i mean, when you see an interesting item or a news in some other websites, do you copy that text and start a new discussion in mylot so that you can share it with other friends in this site? i have not started doing it as i am yet to reach 200 posts so that i will get the "power" to copy paste to discussions...
Btw, do you think it is ethical to do so?
share your thoughts and opinions please...

You are right, you can't copy paste long text if you have not reached a certain number of points in myLot. But it would be okay to discuss anything you have read from other sources, I believe that is why myLot was created to discuss any topic right. So you may post anything here and get different opinions from people of different walks of life.
What is not allowed is to copy paste responses and comments to different discussions/topics hoping to rack up points. This is the unethical way of earning money or points.

Hi,
I seldom use copy and paste function in myLot. I will type my responses word-by-word. I don't think I will use the copy and paste function because it will make my responses look like spams.
So, I type every response from the beginning until the end.

first of all, i need to correct you that you need at least 500 posts to be able to copy and paste here... not 200... and i never done that before even though i can copy and paste because i think it is cheating... if you just solely copy and paste an article from a magazine, newspaper, etc here without adding your own points and opinions, then that is what i considered as unethical and cheating as it can be considered as plagiarism to other people's work... but if you do copy and paste but you add your own points and opinions and also don't bluntly copy the whole thing, then i think it is OK... take care and have a nice day...

I do sometimes, but its very rare that I even post a discussion. Oh, and just to let you know, you get the copy and paste feature at 500 posts, not 200.
To answer your last question about the ethics of copying and pasting, it all depends. Are you just taking the story word for word and posting it, or are you adding your own opinion to the story. Are you claming the story as yours, or putting a link back to where you got the information from? The answers to these questions determine whether a person's use of the copy and paste feature is ethical, or not.

I very seldom use Copy and Paste in responding or creating a discussion, except for links or quoted remarks. May be the reason why myLot peg this at 500 is for use develop the habit of typing instead of just copying and pasting. It is also stated in the guideline as a DON'T copy others works.

Hello, Vinubaby.
I don't use the Copy and Paste thing here in myLot, because I don't think that anybody should be copying written content to earn their money. It's, in a certain way, going against the laws of Copyright. You are using what is not yours and earning money on it.
Respectfully,
Munhozmib.

I probably will use cut and paste later when I can do it. It would be great when you go to post something you can copy what you typed just in case you lose transmission when you hit the post response button. But, I hate to break the news to you but you have to wait until 500 posts until you can cut and paste. You get to use smilies at 200 posts. Happy mylotting and keep up the good work - you are almost to 200!

You need to have 500 posts in order to copy and paste. I do it sometimes, mostly with long posts, to avoid losing them, which happens sometimes if my computer screws up or my internet connection is lost. Most often though, I copy and paste for links to other sites to avoid mistakes. Even a minor mistake in typing a link makes it not work.

Of course I copy paste good ideas like poems and good things that I found from the internet but I use this power with moderation. Mylot gave us this opportunity but we should not abuse it and its a matter of being wise in using wisely and abusing it.

Hello dear vinubaby. I copy and paste when I quote a short sentence or two that I need to use, but never long passages, as I don't think that it is acceptable by mylot, namely against mylot guidelines. By the way, when you reach 500 posts, you will be entitled to the abilities of copying and pasting. Work hard to reach 500 posts, friend.

Hi,
Actually when I reached the 500 posts, I felt happy with the thought that now I can copy and paste and make long good discussions. But, I rarely used it. I think it could be used to the maximum if rightly done. I will surely use it but don't know when and how :)

I did not try it yet. But I don't think it is unethical to do that as long as your purpose is to share the news? Well, if you want to be sure, maybe you can review the guidelines and the FAQ. I am not into most news that is why I am not interested to research how to share it.. lol.
have a good day.

I can't copy and paste now after reaching certain posts I will think about it, But I am very much enjoying to type the messages maunually, manual works will give the good experience of typing and presance of mind.
