Stretch Marks

I have a few stretch marks from my pregnancy, that I would like to somewhat fade. It's been ten months since I had my little one, the marks are still as purple as they were when I could finally see my thighs again. What do you use to lighten the marks? I know they will never fully dissappear, and sadly, plastic surgury is the only thing to take them away completely. I use cocoa butter lotions already, and I've gone through bottles of lotion because I use to much all the time. Any suggestions?

You could try Avon's new Stretch Mark Smoother. You can read about it on my blog called, Ozzie Reviews Avon @ http://ozzie-avon.blogspot.com It's guaranteed to help!

You may have a new customer. I need to wait until I get paid. But I am definitely going to try it! Thank you soooo much!

I'm afraid that the only thing that will really fade stretch marks--other than laser surgery--is time. Cocoa butter doesn't do anything. Stretch marks occur at the deeper layers of skin that cocoa butter can't do anything about. It's the deeper layers of skin that are damaged, not the upper layers. I've heard that there are some products that claim to reduce the sight of or completely get rid of stretch marks, but I don't believe it. Laser surgery is expensive and it hurts and it still takes time. I too have been cursed with the stretch marks but I've gotten used to them. I had two kids and I'm proud of that. Sure, they're unattractive, but I like to consider them badges of courage and honor and motherhood. I've got them and I'm trying not to be ashamed of them.

Cocoa Butter is the best thing to use. There are many lotions with cocoa butter in them.

I have 3 kids and loads of stretch marks to show because of them.I have tried grinning and bearing it for years but I really dislike having them.I tried all the cocoa butter products and nothing worked. Then I seen something in the avon book and ordered it and it really works. Its called stretch mark remover and you are suppose to use it like 3 times a day which I never do because I really dont remember to do it.I only use it like 5 times a week and it is lightning mine incredibly. You should see if you could order some,it really works great.

I still have them. My oldest is 15 and my youngest is 2. They faded over the years and then I had my daughter and they are back to red. Lotion does help. I do not think they ever go away. Like vincoffee said wear them with honor!

I have stretch marks too from having my daughter 16 years ago. They just will never go away either. I hate it. Mine are not purple now though. they did fade out over the years. I'm not sure what to use to lighten stretch marks though. I never used anything back then. I didn't know there was such a thing back then. I have heard of using cocoa butter also. I would love to have plastic surgery. My body is ruined now.

I was hoping for some good answers in this discussion! I call my stretch marks zebra stripes because that is kind of what they look like! They are dark purple too and my daughter was also born 10 months ago. The ones I had from my son seemed to fade a little but I still had them 4 years later when I got pregnant with my daughter. I am thinking I am going to research this a little more because they are also on my upper thighs now. Maybe a collagen enhancing type of lotion would help? I will have to look into it more! I did find a nice bathing suit though - the bottom of it was shorts! Perfect for hiding my zebra stripes!

i have heard that cocoa butter really helps make them fade away but i don't know...i have heard of a lot that people have tried and it hasnt owrked that is a bad thing about being pregnant and gaining weight...i do know that if you gain some of your weight back it will hide them but i dont know if you want to do that or not...other than that the only thing i have heard that will work is cocoa butter...i hope that you can find something that will really work for you i have gained weight and lost it and i know waht you mean by them...so i hope that you can find something that will work for you!

I tried the cocoa butter, but it really didn't help me. I now just wear my stretch marks like a badge of honor...lol. When I was thinner I didn't worry about them either. Hey, I earned every single one of them...lol. I hope somebody has a better suggestion than my grin and bear it.

I didnt get the joys of getting stretch marks. I had 3 kids and still no stretch marks. U put lotion on my belly when i was pregnant and i think that might be why. I didnt use cocoa butter tho i used regular baby lotion and it worked fine for me. but then again i didnt get all that big either. I have that dark mark that goes up and down where your belly button is that wont go away.. not sure how to get rid of that one.
