Hi everybody..this might sound like a very naive question, but i really feel that i need to know what successful people in life really think about the luck factor. ever since we were kids we were told that its hard work and determination that really leads to success and that we make our own luck. its our own deeds which lead to good or bad luck.
whatever the reason maybe..but i've really worked hard giving more than my best to acheive certain goals in my life. in some i did succeed and in some i have failed miserably. i just cant figure out a right reason for the failure, even after putting in more than my 100% efforts. its not only failure but i have also succeeded in places where my efforts have been minimal!!!
i never beleived in luck but now when i sit down and think of what i have done and acheived in life, i really feel that there is something that has played a major role in just about everything. could this be the luck factor??
Well i guess i better start beleiving in luck...or else how can i explain the success of those people who i don't like !!!

Dear friend,
I hope luck has a prominent role in making life success and more over one may be even alive only because of luck and God's wish. I had faced three times accidents and all these three times luck has helped me and is alive. Luck has played a lot in my life and may be the bonus of God. More over even in exams if one is lucky to get those questions that he has learned is also more favorable. Hence I feel that lucky has a crucial role in one's success.

well my friend i don't believe in luck and that i only believe in two things
HARD WORK and a KICK-A.S.S ATTITUDE. Summed up i am all about strong mind set.
Call it good KARMA, fate or destiny or luck but remember the next time you celebrate a victory or success that luck was but the 1st step on the journey to success.
Luck might have set the scene but hard work got you there.
WHAT DO YOU THINK? Is Success really about LUCK?

I think luck plays a good part. As an adult I often am reminded that hard work does not always lead to success. Then again, success may be relative to the person that you are describing. Our decisions do play a big role in the direction of our lives, but there are many factors that lead a person down their own unique path. Some are under more of our control than others. What you inherit from prior generations, where you come from, the things that you have access to, the type of baggage that you carry around with you, the talent that you possess and being in the right time at the right place are just examples of what can make or break your success. A lot of times I think that some of these really "successful" people are kinda crazy. I think that they do things that the average Joe would never think about doing, in order to reach success. So, they end up successful because they are so desperate to be successful that they will do whatever, within or without reason, to get there.

i totally belive that luck is required to be a successful person hard work is also required but without luck people cannot achieve successful. even if you give your 100% then also you can fail in life without luck. but that does't mean we should not work very hard we should do our best & god will do the rest.

I am happy for you asif.. looks like you have really made it! But you see, both hard work and luck complement each other-I have not been very Lucky-my hard work has not seen any tangible reward and time is really running up on me before i make it-yet in all this I think Luck is the big thing in sucess-look just how some stay hom mums go out once, buy a lottery ticket and earn millions! That is pure luck

hi academic2 (wish i knew ur real name to address you with it :) ,
first of all if earning millions is what you think is success....then i guess i am still a BIG loser ;) differnt people think differently about success and winning a lottery does not mean success to me. if there is no hard work and determination in anything you gain...its worthless. (ya i know...tomorrow if i go on to win a million bucks - i may have a different idea!! hahaha) As i mentioned in my previous comment lets just give our 100% and leave only the results to luck then atleast when we will look back in life we can be satisfied that we did try no matter what the result and that day you will feel that you have lived your life to the fullest- that would be true success to me. failures will always be there in our life; we have to again look forward and learn from our previous mistakes and strive to make it big again. relying on luck alone will never help.
any ways...i really wish you all the best in life and i pray that you acheive all the success you have been working hard for. God bless you.

Do you not think it is the choices that we make in life as to whether we fail or successed. Some choices come easy and I guess that is where you would do good with minimal, others are hard choices and sometimes what looks good at the time turns out to not be so easy or not the right choice, once in awhile we hit on something by luck, but I do believe we control out success and our failures.

i could easily rate this as one of the best responses...its exactly what i have been looking for!! its trully the choices or the decisions we make that really decide our rate of success or failure. sometimes we do not act on our instincts and probably take decisons on what others say or believe and usually falter out on the long run. now when i think of my failures...i can actually realise y i goofed up. it was just my wrong choice or maybe at the wrong time. thanx for your response. really appreciated.

Luck is something which might be considered legitimate in some ways. I believe in karma and I suspect it has a lot to do with luck. Luck would merely be reactions for good things done previously. If one has little or no luck then we might be able to surmise that the has done not much good. This might explain successes which came from little or no effort on your part. Failures might just be deferred successes. I don't let failures deter me. Cheers!!

Luck plays a key role in success but you gotta have the ability first.

very true my friend..i agree that we need to have the ability and thats what i always beleived in. but dont u think that even after having the abilty, and after all the had work and actually putting in all the ingredients required for success..its so unfair that this uncontrollable factor called luck brings in failure??

i would like to say yes i beleive in luck...but its not luck that you can depend on...so i beleive that hardwork with luck makes man successful... i am a bit successful in my life and i haven't done too much hardwork, you know it bro...but i won't say that i haven't done hardwork at all...i have tried to give my best at the places i needed and then depend on luck...my career started with my luck... i haven't done any big studies or anything that will help me in my career...but i would like to say one more thing that with hardwork and luck we also need support...which i have got from my family and friends...mostly my brothers...especially you have always helped me showing the right path when i needed it...thanx for everything bro... missing you...hope everything will be fine and you will be rewarded for all the hardwork you've been doing.

:) i pray for that too and its not only for me but for everyone who put in thier sincere efforts in everything that they do. you started your career in front of me and i wouldnt agree that it was only luck. i have seen you take interest in learning and actually working hard to make sure you do not falter at work. so keep up the good work...give ur 100% and then just leave the results for luck. so even if you ever falter in life...atleast you can look back and be proud of yourself that u did your best no matter what the result..thats what will give you a feeling of living your life to the fullest. lotsa love n regards

so luck is actually the will of Allah
And what ever happens to us whether good or bad is the will of Allah Almighty,
but wait have u read Quran , in a quran there is a verse which says nothing bad befalls on any human being unless it is from his own actions.

Alhamdulillah, being a muslim, i have read the Quran. If you read my response carefully i have written that luck in other words is nothing but the will of God, and is actually influenced by our own deeds....
i hope that is the answer you were looking for.

Hey bro!!! wassup??? I trust u that you have worked hard and have given more than 100% in what ever you have done. I beleive it's both luck and hard work. As someone said in a response to you "may be we choose something that is not in our luck and keep working tooooooooooooo hard for it and in the end we find that we are not satisfied with what we were doing.. But what i actually beleive and have experienced is that there is no place in this world for a person who can give 100% or more than 100%. It's all about showing ... showing means do 50% and show 110% :)I call it WORKING SMART.. i dont know what the world calls it. It's been years now and we always keep discussing about this and my answer to you is always the same. Never give your hundred percent to your company to your boss. Give max 75% and the rest keep it with you so that your company or your boss runs behind you. Do your job from time to time. Doing a favor for your company or your boss by doing a overtime is ok by doing it once in a blue moon. If you make this favor a habit .. your company will use you and in the end you gain nothing. All the efforts that you had put as a favor has gone only to your company .. what did you gain??? Nothing i mean nothing ... 99 good deeds will be forgotten by one silly mistake done by you. So why not tell your boss if i do overtime you need to pay me... and thats when you come to know your value. if he really thinks that you are worth it he will pay you if he says no.. then you get your answer. Just tell him that you will not do overtime... So i just want to say that we need to keep and maintain our image even if the opponent is our boss. .. for example take my case... when i woz working with one of the private firms in Ahmadi (Kuwait) I used to get an allowance of 20Kd for m cell phone .. after 3 months i did not get my allowance for the cell phone. I went and spoke to my boss and he replied that from today onwards no one will get allowance for their cell phones. So i said that i will not use my cellphone for the company and he just replied ok dont use it. I said fine and i left from his cabin. The next day early morning he called me and i did not receive his call ...He kept calling and calling may be 10 times and i did not answer .. when i reached my office he was just in a bad mood and called me in his cabin and asked my why i did not receive his call. My answer was simple it's my personal phone and not your companies. I just receive personal calls... So he understood .. kept quite and asked me to leave the cabin.. after 2 hours he called me and told me to collect the allowance from our accountant... there you go.... i made him feel that he needs me.... You see what i want to say...
So guys pleaseeeeeeeeeeee work smart don't run behind your boss... make them run behind you..
Awaiting for a response from you all.. on what you think about my way of working...
Thank you for your precious time...
Regards,
HBK

Good day.. I think luck plays a major role in success. why? because our lives are unpredictable we only held 50% of it. Example: you worked hard for a deal, everything went smooth and tomorrow would be the final disclosure and signing.. good right? but wait till tomorrow comes when the major player had a heart attack and die what then? or there is a great calamity that made the place of investment non - feasable. These are the factors that is out of our hands and is the play ground of fortune and misfortune. Sad sad to say but it's true.

Hi friend, I never wait for the luck, it's unfortunately or fortunately comes but we have to work what we are performing the things. It's all depend's on us. We have to effort the things then we can get easily.

Luck is very necessary in life. I have been beaten down innumerable times because my luck was down.Try as much as I might I simply couldn't get anywhere. But after some years I have been doing well. Even tough I could have been better had my luck been better. But then yes those of us have had bad times we realize luck is important
