Well i'm really not in the mood to cook a whole lot because its 100 degrees here, and cooking will make it hotter. So tonight i'm going to toast some bread, cut up some home grown tomatoes, and cook some smoked sausage, put it all together for a tomato smoked sausage sandwich. how about you guys what are you having for supper tonight??

Sounds like a yummy sandwich I'm not sure what we are having for dinner yet, the cook is out running around town with the bored child, so I will have to wait and see what she says when she gets home. Unless I call the pizza guy first

I decided to fix pasta because it's easy...well, I had the container of tomatoes sitting on the counter with a wooden spoon standing in it...I went to reach for something, hit the spoon which then knocked the container on the floor...thus splashing pureed tomatoes all over the floor, the walls, the cabinets, chairs, me...you name it..it was such an unbelievable mess that only now can I laugh about it (4 hours later) :-O

We had a barbecue tonight at my Mums with some of my cousins who were over. There was a lot of food as there was quite a few people. We had burgers, sausages and chicken drumsticks but my cousins had also cooked some lamb and some duck, both of which had been marinated in different ways. There was potato salad, green salad with avocado, rice salad, cous cous salad and greek salad as well as a variety of breads. For pudding there was summer pudding, a chocolate pavlova and tropical fruit salad.
So I am feeling quite full!

We grilled some hotdogs and smoked sausage and had some mac and cheese with puured cauliflower mixed it. We had BLT's for lunch, so it sounds like we had a similar menu. It's hard to know what to make when it's hot. It seems like the choices are limited. It was like 90 something here today but it didnt seem that bad.

That sounds almost good to someone who doesn't like tomatoes (raw) or smoked sausage. We had a light dinner more because of not wanting to have anything elaborate than because of heat. Not a really nutritious dinner, but a tasty one, anyway. We had creamed dried beef gravy (also known as creamed chip beef or SOS) on toast with tropical fruit and fruited gelatin. Nothing big, yet something we enjoyed.

Here supper has changed. My husband has gone back home for several months, and that leaves me to cook and eat alone. So last night in the grocery store, they had a huge sale on frozen dinners. I loaded my cart with them, bought some potatoes to bake, and some tomatoes for salads and I have decided that that is what I will eat this month while he is gone. Really it is so hot outside anymore that turning the oven on or cooking heats up the house so bad, so thought I would make it easy on myself for a change. Hubby likes big meals cooked, sot here is not only the heat in the kitchen, but also the mess to clean up. This is my vacation too. Only I get stuck at home.

I had the most unusual dinner last night. My daughters boyfriend came over and cooked
us dinner. He is from the Dominion Republic so his eating habits are quite different
than ours, here in Canada.
He made us a dish of boneless and skinless chicken thighs with all kinds of different
spices that I never ate before. He used celantro on it which I normally hate, but with
this recipe it was really good. He used oregano and something else that I don't know
as he wouldn't tell me because it is his specialty and he will cook it for us again
some day. It also had some kind of sauce, again I don't know it, and we put it on
rice.
He fried some kind of thing that we ate on the side, a vegetable. I don't know what
it is called but I have seen this in the stores for years and didn't know what it
was or how to cook it. It looks like a big green banana. He boiled it in cubes for about
three minutes and then he took a spatula and flattened them and then fried them in
oil in the deep fryer. It was so good. Almost like french fries but better.
I like to try different foods and I really enjoyed that dinner. I will have him over
again to cook for us. I am sure he has lots of different things to cook for us, that
we have never tried before.
Alrighty then, talk to you later,
your friend Chris.

I made shrimp scampi and pasta. I really shouldn't have because my husband didn't eat that much saying he was too full. I made it for him really, because I could have had anything. I could have saved that dish for tomorrow. I bet tomorrow he will be hungry and I will say, well aren't you still full from yesterday

Well we finally got a break from the heat today here in New York.
We had some wild and wicked thunder storms so it really cooled
of alot. So I decided to make shrimp terriyaki stirfry. I added
some brocolli, carrotts and water chestnut veggies and rice
and it came out great. The important thing is my picky
boyfriend liked it. He's the test case. If he likes it I know
it has to be good!

I agree that today is too hot to cook, although I have chicken that I need to cook. I don't want it to go to waste.
Besides it is starting to cool off in the house now. Might as well heat it up again! What you are cooking sounds pretty good. Have a good meal and a great evening.

I had two viands today. We had Filipino dishes namely Sinigang na Hipon and Sinaing na Isda, both were cooked sweetly soured. And I loved it. I even had two pieces of bananas slipped into my mouth.

It's hot here and I don't want to cook much either. But I never know what I'm having til I hear a knock at the door. My older neighbor cooks a lot and has family over often. She usually cooks too much and brings me a plate. I'm not sure why she started doing this - just a nice lady - but it has helped my grocery bill! lol!
Maybe tonight I'll get BBQ chicken or pork chops or banana pudding! It's always a nice surprise.

Sounds nice! Well it is not that warm here in the UK, so cooking is not really a chore because it is quite cool! I am going to do some pork chops, roast potatoes and sweetcorn and some gravy probably!
