a 7 year old, seeing Trex.

I'm quite a scared cat myself, but in fact, the exorcism of emily rose didn't make feel bad later, cause in the end, she rests in peace. The demon is gone. My problem is when the monster can go after me like Freddy or The Ring girl!

No I don't have nightmares about horror movies. I use to always watch since I was a kid and think they were cool. They have some really creative stuff out there and some of it can actually be funny in a twisted way. The stupid horror movies are the funniest.

THis movies wasn't really a horror movie, it was more of a suspense one. The thing with Rogue it you know that things like this do happen in real life, sadly people have been attacked and killed by crocodiles. That's what frightens me the most.
I agree with you silly horror movies can be pretty funny.

I get nightmares after movies all the time. I get scred really easily from movies, even if they're not horror. I saw Jurrasic Park and Jumanji when I was in kindergarden, and even since then I have nightmares once every so often about getting trapped on an island and attacked by dinosaurs or vicious animals. I also get really really freaked out by alien movies. I saw signs and War of the Worlds recently and I have had a few alien attack/end of the world type nightmares. xD

Watching movies about animals is the worst I think as they are so unpredictable and you never know when they are going to attack. So glad we don't have dinosaurs around today then we would be living in a nightmare, lol.

Reoccuring nightmares are the worst. That would have been scary at the time for you being so young and having horrible nightmares.

Horror characters in your nightmares are really scary... it's a scary thought! Good thing I haven't experienced it... I don't want one either.

Sure I have.
Sometimes, the movie leaves such a strong impression that it will continue to linger after you switched off the TV and go to sleep.
So normally, I try to switch to a "normal" channel to get rid of the movie's image before sleeping. It helps at least a little.

thats the reason i always use to take care of the movie selection, i always try to stay away that leads to something extreme negative, becuase such movies not only create nightmares at night but nightmares in the morning will not be a surprise.:)movies always left a impression in my mind and the best way to get rid of it is to nullify its effects by good thoughts, talk and getting involved in work.

Do you know I never used to watch anything but horror movies, I think that I watched every single one out at the time. This was when it was just me and my eldest boy so it is going back some years now. But I would hire a couple out every weekend and then watch them when my little one (as he was then) was in bed.
I never had nightmares off the really good ones, but if I watched a really silly horror film then I could guarantee that I had nightmares about it. Yet I had sat and laughed at it! Strange.

i used to have nightmares after seeing horror movies when i was a child. i even cried at the middle night, scared about what i saw in the television. i think it is just normal because the mind retains the unpleasant features we see. so next time you watch horror movies, do it in daytime so you still have a lot of time not to think about it before going to bed.

I used to have nightmares when I was a kid, especially after watching the Nightmare on Elm Street movies, which was specifically about nightmares! However, I don't get them anymore - not that I know of anyway. I will, on occasion, have a hard time getting to sleep because I am so scared. I'll hear things around the house or can't get certain sounds or images out of my head. Still doesn't deter me from watching horror movies though! They're one of my favorite genres. :)
