Does your local Chinese restaurant deliver food?

What do you think? Does your local Chinese food restaurant deliver food to your door? Would you be more likely to spend more money on Chinese food if they did? Or, about the same? What's your thoughts on this? None of our local Chinese restaurants deliver food. If you want it, you have to get up and go get it. And, that's a real hassle, especially on Saturdays. But, I think they're missing out on a really big opportunity, because it's very popular in our area. We get lots of college students and tourists and I'll bet some of them would pay a fortune for Chinese take-out delivery. So, I'd definitely spend more money on Chinese food, assuming they had a few healthy dishes available. What about you?

Nowhere delivers where we live now. We live in town, but it's a tiny town, with only about 250 people. The only "restaurant" we have is a little tiny cafe. We're about twenty miles from the nearest Chinese restaurant, that I know of. There might be one north of town somewhere, but we never go that way. When we lived on base, we ordered Chinese quite often. They didn't deliver right to our door, but we could order it and then pick it up from the parking lot right outside of the gate. It saved us time, since it was about a 15 minute drive to the restaurant, and only a 2-3 minute drive to the gate. Since we live out in the middle of nowhere now, I have really started making an effort to cook a lot more of our food, and order out and buy junk food far less. It's really helped us all feel a lot healthier. Even when I was packing on the weight because of my health problems, I felt better because of the better foods we were eating.

When I first moved into the apartment I'm in now, I was so happy to see someone from a local Chinese restaurant had taped their menus on the front doors of all the residents. I'm probably the only one who was happy, but still I was glad. No one else in my family likes Chinese food, so we never had it unless it was my birthday. But this place deilivered! The minimum order had to be 10 dollars, but the food was delicious. Several months later I deliberately threw the menu away so I wouldn't be tempted to spend money on it. Now I can't remember the name, so at least I won't be tempted to spend money that way.

hi beauty... in our place, we have lots of nice chinese restaurants, but none of them deliver. but we can order for take out. so what we do is, we call the restaurant for our order, then we just pick it up at the appointed time. thank God, the nearest chinese restaurant is just across the street, and we have lots of chinese restaurants within a 300 meter radius...i am glad. lol i love chinese food. yum! good day!

My chinese restaurant loves to deliver food right to my door. Their food is delicious and it is healthy too. I am very specific about what vegetables I want included in each dish and they don't mind making it the way I like it. I would say we spend about the same amount if we get it delivered as we would if we ate at the restaurant. Although at home we order healthier meals, like steamed vegetables and chicken in oyster sauce. My mouth waters thinking about this! When we eat in the restaurant we order special dishes like crispy skinned duck and honey chicken and sizzling fillet steak because we are usually having a celebration and want to eat things out of the ordinary. Thanks, now I want chinese food!

Yup, in our area they deliver. I'm very grateful for it, because I don't drive and sometimes I just don't feel like cooking or prying my guy out of the house to go pick it up. We don't get it very often, but it's nice to know that the option is there, if I want it. The restaurant we order from is excellent and has a lot of healthier options and they're happy to customize your order. If they had online ordering, I'd be even more into it! :)

Almost all of the Chinese restaurant here deliver food to home. Personally I don't like to order for home delivery. If I am eating from outside, then I like to go to the restaurant and eat there. That feels so different. If I take the food home then I don't feel the taste and the overall satisfaction about eating the food same way.

I grew up in the country in Michigan and we couldn't even get a pizza delivered. When I moved away I was amazed at all the stuff that I could order and get delivered. Our Chinese place delivers here, a Japanese place, and lots of pizza places too. We order Chinese a couple of times a month to be delivered. General Tso chicken and Chicken and Broccoli are my favorites.

Chinese restaurants here deliver the food too, however i have come to realise that, comparing the food i get when i eat there with the same food when its delivered to my house, the difference is big. When you are there, they treat you with more respect and the food is always better. So I have never ordered delivery of chinese food at my doorstep.

Well, I live in an area that is just a take your pick of takeouts and they all deliver! I live in a small town and we have 3 Chinese takeaways that all deliver, 6 Kebab/pizza places, and an Indian takeaway too! It is ridiculous how many of them there are, whenever a new shop is done up to be opened everyone always takes a bet on whether it will be a takeaway or a hairdressers as we have loads of them too.

Yeah, and they also know our street by heart, lol. All we have to say is the first number in our address and they're like 'Oh, okay we're on it'. Hilarious. We order take out so often on the weekdays. Mostly because no one feels like cooking. Sundays are the days for nice homecooked meals.

No my local Chinese food restaurant does not deliver your food to your door, but that does not really bother me as it means I am not tempted to pay £1 for delivery when I can walk there in literally 5 minutes. I tend to ring up and place my order then walk up and collect it so I do not have to wait around.

yes I think all the Chinese food places around me deliever. It is a lot easier to call them up and have to get up and go get it. I do spend a lot more on chinese food because they do deliever and I don't have to get up and sit inside the restaurant.

No it doesn't we have like 3 around us and none deliver. Yes I would eat from them more often if they did. Taking 7 people to a restaurant is a major mission sometimes so we are most likely to order in then eat out.

We have one that delivers, but that does not affect how often I eat it. I am working really hard at portion control, and I know I will overeat Chinese food. I think it affects where some people get their Chinese food. If I am going to eat restaurant food, I want to eat it there, fresh and hot.

There are some Chinese restaurants who deliver food. Although I like Chinese food but I ate it once in a while only, maybe once in a month. I usually go to the place and eat there. I dont like the sauce they are using, too much seasoning in there.

Unfortunately they don't. The Chinese takeaway that is local has also been known for being infested with rats, so needless to say, we do not go there. Instead we either go to an all you can eat a few miles away or get a Chinese meal for two from our local supermarket.
