Garlic has been proven to have beneficial effects. Garlic extract have proven to have healing effects on some of the problems such as cancer. It has also proven to have improve circulation problems, high blood pressure, digestive system disorder, and whooping cough. The only downside is the taste. It has also been reported to be good on our voice. Is there anybody here taking in garlic? Did you feel any beneficial effects.

Thank you very much!
I hope you will be of good health too.
I would like to add that sometimes bloodpressure does not react like we would like, or that is logical and normal for most. Sometimes an illness or a syndrome will make it hard for us to control. It would be wise to seek the help of a professional.

I see, perhaps there is a different reaction or different effects for each of us. However, I am glad that you have found a good alternative. Hypertension is controllable. It is just a matter of discipline most especially with the kind of food that we eat. Fatty foods as well as salty foods can cause hypertension. May you be in the best of health!

I abhor garlic like a vampire. But I admit to liking garlic bread. It's the amount I guess and the way it's cooked. I want it toasted than in soups because that way its aroma or odor is lessened.

Yes, I do think that it is such a healthy habit. The only downside with garlic is its smell and taste. But if we fry garlic it does taste great. Well, it can also lower hypertension so obviously the benefits are really substantial. I also used garlic ever time I cook foods. It enhances the taste....

I like garlic. I put it in my food when I cook. I don't know about any benefits from it.

Well, that is great. Actually garlic has a lot of beneficial effects. In fact there are various garlic supplements that are avaialable already. But then I think the fresh ones are better. The only downside is the taste. So most people take garlic supplements instead of the fresh one. But definitely for cooking, it enhances the taste in food.

I use more garlic than usual everytime I cook. And I let it sit for 15 minutes after crushing them, to "let out" its beneficial effect.I've read about this in a health magazine about garlics.
But my mother did eat some of these raw to lower her high blood pressure. And because she really can't stand the taste, she stopped doing it. And just sticked with her hypertension medicines.

my dad eats a clove a garlic every night before bed and has done this for years and is never sick. The only health problems he has had a bleed in his brain and a pacemaker put in.

He had a bleed because he is on coumidin and that thins the blood so the slightest hit to any part of the body can make a person pop a blood vessel. Yes is doing great it happened 7 years ago and has no side affects from it.thank you so much for asking.

Yes, I do agree with you, it is difficult to take it raw due to its taste. But once mixed with other foods it enhances the flavor. I have tasted some indian dishes and they do use garlic and other spices on it. It really does create a distinct good taste.

I cook with garlic, but if it were just for the health benefits, I would not take it. I use it in spaghetti sauce, with steaks, hamburgers, casseroles, etc.
However, I seem to take exception to the "you must eat --(name the food) because it is good for you," rule. It is like the same with yogurt, broccoli, etc. If they told me that a certain food was good, the first reaction would be "it must taste like Sh*t!" Oh about that voice bit! I forgot to practice my singing exercises. Thanks for reminding me.

Hahahaha, right, I agree with you. Actually I have used garlic long before I found out of its beneficial effects. Its also very good when mixed with the foods you have mentioned. I love sphagetti and of course its very nice to have garlic on it. Good luck on your voice lessons.

Hi jpso!
When chickenpox virus visited my family, I used garlic juice as cream over the infected skin area and chickenpox bade goodby after a week with very minimal skin blemishes.
Garlic is very helpful to our health.

I don't currently take garlic, but it's on my list of supplements to buy. I used to take them. I have been hearing good things about garlic for so long that I believe in its efficacy. I love the taste in food ... love to put it in my scrambled eggs. The only thing is when the garlic from the supplements start to come out of your pores. Don't like the smell, then.

Yes, the only downside to garlic is its smell. That is why I am using supplements. Though there is again some downside as you have said. Well, I think we will just have to bear this one to gain beneficial effects. Otherwise, another supplement may be suitable. Take care and thanks for the response.
