I have practically no problem about being home alone even at night. There were times when my husband had to go out of town required of his job and our only son was in the boarding house so I would be alone at home. During those times, my husband would insist that I call my nieces to accompany me but I would never do because I believe I can manage alone and I have nothing to be afraid about. But there are people who fear being home alone and all the more sleeping alone even if their homes are safe and secured. Are you one of them, Please share why?

No, I am not afraid being home alone in the nights. I like to be alone. You work all day, talk much, being happy and having a smile on Your face no matter what....I work as assistance nurse for geriatric care. You have to put up with a smile and talk all day long, so in the evenings and nights I rather like to be silent and just be by my self. I mostly fall a sleep early in the evenings so I never catch the night.
Why not try that, do lot of things during the day...be on the road...you will be tired and fall a sleep before You know it.

Yes, with all doors and windows locked, who can come in? So why be afraid?

I do not get the chance to be at home alone at night! Apart from if hubby goes out but then he is back at some point of the night.
When I was a single parent I used to love it, getting my son to bed and then just settling down and watching tv or reading a book. Not having to talk or be bothered with anything. Going to bed when I wanted and reading for a while and not have to worry about disturbing anyone. BLISS!
I really miss that and I really do not know why some people do not like being home alone. Being safe never entered my head, although I guess these days this is more of a worry, but then it could happen if someone was not alone anyway.

I believe some people are just living in a really non secure place, others are over-imagining and some really lacks the faith.

I am not afraid of being alone at night. I am used to being alone at home. The only problem I had was during the time I was pregnant. I was worried I will have to go to hospital all alone. Even though the neighbours mention that my house is haunted I have no fear because of my faith in God. I gave birth to my son after I return to my parents home and my friend drove me to hospital. I am glad God answer my prayers and I was not alone during that critical time.

No not at all...I actually love beign home alone at night..I think the main reasons I'm not afraid are #1 I like my solitude #2 I am beyond capable of taking care of myself and #3 I have dogs..

hi salonga. I am not afraid of being home alone. I miss it sometimes hehe. I enjoy staying home alone from time to time. There is always someone home, so when I am finally alone I feel relaxed. It's not because I don't like my family, but it's because I like to be alone from time to time.
I live with my sister and brother and my brother's girlfriend. So I have company alomost always. It is nice to stay alone for few days just to rest.
Have a nice day, jazgottt.

Hi salonga, I can understand how some people would feel that way, but if their homes are safe and secure there shouldn't be any good reason for it. We all need to learn to be comfortable with our own thoughts and solitude can be very rewarding. I was never comfortable being home alone at night until after my first wife passed away suddenly. The very thing that I thought would adversely affect me turned out to do the opposite. Blessings.

That's a blessing from adversity! All things work together for good to those who love God." I believe in that.

lately, i'm becoming extremely scared of the dark.... so when night comes, i'm not only scared of being alone in the house but also in my own room... it's a real burden since i can no longer knock on my sister's door or sneak in... sigh... now i'm left terrified and i need to leave the lights on overnight.. i know it's impractical and it may be taking a toll on my health but that's better than being panicky and nervous all night...

Unfortunately I am one of those who is afraid of being alone at night. I can't figure out why but I just can't stand it. I do enjoy being alone during the day time. However being alone at night is really not that pleasant to me, especially when I have to go to sleep. Somehow I am afraid of the supernatural things even though I am not sure whether they exist. Whenever I hear some sounds, it just make me feel scared.

With no offence, but I don't believe in religion. Thus I don't know how to do that. Maybe that's why I am so afraid of being alone at night.

Well not actually. If i've watch some horror, ghost movies or what not then the'll be this feeling of anxiety. But it's still is best to have families, friends to accompany us. But if they're not around then the net will overcome the feeling (as if)

Funny how some people love watching movies to end up being scared alone.

I'm not afraid of being home alone at night. My husband is a police officer and he has to work at night quite often. Usually, I stay at home alone, actually with my three kids (7, 5 and 1 year old kids). Yes, it is quite lonely sometimes, furthermore when all my kids have gone asleep and I can't sleep. usually, I just take a book or novel and read until I feel sleepy or I just watch TV.

As a kid I used to face this problem,I cannot stay alone,I get spooky feelings, though every corners of my house is safe and secured, but with time everything changes.I don't get scared when I am alone, but certainly I feel a bit bored. To help myself out,I listen to music.

Yes, I think I have the same feeling like you although I'm a boy.Especially in a big house without any other people at night.I don't believe ghost and know that there is nothing to be afraid, but I just can't control myself.Any minor ring can make me atwitter. You can image how difficult to fall asleep then.Maybe I have watched too many horror movies.
