Well in my company we create websites for company's, this can go from a simple website to a full database-driven website like myLot for example..
We also create administration software (vb mainly) or other software for company's, also some promotional software: like banners for example..

I have experience in C, C++ and visual basic.
Of the three i must say visual basic was easy and fun to work with.
Right now i am learning visual C++ which is tougher then above mentioned languages.

well about really don't much about animation & i don't know anything about your skills.
i can only give you my suggestion and what i think is right path for learning animation.
1) Illustrator
2) corel
2) photoshop
3) maya or 3d max or if want to learn both you can to do.
and there are many other software which are used for drawing & animation.
you must consult someone who know more about animations. I have an friend who is an animator i will consult with him. if i will find something that will be useful for you then i will let you know.
Hope this helps..

Hello there my friend. I've had Visual basic, Visual C, turbo pascal, and C++. So far I like C++ best. Visual Basic is my next choice. I'll be using and trying out more languages soon.

keep it up selece.
you must increase knowledge & skills.
if you like C++ you will also like C#. The Basics of both C++ & C# are same except the few. C# has few differences because it works on top of .Net Framework. There are lot of similarities between C++ & c#. you will find that coding style of both programming languages are almost similar.

I think it is best to remain, as much as reasonably possible, language agnostic and simply selected the best for the current task. They are after all just tools.
At the moment most of my work (back-end server stuff) is done in Java. Not as I think the language is anything special (it is just an OO language with a GC), but because it has such great third party support. Ant, JUnit, Eclipse, C**p4j, NetBeans, CheckStyle etc all make me a better and more efficient developer.
But if I has some small file scanning type task to do, I'll drop down to the shell, dig out Cygwin and write a quick and dirty AWK script and some bash hackery to get the job done, and I'll enjoy working with it. Not test driven development or user acceptance testing to please - just a to get done, and some simple tools to do it.

among the choices, i like most is C - it's the basic.
and visual basic because it's a graphical user interface and it's a drag and drop thing. the codes are very basic.
Other than the choices, I like java and php. As a computer science student, we have a lot of exercises in java and it's libraries help me a lot. Java is user-friendly for me. I like PHP because I can work on web browser application with php.

My vote goes to mighty C
then to C++.
Look anything around you (or around your desktop). Tell me something that was not implemented in C or C++, probably only a small count.
From your OS,browser to chat applications to games to your cellphone to the FW of your TV sets, etc.
