Two favorite TV shows at the same time, what will you do?

The TV channels are always very competitive. Usually they will have their popular shows and programs at the same time. It's so difficult for me to choose. So I have to switch channels during the advertisement break. However, now it seems they even have the similar time for advertisement It's too bad that I have to give up one of them. Later I may try to see whether I can see it via the net and perhaps this is the best choice for me.

Bummer. I guess the best thing to do is tape one and see the other.I remember once upon a time you could see two shows at the same time because the comerical breaks were at different times, but I guess those days are gone.Suggestion. Check and see if you can see your favorite show online. That way you can see one and see the other online.

Is there no way you can record one of them my friend? Either by using the video or recordable dvd player, even on Sky you have the facility to be able to record programmes and watch others. Fortunately I am lucky my favourite shows are on at different times so there is no hassle of having to miss one or switch over. Or you could alternate, watch one programme one night and the other program another night

Well, if I really like the show a lot, then I will have to make it a point to get a recorder to record one while I watch the other.
The other option is to choose one.
Usually on cable, there is always re-runs that you can catch at a later time during the week. Or even the same day.
So check your TV schedule. Plan you watching time table ahead.

I too spend a lot of time in front of the computer now a days. Compared to when I was still single, I spent heck of a lot of time in front of both the TV and the computer!
With the big screen CRT in front of me, and my Computer on my desk facing the TV, i get the best of both worlds!
Now, I do not have the same luxury cos of the layout of the home.
Still thinking of ways to get a TV and the computer in the same room!

I'm lucky - I have DVR service that records two programs at once. When there's only two shows on at the same time that I like, there's no problem - I can watch one and record the other. Three's not even that big of a deal, because I can record two and watch the third in another room. I haven't run into four programs I like being on at the same time, but I'm sure it'll happen. Thank God for the internet - and my poor overworked DVR!

my husband and I were just talking about this today, and we are very happy that even if two of our favourite shows come on at the same time, we are able to see them at a later hour. Often a show will be on three times in one day, on the same station, so if two shows conflict, we'll look through the TV guide and see which ones will be repeated and when, and decide which one to watch by which is most convenient.

I totally agree with you I never know which channel to choose. As long as it is interesting and something I can watch. I am not particularly fussed although I do have my favourite shows. I choose what I like and then usually catch up on shows I miss later.

We have a DVR so I can record one of the programs while I watch the other. At most I can only record two at a time :)

I know. Here in the Philippines, two rival networks are always competing with each other, putting good shows to match the other on the same time slot. What's even worse is even if a certain show is in a different time slot but it garnered a great audience, they would change its time slot to put it up against the hittest show of the other network so as to draw their audience to them. And they say they only have the people in mind. Which I think is a big lie! If they care about the poeple watching their shows, then they should have not put it up against another show that the people also love. They are making it difficult for them. They are actually like lovers who ask their partner to choose between them and a job (or something else equally important). It's not a sign of love. It's selfishness.
If I'm in the position where I have to choose which two favorite shows I'm going to watch, I'll choose the one that has something going on, like "Oh, the day she will finally know." But there are also some scenes that are like that, but sprung out of nowhere, like "Oh, she's alive after all." I don't like that. I think it's a petty way of trying to draw the audience to them.
I don't have this kind of problem nowadays because I don't like all the shows being aired at the other network.

It's the only way to solve this case. It's ensure too difficult to choose which one you should watch.

Hi, if there are only 2 channels having my favourite shows at the same time, it's easy - just tape one channel. That's what I've been doing all along.
However with so many channels now, and sometimes more than 2 channels are showing my favourites, I can only manage two. The rest - maybe I'll buy the DVDs!

I do just like you. I switch to the other channel when the commercial comes on. I've also noticed that the commercial are starting to come on at the same time. But most of the shows I like to watch they will play again on a later day or again later that night.
My sister has DVR and she is always bragging how she is going to record one show while she watch the other show. I wish I had DVR.

I hate when that happens. I have two shows right now that I like to watch on Thursday nights and of course they are opposite each other. I know that one of thems is going to be ending soon since it's a summer replacement show, the other one is also, but I dont know that itis ending next week, so if it's not, I guess my decision will be made for me.
