When you want to watch a film or a movie, especially if you really like the story and just overall cinematography where do you want to watch it? On a dvd or at a theatre? Considering also that you like the actors and actresses that makes the movie. As for me, I prefer watching it in a moviehouse because I still believe that its still the biggest screen compared to having a widescreen home theatre, even if you have plasma the theatre is still bigger than life size. However, if I really like the film and want to preserve it thats the time I buy a copy of their dvd for collection purposes.

Certain movies, I just have to see in a theater. Not somebodys version of one in their house either. It's something about the big-screen, squeaky seats, and popcorn. Well.. that and the fact that I live one block away from the same theater I went to as a child, so the nostalgia factor,(and it's $4 for the matinee). Or as a family we sometimes go to the drive-in so we can see 2 movies, or 3 if you want to stay and watch the first one over again. We take our own snacks and drinks and my hubby can smoke his stink-sticks at the drive-in, so of course he likes it better. I have never really been happy with the quality of DVD's, but I will watch them once in a while. #:)

Wow, that is so cool. Especially the drive-in movies. Here in our country we used to have that back in the 90's. Its so intimate when you watch it outdoors and you're with your loved ones. This really blows my mind away. I love films and they should be shown through a really superb medium which is the big screen

I want to watch the movie in the theater because of the big screen.
But lately I am very busy. That's why I only watch films in dvd. If
there's a great film that is going to be shown in theater. I will
find time for that. Especially if the actors and actress are good.

Hi mchavez11. I am a huge movie fanatic and personally, I prefer to watch them in the comfort of my home. You can pause it if you need to, you don't have to worry about the people around you being noisy and you don't have to spend a small fortune on sodas and snacks...lol.

Yeah I totally agree with that especially when it comes to snacks but my 2 kids are just all over the place especially when I watch films, they want to watch cartoons instead which I can't really say no. Hehehe.

I'm in the middle there. The theater experience is something I'll never manage to pull off in terms of scale and all that stuff. Since there's noway I'm going to be able to afford the equipment to do it. But watching at home has it's perks too:
1) The only people there are ones you want there.
2) DVDs/VHS/Whatever are more portable than film reels...
3) You can stop, rewind whenever you want.

i like to watch movies in a cinema hall, on a wide n big screen
it really causes much enjoyment than watching it at home.
n moreover if a movie has special effects or so its better to watch
it on a theatre as u can fully enjoy ur movie n not feel bored up fast
its also relaxing n a break from the daily routine from what we usually
do it.
one thing is different that i cant watch movies in theatre here as i m in
germany n i should only opt german movies here, so i usually manage it at
home with tv n laptop, but then we had watched once a german movie on
a multiplex though i dont understand much.
when i use to be in india or when i visit to india i watch it on theatres
frequently, n its a great enjoyment for me n i like it.

The theater screen is idea, but there are some advantages to watching movies at home, namely that you can hit "pause" when you need a bathroom break! Also in theaters sometimes you get stuck with either tall people in front of you blocking your view or people who won't be quiet. I do feel that if a movie is big on story but not so much special effects or visuals, then you can watch it on a 13 inch TV screen and it's okay, I mean if the story is what counts.

I always thing that good movies remain good in tv or theater.Watching a great movie is always a personal experience for me.I want to enjoy a classic alone in the dark in my DVD without any disturbance. That definitely doesn't mean I hate theaters.

I used to LOVE going to the movie theater but now I'd much rather cuddle up on the couch with my honey and our pup and be all nice a comfy and enjoy the movie. Granted, it is nice to get out once in awhile I still rather enjoy it at home!

I prefer watching movies at home since it's just more cozy and comfortable. Nothing beats cuddling up on the sofa with a blanket and in pjs. However, if it's a movie I really want to see I will go to the threater simply because I don't wait until it's out on DVD to watch lol like the upcoming Harry Potter movie or Twiligt movie since I'm a huge fan of the books :D

There are movies that should be watched only in theaters to better "feel" the impact that the producers intended the audience to feel. Well, if you have a huge HDTV and dolby surround technology at home, you don't need theatres.
I don't have the right technology but since I'm not very particular with all those, I prefer watching movies at home mainly coz it saves me money haha. And well, I can hit "pause" whenever I want, rewind it to a scene that I want to watch again, I can wear my pjs and cuddle my pillows, and have unlimited food and drink as well!

Earlier I loved watching movies at home only..!!
Sitting on my cozy couch or bed!!
Its much more comfortable.
As I keep changing my sitting positions time by time ..I love comfort!!
But As soon as I started going college my friends found it really hard to digest the fact that I actually don't like going to movie halls!!
They really dragged me to the hall like every week end and made me bunk my classes!!
No doubt I enjoyed it but also discovered that some really good movies are better on movie halls rather than on a TV..!!
I like watching dramas as I really get myself into it!!
So I love them on movie halls now!!

If I have big house, big wide screen at home its enough to see my favourite movie in home, but though movie house is movie house, it has its distinct entity, sound, big wide screen, all makes a different between home and theatre

Nowadays you can watch your favorites movies at home, you buy some dvds or download through the computers, but for me sometimes I also want to watch movies in moviehouse because the sounds, the colors, everything, its still different in the big screen.

I dont think so much before going for a movie. I generally watch out the movie. Until and unless it has been rated pathetically, I watch it. I think you dont need to preserve the movie as it is always available somewhere or the other place.

I prefer watching movies in the theater. I don't know why but it really gives a good relaxing feeling. And of course, the sound effect is much better in there. But if I have no money to watch a movie at a particular time, I'll just wait for the DVD to be released. Of course, it's also nice to have a DVD Collection of one's favorite actor/actresses/genre.

Of course I want to go to the cinema. But the ticket is so expensive here that it will spent me 5 days' expense. if i am alone, i will not bother to go out and i will see it on PC. If i am with my wife, we will go to the cinema. It is wonderful to go to the cinema with beloved.
