Today is National Milk Chocolate Day

United States

Do you prefer Milk Chocolate or Dark Chocolate? I really don't care!!! LOL I love them all. Do you like just plain chocolate or do you like to bite into carmel, marshmallow, etc? Again I'm not picky. The only type of chocolate I don't like is the jelly filleds. Yucky!! Now this might be gross to some but I will ask. Do you smell your chocolate before you eat it? I don't but a very good friend of mine does. I have to laugh because now both her daughters do it. LOL Do you have a favorite chocolate that you just love! My favorite national brand is Dove, I think. There are so many to choose from. Are you lucky to have a local chocolate company in your area? Who is it? Mine is Bomboy's Chocolate in Havre de Grace, MD. They are the bomb. They can be found on google and make the yummiest truffles! A couple of years ago, the owner's son started making ice cream! Thankfully they are 20 miles away/one way so we don't get there very often!!!! I usually give the teachers chocolate and I have gotten smart and order online because the place is a mob scene during the Christmas holiday! When : July 28th National Milk Chocolate Day is a special day for a special treat. Are you a "Chocola-holic"? If you are, you look forward to each and every chocolate related holidays. There are lots of flavors of chocolate. Milk chocolate is enjoyed in candies and in baking. Milk chocolate is the favorite of millions of people. So, its only fitting that it gets its very own special national day. Important Note: Don't be dyslexic about this special day. Today is a day for Milk Chocolate, not Chocolate Milk Day. Lest there be any doubt about celebrating this day........ Today should be spent consuming and savoring generous amounts of your favorite milk chocolate treats. Happy National Milk Chocolate Day! Our research did not find the creator, or the origin of this day. Most likely, this sweet day was created by chocolate confectioners.

I never was much of a milk chocolate person, except when I was a young child before I knew dark chocolate existed. Now I'm not a milk chocolate person because I'm vegan too, but for years before that I didn't eat milk chocolate. They do make vegan milk chocolate which is even more disgusting than the real thing. I prefer my chocolate to be at least 70% cocoa.

Usually it is made out of rice milk and then cocoa. But maybe if there's one using soy milk it would taste better. I'm not much of a rice milk person.

Hey there, kimbers867. I definitely prefer milk chocolate. I love caramel and nuts with it, but like you, will take milk chocolate any way I can get it. I really don't eat alot of chocolate because it's fattening. However, it's so interesting that you tell us it's National Milk Chocolate Day because when I went to the grocery this a.m., I impulsively bought a bag of Planters Trail Mix Sweet & Nutty. It's a small bag of peanuts, raisins, chocolate pieces, chocolate covered peanuts, almonds, cashews, and cranberries. Now, I gotta tell ya, I never tasted trail mix until the last couple of months. That's crazy, isn't it???? And it's delicious! It's like you and the chili cheese dogs!!! Anyhoo, if you get a chance, jot this Trail Mix down and try this particular type. It is sweet, crunchy, chewy, and salty. What a mix. Another National Holiday Brought to us by kimbers867...

I like chocolate although I dont consider myself to be a chocoholic. I nowadays try to buy the dark choclolate because that is supposed to be healthy. I like milk choclolate too and pretty much grew up with that, but I am trying to change my palette to like the dark chocolate better because of the health reasons. Nothing beats a good snicker bars though. I also like mallow cups.

I remember as a kid I only liked milk chocolate. Or maybe it was because my parents didn't have it in the house. Thanks for the response.

Well, Kimbers, I just had my chocolate for the day. Even though they are just chunks of it in Ben&Jerry's Cherry Garcia, I still had chocolate! I did not even know that it is National Milk Chocolate Day. What a coinkeedink (translated to coincidence). Kimbers, you are a regular encyclopedia of National Whatever Days!! Keep up the good work!!

There is not one type of chocolate I don't like, even the jelly filled! My favorite is dark chocolate, the darker the better. We have a local chocolate company that's about 25 miles away. I haven't been there personally but my mother in law bought me some chocolates from there and they were good. She says they are better than Godiva, I say no way! Godiva it my favorite!!

Milk chocolate is my favourite kind of chocolate. I didn't know it was Milk Chocolate Day today - I think I'll take full advantage of this very special day and eat lots of milk chocolate! When I was at uni in York I lived near the Rowntree factory (I think it is Nestle now). Some days I would step outisde and there would be the wonderful aroma of chocolate in the air! It smelt just like chocolate cake or chocolate brownies - gorgeous!

I love chocolate! I like both milk chocolate and dark chocolate. White chocolate too, but that's not really chocolate. I like Hersheys, but I really love imported chocolates. Yum. Expensive, though. I don't mind jelly filled chocolates or cream filled. And at Easter, I love both Cadbury Eggs (the original) and fruit and nut eggs. But if you have to put something with chocolate, I do like peanut butter. Peanut butter M&Ms are the best! And Reeses peanut butter cups. Okay...now instead of fixing dinner, I want chocolate! Thanks a bunch.

I forgot about the Peanut Butter M&M's too! They are my girl's favorite so we have a hard time keeping them in the house. Isn't it funny how the Reese Peanut Butter Eggs are better than the regular PB cups? Don't forget chocolat covered cherries!!! I have made dipped cherries before, they are so good! During the holidays I dip pretzels also. I just tried dried cherries, just like a raisin. I think I am going to throw some cherries and some nuts together and dip them this year during the holidays!!! I think they will turn out really good!

I think this is great I guess I will have to get some for I only have a couple of the milk chocolate hershy bliss left in the bag in my fridge. My all time favorite is the 1/2 pound hershy's milk chocolate bar w/ almonds. I can sit and indulge in that and almost eat the whole thing about a little over 1/2 of it is gone befor I decied enoughs enough. Well I hope you had your fullfill of it today and anyone else that is a milk chocolate fan.

Wow, I didn't know about this! There are so many awesome holidays in the world that I learned about through myLot! Cool! For me, every day is chocolate day and I need to have a chocolate a day. I actually made chocolate revel bars today, not to celebrate National Milk Chocolate Day, but just for fun. I was also craving for something sweet.

Dear kimbets867, did somebody not write here a week ago that it was national ice-cream day. At least that made sense!.... May I be so bold to suggest that National Milk Chocolate Day in the middle of summer is a major mistake and that the person who came up with the idea, should be forced to eat a kilo of the stuff in California, without the use of a spoon/napkins/tissues or any other things which could be used to hide the mess. Happy messy eating. Umart

Yep, that was me writing about national ice cream day. LOL Oh you are so right about what a mess it would be to eat in California. I live in Maryland, and it has been not. Even with the air conditioner on my chocolate bars have been a little soft. LOL Thanks for the response!

Cool, I didn't know that chocolate had its own day. I prefer milk chocolate over anything else. Adding caramel to it kicks it up a few notches. The first thing I thought about just now is hot chocolate. I've never made mine with a recipe or anything. I've only done the standard scoop, stir, and microwave.
