I love it so much and feel like I'm home...LOL!
Anyway, I am just sharing my simple happiness this afternoon!LOL!
Do you like mango shake? Do you have special ingredients for it? We are just using the simpliest one, mango, ice and milk!

When mango trees are ripe, there are hundreds of mangoes on each, so people give them away like crazy around here. I eat at least some every day in fresh form, but I freeze the rest (sliced or cubed), to be used when they're out of season. I love mangoes added to just about every sort of dish I can cook! Then, there are so many varieties, and I like to mix them to get the best qualities of each. Yummmm.

Leenie, they grow there, too! Some of the species of mangoes and avocadoes do better here in Miami, but Orlando has huge numbers of them. Try going out to the surrounding countryside. Not all those groves are for citrus fruit, especially the canker problems of the last several years. Most of the roadside stands have mangoes and avocadoes and all sorts of other wonders, at quite low prices. The search itself can be great fun. Try it!

Cobra,
You are absolutely right. I live on the far east side of Orlando, so I probably wouldn't have to go far. If I could find a good fruit stand then I could get a bunch and freeze them too. It would certainly be worth the time and effort. I'll let you know if I do. Thanks for the idea. I don't know why I didn't think of it.

Hi checapricorn,
I don't think I've had a mango shake, but I love mango, with chile and lemon and salt. It has not been that hot over here and by now we should be roasting. Your shake sound real good. Have you tried the banana shake, milk, vanilla extract, and if you like put an egg and before I forget cinnamon powder. they come out real good, a nice breakfast drink.

I love mango shake and this being mango season in India, the entire country goes wild on this exclusive summer fruit. We even call it the king of fruits. Depending on what is there in the freezer and my mood, I make mango shake with water, milk or even home-made yoghurt. The process is of course same for all. Mango shakes are tasty, nutritious and very filling, even my son has his glass in the morning before going to school.

Oh yes, mango is something like the national fruit of India. Almost each region and state has its own variety and people jokingly fight with each other espousing the qualities of their own local variety over the other varieties. We get them in all price range so everybody can gorge on them this time of the year.

I have not tried a mango shake before. But a mango I have eaten and they are good period. I know that the shake was what you may have needed at the right time and the right moment of a hot day. It was hot here, but the rain too care of the heat for today and cooled things down. That would really be something nice to try and make a mango shake. Thanks for sharing!!!!

I live in a tropical island in the Caribbean and am only now hearing about a mango shake.
Here in Trinidad we have all sorts of mango things. We even have a chain of restaurants called mangoes. But I'm only now hearing about a mango shake.
The mango I love the best is " julie " mangoes which are particularily sweet and quite large. They are supposed to be a result of grafting two other species of mangoes one of which is from West Africa.
I've been known to put down 15 of these in one sitting.

Wowww.. I missed mango shake too. I've done that before as well and i did use the same ingredients, ice, mango, milk both condensed and regular milk oh, i did put some ice cream on it. i think i added vanilla ice cream on mine and it was so great.
I also did avocado shake because that is one of my favorite shake at home. Same ingredients as above. I just change mango into avocado.
But I've learned here that most people won't eat avocado with anything sweet, they usually eat it with taco, salt, pepper, vinegar, tomatoes , etc and use it as a deep for chips.
Do you like avocados? What do you eat with eat?

That sound delcious actually. What propotions are you using? I like mango and I like shakes I think I would like this recipie. I have been in the mood for milkshakes lately. i have vanilla ice cream and I thought about mixing some of that up with milk to make a shake. i could also add some vanilla extract to make extra vanillay. A mango shake also sounds like somehting I would like to try. It sounds healthy.

Well, luckily I live in the Philippines and we have plenty of Mangoes here. It would be very easy to make a mango shake. We even have a lot of dried mangoes available. But obviously I like mango shake as well as avocado shake. Not much on recipes since I think we do the same thing, adding sugar and milk. Its definitely great.

Wow..It must be nice. I can feel it tickle down my taste bud, sweet, sour and cool. I never try before. So the next time I buy mango I definitely will do it. The weather here is hot too. And making fresh juices not only from mango, such as orange, apple, pineapple, water melon, carrots, etc, could really quench our thirst.
