What's your opinion about Yahoo!Answers? Did that site give you a hard time?

People over there are SO abusive & hateful. They're very mean & nasty. No one wants to try to help you. They're just in it for the points. People hate others so much that you don't even have to do anything wrong, & your account gets suspended. Y!A staff does nothing about it. I already suffer depression, & they make my depression & anxiety worse.
But for some reason, I don't know why I KEEP going back there. I KNOW I'm addicted to that site, even though I hate all the bad action that's going on. I guess because I'm hungry for learning more. I'm very curious & love to learn new things.

My time on Yahoo was very short I used Answerbag and when I got fed up with the same behavior you described I checked out Yahoo. I didn't stick around long.
The hatemongers are not as vicious as they were on Answerbag but I had already burned out on that type of behavior.
Stay away from Answerbag, it's the worst. Not only is it filled with some of the most hateful, nasty people I have ever come across in my life, real or online, the staff participates in the behavior.
They cover for and protect a very small group of users they are friends with outside the bag.
The name calling, the aggressive personal attacks, the spiteful rating, the sock puppets used to gang up on people is appalling and wrong, but the staff just ignores those who asks for help.
Me, I didn't have a big problem with finding out the staff was corrupt because I had already made up my mind they were some pretty grotesque individuals by watching how they treated people publicly on the site, but a few others really got their hearts broken when they found out the staff was involved in helping those few hurt them.
One administrator is using the site as a test tube and he is allowing the abuse to see how people react to unfairness and abuse.
Wrote a little paper for the University of Hawaii about what creates a rouge user. I was unsurprised to see that he didn't mention he had manipulated the outcome of his little experiment by treating some with biased.
His worked was published in this little book and he was uber proud of himself. I wonder what his publisher and his esteemed colleagues would say if they found out that the guy and his work were fraudulent?

My GOODNESS! I didn't know that Answerbag was worse than Y!A. I used Answerbag only a few times. No one answered my questions there, so I quit using it. But yes, I don't know why I can't avoid Y!A. It's so addictive. For me, it's not addictive b/c of the points, it's addictive because more people participate there than any other Q&A site. I'm very curious & need a lot of questions answered.

People on there can be really mean. But I try and really help people. I've gotten alot of best answers from the people that ask. But yeah whenever I ask a question I ALWAYS have to say things like (mature answers only) and (please no mean comments, they aren't needed here). It usually keeps the jerks out of the way but not always. I think the site is good for helping people but bad because anyone can be on there and say whatever they want. I really think there should be more monitoring going on.

I just can't agree with you! If they were "SO ABUSIVE" they would be gone, too. No one puts up with that..
You just cannot say that NO one wants to try and help you. You just have to put the question in the right category, and EXPLAIN what you are asking! and when answering, Tell them what you know! Find a category and run with it! There is going to be these type of people Everywhere and it you run around being a victim, people are gonna run from you too!Yes, I understand you being upset... people are mean and Yes there are some people that can be real JERKS! but there are ways to break their attitudes!
....There are some categories that you just stay away from ...ya know.
and if ya want some help with getting some answers.. ASK for help. ok
The people that you see with flippant answers- stay away from. they are the trouble makers and DO NOT CARE
Just go with What ya know, and if you have some question- I think you can probably just "ask it here!"Don't let them get to you!
So why not Change your name and ID and start over and try and Have some fun!
Set personal goals, and get there.
I understand that you may have been upset after being on that site when you typed this, but realize too- it only takes one to make you believe the whole bunch is rotten. Throw them away and GO BACK!
You are entitled!

I don't like Yahoo Answers. People use that sight to anonamously spout off or put their stupidity on display. I like mylot much better. Isn't it amazing what a few cents can do for encouraging thought and manners.
