It just drives me nuts to see people start something and never bother cleaning up their mess. It especially bugs me in businesses or work places where someone starts something then goes home for the day leaving items strewn all over desks shelves floors etc. THEN wonders where everything got put. OR expects someone else to tidy up after them.
Its fine to leave a mess in your own home but where you are trying to serve customers darnwell cleanup after yourself!
I hate being the one expected to clean up after others...i didnt make the mess I'm tired of cleaning up after people and I take the time to clean up after myself.
Does people leaving messes/not cleaning up after themselves bug anyone else?

I can't stand when people leave a mess all over that i have to clean up. Is putting something into the trash or putting it back where you found it that difficult? My sister is a real slob. I'm so glad she moved out. She couldn't even bother to throw out an empty milk container that was all of 2 or 3 feet away. It drove me completely insane.

Yeah it really annoys me. An apartment mate of mine was 'sick' and fixed themselves something to eat. Then left their food and crumbs and everything they used on the counter and I had to clean it up. In my opinion if they could get out of bed, stand up and fix themselves food, I'm sure they could have taken the three seconds to put the knife in the sink that was two inches away and throw the paper towel in the trash which was on their way to their room.
If you're going to use it, you're going to clean up after yourself or it's going in the trash or I'm going to take it and you're not going to get it back. That's my stance on the subject.

As kids my sisters and I if we didnt clean up our toys..mom would put them in a bag and we wouldnt get them back. I found bags of toys she hid on us a few years ago and It was like ohhhh thats where my new kids on the block tape went.
If you cant care for your things...then maybe you shouldnt have them or dont need them was my moms thing.

Yes indeedd it bothers me a lotand I will tell the person
who left me her mess to clean up after herself. I worked
in a library wherewe had volunteers who sometimes started
to help; then got bored and left a cart half full of
books to be shelved for someone else to do. I talked to
the p;erson who left and had them finish their job. I was
not going to do it for them.

Yeah I've had this happen before. it was a pair of roommates that were the offending party and it drove the rest of us up the wall. We were forever having to clean up after them. Thankfully they moved a couple of weeks ago an my how things tend to remain clean and tidy. so yeah, the person your having trouble with really needs to start cleaning up after themselves and not expect everyone else to clean up after themselves.

it also bothers me a lot! i lived with two older brothers and they always ALWAYS leave their mess especially our eldest. it's like he has someone who will clean his mess for him, it's very annoying at times.
i also hate it when people at the office leave their mess especially when they used my table. i can't help it but i always keep on reminding them to clean their mess - i'm known for this... it's ok with me, i'll keep on reminding them until they realized that they should be responsible for their own things and their own mess.

I worked for a year and a half at a retail store and it was my job to go into the dressing rooms and bring out all the clothes and put them back on the right racks. You would not believe some of the things that people left in the fitting rooms. There would be a huge pile of balled up clothes that people tried on and then just left them on the floor. It mad me so mad. I am not asking for customers to put all the clothing back where it belongs but at least bring it out on a hangar. That is the polite and courteous thing to do. It definitely frustrates me when people do not clean up after themselves and expect others to do it. If they were in their own home, with no one to come behind them then I am willing to bet that they would not be as messy.

I got so tired up putting up with rude and messy people that I eventually quit and have decided that I never want to work in retail ever again.

i totally agree with you... some people are just being so inconsiderate and never think of other people... it is OK to do it in their own house... but not in the office... it is really annoying... take care and have a nice day...

Thank you for responding.
I agree to a point about it being ok in ones own house...at that point i wonder how people can feel comfortable in their own home when they have to dig a chair out of a pile of stuff to sit down. or have mystery items growing where there shouldnt be things growing.

I feel disgusted too. Why would other people messing up the workplace and would not want to clean it up themselves? Did they feel lazy to clean it? Did they like to mess up things? Or did they even hate the workplace? Well office users like me did not like our nice workplace to be messed up because not only it will not be pleasant for big boss and other office users to see, but people may end up quitting the place because the office have failed to keep the workplace a good place to work at. It must change at one day soon. Not only that.....toilets are filthy too. I've complained few times to my manager and he said he would look into it. I feel sad to those cleaners who have spent their time cleaning up the messes. Perhaps if someday those mess creators were caught then I want them to clean them up. I want to make them pay for what they have done.

I agree that when a business is messy people are less likely to take their business there. Some mess like paperwork on a desk isnt bad..it looks like someones busy working then but..other messes are unacceptable to be left laying around.
I think some people just dont care how they leave things.

I do get tired of people not doing their work, whatever it is. I feel like I am constantly retraining coworkers.

I get bugged by it but not that much. When my kids make a mess when I have just cleaned the house up. I don't like people leaving their stuffs around. I don't like too much mess and clutter around me. I try my best to keep everything in the right place if possible.

Yes, I do know how you must feel. This gets on my nerves too. Especially if I am in the same house as someone else. It bothers me, when I clean up and they don't clean behind themselves.. It is like they are doing this on purpose.. They should clean up whatever they mess up. Some people just think that we are maids. This is nasty and slack.. They think that it is funny. But it just shows how much manners that they have. It is a pity. I happens in other places.. It has to stop!

Iam a true believer that everyone should clean up after him/herself. It shows how responble and tidy you are. I hate to leave unfinished worked for others to do unless I cant do any better and I certainly do not like picking up after others. That drives me nuts.

Yes I totally agree with you on how some people just don't pick up after themselves especially at work. I am a neat person and clean up after myself at home so nothing is messy and things like food and things left on the counter I will wipe them down along w/ the table several times a day after I make something. At work I find myself wipeing the counters and throwing away people's trash they leave on the tables for it's not right and looks bad. It makes me wonder if they are like this at home as well. People at work tell me I shouldn't pick up after a bunch of pigs but it's a habit for me and whether at home or at work I will contribute to keep it tidy and neat.

Yes it does bother me. Expcially if I just cleaned an area and then someone ( who saw you cleaning) comes in and makes a new mess. I don't have a job outside of my home anymore but even at the house it is a major pet peeve. I don't mind too too much when it's one of the littler kids but the teenagers and the grown ups... I'm going to say something.
