With the high prices of gas and airlines are you going to be able to take a vacation this year? I have not been on a vacation in over 30 years.I was thinking about taking a small one this summer, but I guess not now.How about you?

I do not plan to take the kids this year. Gas is to expensive. You can not afford to take a trip after you pay for the gas. Our family is finding fun things to do around our area.

We had already planned a month in Italy. We bought our tickets before the gas prices went up. The Euro is dropping against the US dollar for us and if that trend continues, we will be okay. We had all of our reservations set before any prices were raised, so we are okay with it. Since we will be traveling by plane (prepaid), rail (bought a month pass) and other public transport there, mostly, we are okay.

Living half the year in Canada, and the other half the year in the USA, I "vacation" simply by changing my location. This time my husband is going to come up to Ontario for a while, as I just got back from an extended stay in Arizona.

We are not going on vacation this year that I know of. We talked about taking my daughter and her boyfriend to Beach Bend Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky, but I am not sure if we will do that or not. Gas is so high. The amusement park has a failry cheap entry rate, but gas, food and a room may cost more than what we are willing to pay. If we all chipped in together, it may be possible but I am not sure yet. I have my mind too focussed on the bills right now.

haven'tbeenon vacation in years. not much of a traveler alone, that's no fun. with the gas prices like they are would think you'd have to be rich to afford a vacation . motels are sky hight, what's not??

This Saturday I will be flying to Tennessee to visit my youngest daughter ,her husband and 2 boys for 2 months. They aren't going away this year for vacation because they just purchased a new home and want to fix up their yard and do some painting. Their vacation will be spent at home but they are very excited to be able to do this. Even the boys are happy and haven't even mentioned going away. Maybe it's because they now have their own gameroom to play in. What really surprised me is the cost is less this year to fly to Nashville, Tennessee than it was last year. I thought with the price of fuel it would be more...go figure!

If you really need one, just go! There is always something to drag you when you want to do something and life is short, come on and do what you want (as long as not toooo crazy things :) ) find a place and pack your stuff and jump on the plane, then the last thing is ENJOY!!!

I don't think I will be. The last time I went on one I had a little more money than I have now, and I went with my parents, so they paid for gas. As an adult I like spending vacations with them. Who knew when I grew up I would start to think of them as friends?

That's a long time not to have taken a vacation. Lots of people are taking this summer what they call staycations. I guess I will be one of those this summer, had plans to go to Florida to visit my brother and sister but with the price of gas I've decided to stay home. I do plan to venture out one of the days I have off next week and take some pictures. Other than that I don't have too much planned to do next week when I am off from work.

The price of gas is too high, i don't think have a too far vacation is a good choice.
