I think, it would be medicine. Specialised courses in medicine would be much in demand, because Doctor-Patient ratio is still very poor in our country and elsewhere. So Specialised Doctors would be much in demand all over the world and so would be the study of medicines.

Yes which is why medical mechanics/ technicians would be in great demand. And the role of doctors would change immensely.

I feel, Technicians would use Robots to perform major operations and doctors would just monitor it..

Agreed!
But Robots cannot perform, without the watchful eyes of a specialised Doctor.

Great question. I would look at innovation and adaptability.
However having to choose between the two , I would go for innovation. Why? For the reasons that the world is changing fast. It's becoming more and more competitive.
Do things differently and think out of the box. Keep coming up with new ideas and new ways of doing things and you will be successful.

Great point there. Yes a time will come when we will run out of ideas and innovative minds would rule all the way, in every sphere.

Certainly yes, taken the dumb and mute we are increasingly getting these days. We are on computers hardly communicating with flesh and blood..!!

Hi Mimipi, Good question. In the future the most important career skill would be survival skills and to teach others to survive with no electricity and to find food and cook from scratch with the resources that are available and also to defend themselves from others trying to steal the resources they have available. Ellie :D

Hi Cupid, Hi Mimipi, No I am just saying that these survival skills may need to be taught to allow ALL not just the fittest to be able to survive, MORALS & ETHICS would still remain. Not the jungle as we as humans have compassion and understanding surely. Ellie :D

Well i think it is COMMUNICATION and UPDATION...Because we have lots of careers for a fresher..But to grow up from that you need the basic skills stated above..
UPDATION
U must be the master of your field..Technology is improving and life is changing minute to minute...You can't exist by sticking on to what you have acquired long back..We must not be reluctant to change..Always keep us updated to be fit as a
"millennium man";-)
COMMUNICATION
I should say it is an art..If you know this art you are a successful person...When man is a social being and when his success highly depends on the thoughts of other social beings,No doubt you have to be a master of this art....

I really appreciate your thoughts. Without these two we would not survive, I guess.
I was reading The Dilbert Future, where Adam Scott humorously said that the most important career skill would be lack of ethics!!
Scary, isn't it?

Yes, job ethics has lost its value for sure.....duplicity, hypocrisy, cheating, lying...all part of it. You excel it this and your are a dynamic talent!!

Oh yeah..Its really horrible..But when you observe certain events happening around, we can't deny the possibility of that orientation too...Have a great day...

Good presentation of fundamentaly sound domain skills.
Explanation;
Unless a person has really sound skills and strives for perfection in his area he cannot go futther. Just being very knowledgeable without showing your clients or your boss your expertise in your area would not lead to results. That is why I have added presentation to sound skills. One without the other cannot go a long way.

I have two things in my mind.. to concentrate hard on stock market..where it is a place we could make easy and quick money.. the risk of losing great sums is also there..
Secondly, to have a good career in online.. have a professional blog...and maintaining it..
Mostly for me the option number one ranks higher priority.
Take care and have a good day mimpi.

I think medicine would be really important. Pollution and Global warming would have caused a real frenzy of diseases.

Hi! Hmm, the most important career skill would be working with machines because as time goes on and technology is very fast moving there will be more machines than people. If the question was about today I would have to say that the most important career skill would be 'people skills' and thats interacting with real people and establishing relationships and friendships. But as with the rise of the machines, the most important skill would be managing these machines, know the ins and outs of them, how they work, and be sure that they wont overpower the real humans.

I think that anything in the area of technology will be important in the future so that's a good area to consider getting into. Of course, computer and internet technology first comes to mind but there is also medical technology, space technology, environmental technology, automobile technology and many others. The most important thing is to have special skills that are in demand.

I think the most important skill would be knowing how to adjust.Always make adjustments according to the changing environment and find the best state of oneself in order to take challenges and responsibilities.
