i was just calucaling how many times i have packed up my things and moved. i realized that i have moved 22 times in my 27 years of life. that averages about once every 9 months or so. i just finished packing and i know with in the next few weeks i will be moving yet again and i find it a bit discouraging to be moving so much but in a way i really like not knowing where my life is headed. although now that i have a child i find myself trying to stay in one place as long as i can. but i just get so tired of looking at the same view and the same things day in and day out. i think that might be why my mom moves her furniture around or redecorates. but it is still the same place. i just dont get it. so how many times have you moved? where did you move to? what place did you move to that you liked the most and cried when you left? why did you leave? why do you move? is it the price of the place you are renting? or does it have something to do what makes me move- change of senery? what do you like about moving? is it the excitement of going someplace new? or do you hate to move and loath packing everything. for me moving gives me a good excuse to get rid of the things i no longer want but mom says that is what garage sales are for. but i think it is easier to move after cause then you got rid of everything that you dont want. so what are your thoughts? ever moved some place that you thought would be great but turned out to be a pain? i remember i moved from long beach california to a place called americus georgia and let me tell you. that was not the place i thought it was going to be. it was in the middle of no where. but at least i made the move and found out for myself instead of wondering whay if. i also meet my husband there so i guess it was the place i had to move to. either way what are your thoughts about moving?

Hahahahahaha! This is indeed a funny discussion realizing what i have been doing in my life. I have been moving a lot of times since my kids were small. Funny to say, but it's true. Now, that they've grown up and had their own lives, living alone by myself still continues to go from one place to another. I still don't know when will be my next place to stay. I know, where i am now is not permanent yet coz' i'm just renting a place to stay. I can relate with your experiences. Sounds familiar to me...........LOL! Well, now that i'm single, the next place to stay would be probably my partner's home. Hopefully!

When I was a child we moved a lot! Probably 20 to 30 times and we lived in 4 different states and 8 different cities, not to mention the different houses. As an adult, I have lived in the same house for the past 7 years.

In my 37 years of existence in this world, I recall that our family moved for seven times already. We moved every four or five years depending on where my father were to be destined. It was sad for us siblings since everytime we moved, we left the friends that we had for 4 or 5 years. It was also difficult for us because everytime we moved to another place, we needed to adjust not only to the new place but also to the new people around that we met. But when I got married, I stayed on this place. We own our house. Thank God I already and have this permanent address. I just don't know if time will come that we will be moving to another place. I hope not, because moving from one place to another is a sad experience and tiring.

you have too look at the bright side of it though. all those people that you meet influenced you in one way or another. and all those experiences that you had makes you apprechiate (i know i spelled that wrong sorry) what you have now. and have helped modivate you to settle down. i just dont think i have it in me. not yet anyways.

holy crap i just realized i have moved 14 times in my life. i never thought about it until i came to this discussion. and i know theres at least one more move in my life yet to come. i hated pack and unpacking and trying to settle into a new place and trying to make new friends and missing old friends when i was younger. from the time i was born til i moved outta my parents house at age 17-18 i had moved 4 times. between then and when i gave birth to my first child i had moved 4 times. after her birth til 5 yrs ago i had moved 6 times. 2 of them though were because i was getting away from a bad relationship.

I've moved 39 times in 56 years. [em}happy[/em] There was a time when I was young and single and living where was a boom in housing. The apartment owners were competing, so they would give out free VCRs or microwaves when you moved in. Some would pay for moving and for changing your phone. Then, 6 months later the rents would go up. I think moved every 6 months - when those rents went up - for about 4 years. [em}happy[/em]

we share something in common already, i think iv moved 22 times as well. all in 20 nearly 21 years. moving wasnt always by choice but i do get bored looking at the same things all the time, same surroundings. iv recently moved actually about 5 months ago and already starting to feel i could move again but thats because of the landlord who nobody likes lol. if it wernt for him i think i could be happy here for a little while longer

last count it was 17 times in my 47 years. i got to be so good at packing that i could have started my own business packing for people who are moving. if it were not such hassle and the house selling market were better i would sell my townhouse for a chance to own an unattached home so i could have a private back yard with a swimming pool even if the house were smaller than what i have now. it would be so worth the extra privacy and yard. but i just cannot go through the hassle right now. i think if the housing market were to really improve i would take the chance as i really feel it would be my last chance to obtain what i really want.
