What would be the first thing You would want to see?

If you were temporarily blind from an accident or illness, and had not seen in many years, but because of modern technology you can now once again see, what would you like to open your eyes to see for the first time again,
family and friends which are the obvious answers don't count, but anything else does,
what would be that thing that you missed so much before you lost your eyesight that you would want to see again,
or perhaps it might be something that you never had a chance to see before and now you would want to see it.
I think I would like to see a prism or a rainbow full of colour.
what about you?

hon, I said,
family and friends which are the obvious answers don't count, but anything else does,
read it again,
but that is okay it is not the end of the world, it is only a discussion.

i would love to see the sunrise after many years of darkness. it somehow will give me hope and the drive to continue living now that God has given me another chance of giving brightness to other people's lives.

Hello winterose.
This is a very thought-provoking discussion about getting temporary blindness from an accident or illness. Of course, you are right about the fact that most of us would want to see family and friends the moment our vision returned.
I think I would want to see a sunrise, a sunset, and natural surroundings. I'm talking about trees, flowers, birds, and things like that. It would just be so awesome to re-discover these sights that we may now take for granted.
PearlGrace P.S. This subject is quite a propos for me as I had to get a hole in my retina lasered closed this a.m. The opthalmologist at first thought I'd experienced a retinal detachment and sent me to a retinal surgeon. He said it was a hole in my retina rather than a detachment. Anyway, it was pretty scary.

Hi winterose.
Thanks for your concern about my eye problem, a retinal hole. Yes, I am doing well. Just waiting for the eye to "clear" some. It's like I'm looking through a thin veil with that eye. And there are some floaters. I can still see and read okay. I think it will be fine and there's no reason to think I will lose my sight. The doctor thought it would take a week or so for it to clear up. But, thanks.

The Rocky Mountains. I live in Calgary and I never get sick of seeing the mountains. I will never take them for granted like so many people do. I can never get too much of the mountains. I go for a drive a lot, through the mountains. I go hiking in the mountains. There is always something and somewhere new to go or see. I couldn't handle not seeing them every day. I hope to never become blind.

I just happened to come across your discussion and I know you said family/loved ones are not considered, so the next thing I wanted to say was the ocean, and the sunrise and sunsets with all their array of natural beautiful colors, and the Autumn foliage, and rainstorms, and the wondrous waterfalls and rainbows of many colors, all of the beauty that God has created but others have mentioned these things. So the next thing that came to me was that I would like to see a 10 inside a star above my name on MyLot. Since I don't have a star, or a number this would mean to me that I would have helped someone and someone's life would have changed for the better because something I said here at MyLot. Thanks for the thought-provoking question. I believe you may have set a record for the most responses. I'm not sure, but you deserve a 10 in your star regardless. Have a wonderful day, winterose.

I didn't know about the star rating when you get to the 100th response. I was a member for 2 years but because I didn't log in for 2 months I had to start over again, and I think the rules must've changed. I appreciate you letting me know that. Thanks a lot. Wow, 200 responses, that is truly amazing. I wonder which discussion got that many. In any case, have a nice day. This was a great question.

thanks sweetie, at 100 posts you will get a star rating, you don't have far to go. No this is not a record some people have close to 200 responses, I have some that are just a little over 100 myself.

I have not seen any close to 200 but people have commented in discussions that they have seen people close to 200 and I do not know how they do it either.

I think that I would want to see a reflection of myself. I would want to know how much I had changed over the years. Do people still see me the same or am I a new person completely? Interesting question though. I would have never considered this. Hopefully I will be fortunate enough that this would never happen to me.

this is the most excellent answer!
yes, when I read your answer, I think I would also want to see a reflection of myself because we often see ourselves in the mirror when we still have the eyesight, but blind people wouldn't have idea how they have looked like!

you know what you looked like before you lost your sight. What kind of reaction do you think you get when you saw yourself older,a bit of wrinkles, some gray hair. Would you be ready for that?

for this discussion family and friends do not count because everyone will pick that and there would be no discussion so what else would you want to see?

The first thing would be family. Not to be able to see my childrens and husband's faces again would be horrible. I would love to see that the if you ask me what I would love to see. My daughter and son are such beautiful people I love looking at them. I have such a great pic of my daughter that we just took on vacation I had it made up for the front of a note book so I have it with me. In fact I will be giving one to her father in-law for fathers day.

I guess seeing anything would be great. like the new inventions. If I had not seen computers before, or TV if I went blind before TV that would be great. I also would love to see Yosemite National Park where I grew up.

What about a Word at Peace, no hunger, no more disasters, free healh care, good leaders around the word, no more abuses to Kids and elderly people, productivity by everybody, jobs for every one, vehicles without the use of gasoline. This are just a few, what about it.

Well I guess, other than family and friends, I would want to see, something we get in Ohio every once in a while, a cotton candy sky, at least that's what I call it. It's when the clouds and the sky are beautiful mixed shades of pink, blue, purple... It's beautiful, I always try to get pictues of it. Also, television, I love tv and if I was blind I don't know what I'd do.
