That is a tough decision to make. If your willing to live with the scare from the surgery, then go for it. I wouldn't do it for myself, but I'm not disapproving if anybody wants to do it for themselves. It's their body and they're allowed to do whatever they please with it.

I think it is a good option for people who are obese and are having trouble losing the weight. Obesity can cause some serious health problems ans I wish you luck in your weight loss journey.

I wish there was another way but like everyone else I have wasted money and tried many other diet to no avail.
This is a more definate solution.

I don't really know if I approve or not. Will it change anything or in a year will you be right back to sitting on the couch doing nothing while eating hamburgers and potato chips?
Good luck with it though. I hope it all works out for you.

We'll no, I surgery itself makes you not be able to eat fatty food because you will get sick. Also you stomach is made very small so it also makes it almost impossible to overeat because again you will get sick.
The surgery kind of makes you have to obey. I do agree however that excersize is so impartant if you have the surgery or not.

I think if it is medically necessary, then it is great. It can be a dangerous procedure. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law had it done and they both had no problems. They lost a lot of weight and look great now. I had an aunt that had it done and she had a lot of complications and ended up having to go back in for a second surgery. She's ok now and lost a lot of weight, but she really went through a lot.j
Good luck with your surgery.

If it can make you healthy by all means do it. They have a new weight loss surgery that is called lap band i think.

Yes this was not an easy decision. I thought about it over a year and talked to many people before deciding. I am lucky because a coworker had it done and I have gotten to see all his progress. In one year he lost 220 pounds already and looks so much heathier.

You don't mention which surgery you are thinking of, however I think both are excellent choices, but they need to be chosen carefully based on your own needs. I personally chose lapband and have lost 85lbs in one year. The weight loss is slower with lapband, but there are no massive physical changes to your body. Bypass style surgeries will give you much higher weight loss numbers quicker, but with many prices, massive digestive changes, and higher risks. In the long run the weight loss is approximately the same. Unless the medical need to lose a lot of weight in a short amount of time is present, I would go with lapband.
Best of luck

If it's really the last resort, then I guess I approve of it. Good luck with the procedure next year and hope that it will help you.

I don't approve or disapprove. I think it's up to that person to decide. Just like you no matter what anyone says you will continue with your surgery. I have thought about doing it after I have this baby...but that's only if I can't lose the weight on my own. I belive that sometimes It's extremely hard or someone to lose weight..like me....before I got pregnant I had lost some weight but not all that I wanted and just couldn't lose any more. Anyway GOODLUCK!!!! HOpe you LOVE your new BODY!!!

I think that if it is really necessary then you should have it done. However...I would be very careful...sometimes these surgeries can become dangerous. Make sure you have done your research....

I think if you're going to do it you must be committed to the changes in your life. My older sister had it done. She however has not maintained exercise, realized she could eat like she wasn't supposed to and therefore has begun gaining a little back. I urge you to listen to your doctor. Don't try foods you're not supposed to have. Don't even try them. Good luck it has worked for many people, my sister just didn't do like she was supposed to.:)

I think if you have a lot of weight to lose and you have tried to lose the weight dieting or whatever and it doesnt work, than sure I agree with it.
