If you have several friends on Mylot, and some do not have the same point of veiw as you. Or the same beliefs. Or if your a mild personality and they are WILD. Would you break off the friendships for these reasons.
Would you respond to their Disccussions? How would you handle it?

I have 2 on my friends list that I turned off their notification because I seldom enjoyed their discussions. Still I check them out when I have the time. Not enjoying their discussions does not mean that I disagree with them. I just found nothing worthwhile to add. I find fewer crazier than me; so, when I do, I try & learn from them. I love people with a different viewpoint as it gives me something to think about. Whether they change my mind or not may be two different things. My life would be boring if everybody looked at things my way all the time!!!
So, NO I wouldn't drop a friend for just being different* I hope ALL my friends feel the same.

On the odd occasion in the past I have gone through my friends list and deleted some people yes. If I never seem to respond to any of their topics, have them respond to mine; or interact with them in any way then what is the point of having them there as a friend? I have also removed people that have bombarded me with referral links etc because this is just not on. I cetainly will not remove someone if they are very different to me personality wise! As for how I go about it? I just delete them I guess. Seeing as I only delete people I have had no interaction with they don't even notice!

I need all the friends that I can have here. Mind you, if I had so many who did not have the same point of view, I would not be able to post much on the controversial discussions for fear of getting my head cut off. I would have to respond to only their safe or fluff discussions. Usually when it is one that is not my friend, and she is against my point of view vehemently opposed, I say a little prayer: Please God do not let her request to be my friend as I accept everybody. I do not want the hassle."

It took me a while to see that I had to go to their profiles first and find out that loving puppy dogs did not always mean they attended church every Sunday and them to find out that just because I said I was writing did not mean I loved Harry Potter. The trouble is that I need as many friends as I can have. There are some interests that I do not get that many responses on and in those cass -

No i would not break off my friendship for such a reason. Every person has a different view point and we should respect others views too......Moreover on mylot we are just discussing certain topics, No body is imposing his or her views on us.....Its always good to have different views, it brings variety to the discussion, otherwise mylotting would have been so boring!!!!

Hmm I just think that they have there opinion and i will respect that as it as like that.

No I would not. How boring life would be if we were all alike? Just because a person doesn't have the same views and beliefs doesn't mean they aren't a good friend. Now as for the question part. Some of my mylot friends start discussions that I don't agree with in nor do I respond. Just because you have someone as a friend doesn't meant you have to answer all their discussions.

although friendship is the one who connects everyone to different country but the main reason why we are here not only for friendship. of course, the main reason of some members would be the learning's and some also consider the earnings. friendship for me is my third priority, so i won't breakoff mylot because of some friends attitude.

No I wouldn't break off the friendship of my friends here at mylot just because they didn't see things my way or were different than me. I think we can all learn from our friends regardless of who or what they are personality wise. I have made alot of good friends here on mylot and I know I have had some that had their point of views on certain things and all but I will continue to be friends with them no matter what.

I would keep them unless they said something that sounded really bad or nasty. Then they would probably be chucked out any way. I have friends of all ages and from different places. That is the good thing about mylot. You make friends with people you would not know outside. Read your discussion on reaching 500. Hope you win.

I'm new here, so I haven't acquired "friends" yet. But to honestly answer your questions...I don't think I would. In my life outside the computer I've got friends from all walks of life. They share different beliefs, some are beyond wild, some are shy. It's the differences that make our friendships unique and interesting. I learn from them. And hopefully they learn from me as well. How droll would life be if everyone was exactly the same??? Of course there's always boundaries...if someone is offensive or rude, I'd make it known. Then take it from there.

I see it like any other moderation. In here they are just other interested conversationalists. if what they say or do is offensive then you pobably don't want them around. if it's just contraversial, that's what the site is about. i think i would send a private message about the behavbior first though and see if that corrects the problem

No I wouldn't break off the friendship but I may just turn off the email notification and just answer a few discussions if I have something to say.
The WILD ones are the discussions that I enjoy reading the most though, even if I don't have anything to say.

Friends on Mylot and friends outside the Internet are two different things. I would dis-associate myself with 'friends' who were wild in person. I would not want to be caught with someone whose personal actions were not like me. But, on the Internet, you really only see what they say/type and you don't know if this is the real person talking. You only have to assume so.
I have 'friends' here who have never posted a discussion in my interests. I didn't ask for the friend request they did, so they perhaps saw something in me. If I saw something I really couldn't live with from them on Mylot, then perhaps I would break it off. Other than that, I guess I'd continue to keep them on my friends' list.

this is a very interesting question, Louise!
i love having online friends from around the world. in fact, i belong to a global networking community. so, there is always an abundance of differences. my favorite people are those whom are nice and friendly and have a little "weird" streak.
i think i separate myself from people, whom i thought to be friends, based on
their "mean" streak.
i know this sounds terribly egotistical, but if i see someone being very mean
or hateful in a response, i simply do not respond to THEM any more.
i remove myself from their circle. i don't reward them with my friendship any more.
life can be so full of stress and hate, that i want to have a good time where
i can have it. this is a great site. i enjoy the discussions and the people.
so far, knock on wood, no one has come right out and attacked me. i would be hurt, but it would not change the quality of my life if they did that.

I don't you think you should not be friends if someone is different than you, because in reality, everybody is different, and you shouldn't judge them for that.
