Is Darker Skin Less Attractive?

I'm so pale I practically glow in the dark, but I don't have a preference for color. I don't think skin color has anything to do with how attractive someone is, but I do think that all tones can be very, very beautiful. A friend of mine has the most amazing skin; it's a really dark, practically black color and absolutely stunning. My SO is paler than I am, and I think his skin is beautiful. Basically, I'm easy. To me, as long as a person looks healthy, their skin can be beautiful. I'm glad your sister has been able to accept herself for who she is. You're very right that what's on the outside, be it skin color or how long your ears are, doesn't mean anything, when it really boils down.

i have English skin lool means it fairly light, but not right pale. in summer i go nice tan but not dark.. darker skin is not less attractive, in fact i prefer darker skin, think its VERY attractive.. Many whiter people pay money for sun beds to become darker or spend many hours out in the sun trying to make their skin darker lool i am more attracted to men darker.. maybe i like opposite to myself

I have pale skin, not completely milk bottle white, but I have pale skin as in England we do not get much sun. I have no skin related experiences other than people asking what is wrong with my skin when it is peeling off due to eczema, but nothing related to the colour. I do not think darker or lighter skin is more attractive than the other. There are times when I wish my skin was milk bottle white, but other times I wish I had a nice tan.

Well roshand, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. There are people who finds darker skin attractive and there are those who finds fair skin attractive. As for me the brown skin of the Filipina is the best. The brown skin of a Filipina is the envy of the white race so we should be very proud of it. Whatever is given to us by God... that we should accept for after all God made everything beautiful in his time. Besides the color of the skin is not what really matters it is the inner beauty that count the most.

My skin color is white I find dark skinned men extremely attractive and makes me want to make babies with them why I do not know.

in my country,the people seem to lean to the white like the milk.

i agree with you. every shade is beautiful. here in south africa, there are much more dark people than light, and when i look at people on the street, i wonder why they dont become models. i am a believer in inner beauty anyway. but when it comes to outer beauty, i think it depends on how people take care of themselves. soap and water is cheap.

When I was teaching at one school my class had a Colombian girl in it. She had a dark skin, brown eyes and lovely long wavy black hair. Everyone thought she was the most beautiful little girl that they had ever seen. The other girls were jealous of her and deputy head teacher said her grand daughter wished she was pretty like this little girl. I think that dark skin is attractive and I hate to hear people make nasty comments about the color of someones skin. A person is born and they have not been able to decide what they wish look like. That is chosen for them at birth or even before then. My skin is pale white. I have green eyes and long, straight dark brown hair. In the past I liked to get tanned skin but since going to Australia I have found out about skin cancer. It is a person's personality that matters. I think like would be boring if everyone looked the same. It is lovely that each person in the world has a different appearance, excluding identical twins of course. A dark is skin looks lovely and is good in sunny weather for there will be no danger from sun burn.

Dark is beautiful. I have seen the real beauties who have the right shape and features to be dark and dusky. I really feel it is not the skin but the nature of the person which determines how attractive you are. Being fair and lovely outside and dark and ugly inside makes you more repulsive. You did right to encourage your sister to accept her skin gracefully and Im sure she must have turned out to be a beauty, both inside and outside.

I am light skinned and have not experienced the prejudice that darjer skinned peole have. I personally think a dark skin tone is beautiful! I have always leaned toward darker skinned, dark haired people over light skinned, light haired people. Don't ask me why - I really don't know. You are absolutely right though - its whats inside that counts. Unfortunately though, most people look at the outside before they see anything else. Best wishes!

I never think darker skin is less attractive. But somehow, some of my friends, they like fairer skin guys. coz, they think they looked "clean". For me, i think dark or fair is fine.

I happen to prefer a guy that is darker skined. I am white myself and I enjoy tanning so I become darker. I find dark skin or olive skin to be very sexy. I really don't like guys that are pasty white. However, it all depends on the person as well. If physical attraction and emotional attraction are not there, then the person is not attractive in my eyes no matter the skin colour.

who says so.....I am myself considered fair but i am inadvertently attracted to the dusky types.I think the dusky types are definitely more attractive and the fair skin has been whipped up to a hype especially in India

It would be a very boring world if we all the exact same eye shape and skin color. Kids can be so cruel to anyone that is the slightest bit different. I was made fun of when I first started wearing glasses but it was so good to be able to see that I didn't let it bother me. My skin color is a very light or maybe what is called white. I always wanted to have a nice tan but instead I always burn. I long for the day when we all can see past the skin color and just see the person and how lovable they are.

I don't think skin colour makes a person less or more attractive at all. It's how the person takes care of themselves on the inside and out. My skin is fair to medium colour. I personally wish my skin was a little darker that is only my preference not that I think it would make me more attractive but a tan would be nice.

I dont think dark skin is less attractive , beauty lies with in your heart and the way your behave. We should agree to the fact they are so many people who are darker in color but looks very beautiful , if you have good features what ever color you may have you look beautiful. I am wheatish and I love my skin color.

Personally speaking,I have white skin,Dark hair and Blue Eyes,what could be described as "Celtic" colouring.(I live in Ireland) I don't have a preference for the level of pigmentation in skin that I like,I just like attractive skin!

I personally find darker skin more physically attractive. Who the person is enhances that attraction. Even though I am caucasian, I have darker skin and will get a tan walking across a parking lot. At the end of summer, I'll get asked for ID to make sure I'm not Mexican.

Darker skin is definitley more attractive! I get compliments in the summer on how good I look or how nice my tan is but in the winter I get nothing.
