I think it's a virus or something. It happened to me before, and found out that it is because of a virus. And it really annoyed me, I only found out about it after a month. I think it was ravmone something or a b something virus.

hmm tricky! How far does it get into the boot up sequence? Does it actually get into Windows? How old is your system? As mentioned it could also be a virus?
Boot it up in Safe Mode, or use a seperate boot disk that you know is viruse free, your OS install disk is Virus Free and usually is bootable, that way you know weather it is a virus or not. You could have a power supply issue or there could be a bad thermal switch (this will protect your system from getting too hot)

I sometimes feel that computers have minds of their own. I had so many problems with my computer that I got rid of it and bought a laptop. That wasn't without its difficulties. When one of the keys fell off it I called Dell. They sent me a new keyboard free of charge. They sold me extra memory to make my laptop run faster. I was delighted that I was able to sort out most of my problems with a factory reset. However I can't get on to one of my favorite Internet sites. I wrote a post about this and it seems other people can get on to it. Computer problems make me sad too. Good luck getting your computer sorted out.

for how long do you have your pc??
When was the first time that this problem started to occur?
Did you make any changes to you pc before the problem arised?
Start troubleshooting the hardwares.
check if your power connector from power supply to motherboard is not loose
and check the connectors going to your hard drive, any loose connector will not provide enough power to your hardwares and may cause system shutdown or reboot.
