Hey, there. Uhm.. what do you mean reset? is it to reformat a hard drive or reset motherboard settings to factory default? I'll try to help.

You could reformat the drive. Do you have a copy of Windows XP or Vista? Reformat your drive and install Windows. Only problem is you won't have the programs you had on it when you bought it.

To restore your computer - there are restore disks. Maybe I can help you if you tell me what brand you have. I restore a lot of computers and have several different disks.
Something might be able to be worked out. If I can I would be happy to help~ even find you a set of disks
The other thing you can do is go to the Computer website and purchase another set of restore disks. They are not that much.

Great to hear you found it! I had no idea what computer you had- until after I had posted and read the other answers. I would have posted hours before I did, but I had a power out! lol
It's nice to know people DO help! I did find a Dell disk- with some software if you need it.
I hope things are back to normal. Good luck

If you're using XP, there is a system restore feature. You can restore the XP back when XP was there without any modifications like fresh installation of XP has just been done.
There is the more invasive the reformat as in XP is deleted from the system and you start with the black screen DOS mode either using Floppies or using the XP CD installer.

I think you should be very careful here or you might lose programs and files you want to keep. Reformatting your hard drive will wipe out EVERYTHING. If your computer is pretty new you probably have a partition on your hard drive that contains all your basic Windows programs. Most computers don't come with disks anymore, they have that partition. If you turn off your computer and start it back up there might be a message that tells you to push some button to go into "restore", but all computers are different. You probably should contact Dell on the phone.
