What kind of potatoe chips?

What is your favourite flavour of potato chips? I like pretty much all of them, but if I were to pick a favourite I think I would have to say barbeque chips are my favourite. I like to dip them in straight sour cream instead of a potato dip. I also really like dill pickle but only if they are really fresh. As soon as they are even one day old, to me, they are stale and not so good anymore. My daughter likes all the weird ones like cheddar cheese and onion and jalapeno. But I prefer the older ones like barbeque and dill and salt and vinegar and plain and ripple. How about you? What kind is your favourite or do you like them all and not have a favourite? Please share.

I pretty much like them all, but my favorite is the mesquite barbeque flavor of the kettle cooked ones made by Lay's. I will pay the extra price for them and if I don't watch myself, I can eat half a bag of them at a time. My grandsons look at me strange when I tell them that they are Nana's and I don't share those chips with anyone.

I like Lay's chips too, but not any of the kettle cooked ones because they are too hard for my teeth, as I have bad teeth in the back of my mouth. I need to get to a dentist soon, to get a couple of my root canal ones fixed as they hav pieces broken off now, and I need them capped.

I like the plain chips. But my favorite chip is Sour Cream and Onion by Lays. My husband loves the ripple potato chips to use in ranch dip. I have tasted other chips, but I keep going back to the plain ones or the sour cream and onion. They are the best.

Pastrelli original - The greatest crisps ever, unfortunatly discontinued [em]sad[/em].
I like pastrelli crisps best but unfortunatly they are no longer being produced since a couple of weeks, so now I have to look for a new favourite . I've included a picture of the bag so you might know which ones I mean. They were pizza flavoured crisps and very yum! .

I have never seen thesse chips you are talking about. What flavour are they? Why did they stop making them, do you know? And how do you know they quit making them?

Like I said in my previous response they are pizza flavoured . I guess pizza margerita as these are called 'pastrelli original and there used to be a pastrelli paprika and a pastrelli cheese/onion. I have no clue why they got cancelled, I phoned the company because I couldn't find them anymore and the employees didn't know either, they say they don't get the why's only that they know they don't make it anymore .

I like the barbeque, sour cream and onion, and the all found. I like onion dip and the herb and onion dip, or dill dip, but do not have them that often. I prefer the ripple kind rather than the plain wind and I do not like the salt and vinegar or the cheddar cheese kind. I would like to go out and buy some tomorrow, but I have to save my money and get the next Dvd for the Tv series, and also it is my daughter-in=law's birthday coming up and I want to get something for her. Oh I want a package of potato chips so much.

Well, if i absolutely have to choose, I would pick barberque too! MY other favorite is sour cream and onions. And I like to dip them in yoghurt! Best of the yoghurt is the plain flavor ones. I can like finish a few packs of them like that. The other favorite is to dip them in cream soups! Love Chips and cream soups. Like forrest gump would say, "they go together like carrots and peas!"

I like sea salt chips and kettle chips. I like kettle chips because I like my chips extra crunchy. Dipping chips in whipped cream cheese is my favorite way because it's so delicious and salty tasting. Sometimes I use other dips like sour cream and french onion dip.

I like kettle chips, too, but they don't like me. They are a little too hard to chew as I don't have very good teeth, so I can't eat them unless I only suck on them, and that is no good because then they aren't crunchy.

Mayonnaise you say, can''t say I have ever tried it with mayonnaise. I will have to give it a try. I have always used sour cream or chip dip made with sour cream. Never heard of using mayonnaise, but why not.

I try to stay away from potato chips but if I had to pick I would want dip with it also. I like tortilla chips with some kind of dip. They taste good by themselves also.

My favourites are all dressed potato chips, then ketchup then salt and vinegar then plain. Theres lots of other flavours that are ok but those four are my preferred ones. When i was in the states i noticed that there were totally different flavours from what we have here so it was hard to choose.

Hi. chrislotz. I love Sun Chips, I love all of the flavors. I love Doritos's too. I love the hot and spicy flavors. I also enjoy eating Dill Pickle as well. When I was pregnant, I ate these chips like crazy! I love barbecue chips just as long as it is spicy though.

My all time favorite potatoe chips are sour cream and onion. I do like many others but that is my first pick choice. Barbecue chip and the plain ripple ones are good for dipping in french onion dip.

I like plain old ridge or regular potato chips the best. I know that's probably boring to you but that's my favorite! In fact when I started to read this discussion I ran to the cabinet and now I'm typing this with a greasy bag of Wise Ridges in my lap and greasy fingers on my keyboard! Yummy!

Funny, you got a good giggle out of me with your response. No I don't think the plain ones are boring. Sometimes I like them too, because they seem to be more salty than the other ones. Your making me giggle gives me the insentive to give you the best response so I will, congratulations my friend.

I am like your daughter and prefer the weird ones as you call them. I prefer the ones that have tastes of food, the new kinds, like barbeque ribs or chicken. I am from a younger generation so I never really got used to just the few there were when you were young, like barbeque or salt and vinegar. I like to dip my chips in dip made especially for chips. Like onion or garlic. I usually make my own dip with sour cream and onion soup mix. But I like it made before I am going to eat it because I like it to set in the fridge for a few hours. It seems to make it a little thicker that way and I like it colder. Good luck my friend and talk to you soon, Littlemissy

Yeah, I've made my own dip as well. I also have used it the way you have but I also have added dill and it's not bad that way too. Try it.

I love the Original flavor the most. I also like Barbeque flavor. The one I hate most is Salt and Vinegar. I find the Vinegar smell too strong. I love to buy my chips from Marks and Spencer. They have really good salted chips. I also eat other brands (local and overseas). They have many flavors like Seaweed flavor, Hot and Spicy flavor, Cheese and etc.

Ruffles Potato Chips - I like ruffles and doritos
I like Ruffles and Doritos. I love Nacho Cheese Doritos. But I love BBQ Ruffles, Sour Cream and Onion, I also do like the Cheddar and Onion flavour too! Not a fan of plain or salt and vinegar and not a fan of Lays (the ones without ruffles that are very thin) I don't like them at all.

Hello chrislotz, well every Irish person, who has lived or worked abroad will tell you that we have to visit the local Irish pubs regularly, so that we can satisfy our vampire-like appetite for salt and vinegar crisps. For many years these were very hard to get abroad, but nowadays they are easier to come by and even my non-Irish friends are hooked on them. Regards. Umart
