war movies are good but i don't find myself so much comfortable with the blood draining morbid scenes. yet, i have watched some in the past that i find great. of all these, saving private ryan happens to be my favorite of them all. next is pearl harbor but which theme is more of a love story than a war film. would you mind if i ask what's yours?

I'm not much of a war movie fan but I love Gladiator and Von Ryan's Express. I thought Gladiator was just an amazing epic film with great special effects and an incredible cast. I like Von Ryan's Express because I'm a big Frank Sinatra fan and he was great in it..it also has some fun and humor throughout.

Hello wendhieRN, my favorite war movie is "The Battle of The Bulge", starring Robert Shaw and Henry Fonda. It's a true story about the last German offensive on Christmas Day 1944, when German tank divisions, using the new improved Tiger Panzers overran American lines on the Western Front. Robert Shaw is very convincing as the German Commander and the film is made all the more memorable for the song which the German soldiers sung to the commander to convince him of their willingness to fight. All the best. Umart

I like the old ones, with stories set in WW2. The ones like The longest day and the Bridge over the Kwai. Those were indeed classics

I wouldn't say it is a war movie more of an action on, but I love Bourne series (Bourne Identity/ Supremacy/ Ultimatum) sooo much I watched it like 10 times already. I just love Matt Damon and he is awesome with the role Jason Bourne. My favorite movie of all times that can be classified with war movies is the Schindler's list would be the top, its very heartwarming film, Gladiator would be the next. I also love the story of Saving Private Ryan as you pointed out, it is indeed a good movie. Though I can handle with the bloodshed part hence I like movies like Apocalypto, 300, 10,000 BC and the like. Movies rock !
