For newer members or those that don't know this is simply my weekend discussion thread. I share my week/weekend and you can do the same. You can also be silly and see how I react... I do this too. Anyways, this as a signal of the weekend and as an outlet to unwind from things in life (and on mylot ^^). LIVE!! From the top of the newly built 65535 foot skyscraper, Zolar Dominus Hypertower, which is receiving the classic Space Fortress for docking... but unfortunately the Hyperastra fortress just crashed into the newly built Hypertower... all of this sets Pro's repair and medical costs to an astounding 21 quadrillion dollars! (Pro: Egads!!! -_-) It is...! Pro's Free-for-All Weekend!!! Welcome to the fun! How is this first week of July treating everyone? Hope the Canadian members had a good Canada Day and I hope U.S. member will have a wonderful 4th of July. Not much to really report for this weekend as the family is being clumsy with holiday planning, so I don't know if its a cookout or anything. Other than this grey area, I'll probably spend some time gaming and working on my RPG on the side. I do plan on spending some time relaxing and taking in the nights though as the weather is fantastic. So what of everyone else? Any plans for the weekend? Any travel happening or is it simply staying at home in light of (ugh) gas/transportation costs... Well if you want you can joke about that or anything else I brought up if you don't want talk about the weekend. Keep in mind, any response can be hijacked by yours truly, and then it'll be about something completely silly. I wish a happy, healthy and safe 4th of July weekend for everyone.

Happy Fourth of July Programmer me I am still fighting the shingles and am a tad uncomfortable so am going to sit around and mylot and watch the fireworkds from our patio tommorrow eveningn nothing exciting, what would be so exciting is if these darned shingles would just sort of disappear and let me get back to a normal life.

I hope you do finally get over them. Watching fireworks while mylotting sounds great! Its too bad the shows are rather limited around here. Hmm... I could always get my own and launch them for the 4th and the 7th. Maybe...

Every time I see the word shingles I think of a wood shingle on a roof being attached to your body.

AmbiePam-I am so glad you said that because I was thinking the same thing! I'm sure real shingles or wood shingles attached to your body are probably equally uncomfortable though...I wish a speedy recovery to Hatley!

Ah, I'm here for my not-so-usual-anymore bore fest, lol. You already know what's been going on with me lately, so I'll keep this to the discussion of the past week only :P Last weekend wasn't long enough, and Monday dragged like crazy. We'd had a meeting last Friday about how "some people" (really only one person) are "keeping tabs on their coworkers" among other things. The tension was so thick Monday you couldn'ta cut through it with a chainsaw. Tuesday? Whole new attitude from this person, at least towards me, anyway. I learned a lot about the business this week, and a lot about what I really want out of that job. Zooming in to Thursday...worked a 6 hour day, went to a late lunch with friends, went home and filled out the long myspace survey from hell to make one of those friends happy, then went to the park for the fireworks. It was the most amazing display I had ever seen. I had never ever been that close to the fireworks in my life. We were right under them. The music blaring from the concession area was in time with the blasts...it was really cool. Paid day off today, with no definite plans for tonight...I'm having a decent week :D How 'bout you, Gamer? how was your week?

*curiosity kicking in* How was this Monday for you? Mine was hectic and confusing and I didn't even drink over the long weekend, lol. Glad you had a good week too, btw :D

It was my birthday. I was a bit cryptic with it though. The worst part is it was a busy weekend, and the weekend after that was packed too. *grumble*

I enjoyed reading this Vis. It had its interesting moments as my workplace doesn't have tension in office, but interoffice there are some moments here and there. Hope you get enough rest this weekend. And here's to a less painful Monday! My week was just another hard work week. My time on Lot is getting more sporadic too, but I am getting discussions down, or really responses. Funny part is, I've seen the longest responses in recent days. Two of them were long enough that they needed multiple posts. Character limits for the lose eh? My 4th was decent, but I barely got to see fireworks due to rain and clouds. I nixed my plan of getting my own fireworks, and I didn't feel up to task of making homemade ones (and if anyone asks, I didn't say that last part ;p) At least this monday will be pretty good. No matter what I do, it can't go wrong. =3

hi theprogrammer... happy 4th of july as well to you... i didn't plan anything interesting for this weekend... i just want to go window shopping and have lunch outside with my hubby as usual... and then go home cook diner, watch TV and relax at home... that's about it... with the price of fuel going so high, i can't afford to travel very very far as it will cost me lots of money for the fuel... take care and have a good weekend...

Well that sounds quite nice Lingli. Kind of heartwarming spending relaxing but quality time like that. Actually I did a bit of "window shopping" of my own, but it was online and it was a computer/elecronics webpage. =P I know...I know! XD About the fuel prices, its getting rough all over, and some immediate relief is in order... heck it should have happened sooner in my opinion. Have a wonderful weekend Ling.

It is currently raining/storming here, so it looks like the fireworks plans for tonight are out of the question. That's OK with me though. I don't particularly care to drive somewhere to stand in a crowd.

Same here CB. Its been raining here too, and its a slow moving system. The whole weekend will be overcast/rainy. I can understand your sentiment on most 4th celebrations. Sometimes, a workaround is in order, like finding a decent hill or spot to see the fireworks from, instead of the dessignated area.

Hi theprogrammer, I hope you had a nice and wonderful holiday...a week to remember. Here in Kenya, it is a normal weekend and week so there is nothing much going on. Hubby and i slept all weekend without going outside the compound.......we had bought all the needfuls the day before so there was no need of going out. We started a new week on monday with work related struggles as usual. So there was nothing to celebrate for us.

So far its not turning into much to remember, but there are two special days here so anything is possible. I may just go "Do not disturb" for the rest of the weekend. Sorry about the work related struggle Kwen. Here's to hoping something does come up to celebrate about, and soon!

I just got back from surviving the insane task of running to walmart to pick up some mayonnaise. Can you tell me why at 1 PM on a holiday afternoon there were 3000 people at Walmart and all of them in the freakin check out lines!?!?! But I got the mayo unscathed. Now it is on to prepping the steaks and making the red potato salad. The ribs and chicken have been marinating since yesterday afternoon and the fresh fruit salad keeps disappearing at an alarmingly fast rate but I am also to blame for that. Keep me away from a tray of freshly cut watermelon if it is to be shared with guests. Tomorrow after I run my 10 minute mile and attend my step class I am headed to MD to attend a concert for my bachlorette party and I will also be able to consume the best sushi on the east coast for the first time in almost 2 years (thanks go the insane gas prices I no longer make my tri-yearly trip 200 miles away just for a Japanese Bagel.) Sunday I think it is safe to say I will be sleeping. So there you have it...my weekend :) And I even mentioned how much I hate gas prices. Hope your evening will be filled with fireworks...don't spend too much time on your RPG or you might miss the cook out that may or may not be happening. Happy 4th of July to you too sweetie

Cyni, you forgot the rule of "Night before Christmas"... and if said rule has gotten this bad its really discouraging. Anyways, almost no one does anything ahead of time. Always count on people to put things off until the very last moment. And finally, if you miss the deadline, just do the event as soon as possible before the day is out. Combine all of those and you get the rule "Night before Christmas", named for some people doing all their shopping on Christmas Eve (sometimes...Day) Mmmm... =3 Steaks... Red potato salad... =3 *wakes up from daydream* Okay Cyni, you know the fruit is for the guests, so why stay near it if you know you're gonna eat it!? As for the exercise... wow! O_o... you are really working hard. "Ganbatte yo!!" I hope you enjoyed the bachlorette party and the (now) rare Japanese treats. *@ your gas price remarks: Once I get the fortress and tower back up, I'll put the engineering team back on the transportation issues!!! Now the Jetpack has been covered but its more of a shot-in-the-foot issue since it runs on...fuel. The transporter, plenty of equations and laws of physics issues to resolve. But we'll work on the whole thing.* The cookout didn't happen, but thankfully a reunion is coming up for next weekend. *blush* You have a good one too Cyni! Even if the 4th wasn't as eventful as other days, I've still got the 5th, 6th and 7th.

Well...I don't speak much to my family and s/o's family forgets I exist (which is fine with me by the way), s/o will be racing all three nights and the in-laws are out at their camper by the pond so...PARTY at my house! Ok, not really. Well yes really because I'll be enjoying things without everyone around. Everyone would be more than welcome to stop by though if you all weren't out of state and out of the country. You'd have to bring your own snacks and fireworks...and drinks and chairs...and pretty much whatever else you want because I barely have enough cash on hand for a box of 12 sparklers LOL. Oh, but the boys are getting picked at some point to go eat watermelon at the pond...apparently it's boys only watermelon and it tastes better at a pond

Well, I hope you enjoy the party at your place despite the gaps in family. At least you know there's another party here on lot (usually hosted by yours truly most weekends ^^) Boys only watermelon? That's gotta be a bit of a downer. I understand the need for that sort of time and gathering, but hopefully you'll be included for the next watermelon pond event. Of course if the space fortress and technology were real I could easily solve the whole everyone is out of state and country problem. Of course as you read in this free-for-all intro, both are out of commission due to pilot and technology error... You think you have cash trouble due to sparklers, you should see the repair bill for my situation! ;p Maybe I shoulda made this response a hijack!? XD

I haven't thought about this weekend as yet to decide what I will be doing. When this happens usually its just an ordinary time for me but since you've gotten me on this trend of thought I might try to think of something special for the next two days. Not much happens in this town at this time of the year unless you're getting married which I am not.

Whatever happens, I hope you can find something and enjoy it. Even if its just doing nothing, relaxing, sleeping, as long as you enjoy it that should be good. If you want something special, I hope you think of something fitting Bluepatch. A small trip, perhaps? Maybe try out a new hobby? Brush up on an older hobby? Just throwing out ideas there! Either way, happy weekend to you.
