I'm not exactly sure when I started disliking talking on the phone, but it was probably around the same time the internet became available. Now my favorite form of communication is through e-mail. Of course, I do talk on the phone periodically, but I think I communicate better through e-mail and it is much easier to reach me this way. Some of my friends don't understand it, but this is just my own personal preference. What about you? Would you rather talk on the phone or use your e-mail to communicate?

hi watchit,
yes, of course email is the great method to communicate.
for personal communication, i prefer using my cellphone to send text message. i also rarely talk on the phone. using text message, we can communicate fast, cheaply and sometimes romantically

i prefer to use phone more as it is more intimate and you can hear the voice expressions of the person you are talking to as well... you can straight away know whether the person you are talking with is angry, sad, bored or happy talking with you and they can't hide it... and we can get the answer or response that we want straight away without having to wait... while using email you can have misunderstanding of what the person is trying to tell you and you don't know the emotions of the person you are talking with as well... you have to wait for the reply as well... so it is not that convenient as well... take care and have a nice day...

I've been using the phone more to communicate with my friends back home. But even so this is quite costly. The thing with email is some of my friends don't go online most of the time. If I needed to tell them something and I fear I might forget it if I tell them later, I would opt for using the phone.

when i work in the office, i usually send email to my cusomters. after i finish email and i will check it again to see whether i have lost something. in that way, when i forget something,i can add it in the email again. but it does not do it if we talk by phone. And it costs much if we talk by phone. i also talk with my friends through MSN.
for something urgent, i also called customers and talked with them on the phones. anyway, i like email better than phone. Email is great!

Hihi,
For me, it is more of emailing.
I very seldom talk on the phone. This only happens when something can't be settled easily over email or sms.
I don't talk a lot anyway.

I use my email for people who don't live near me but still phone those close by. I mainly use email to send jokes to my friends. My phone still is my best friend and I don't think email will ever replace it for me. I just think it is nice to sit down and talk to my friends, to hear their voice and have a discussion. This is not something you can do with email I guess I am just a little behind the times.

I prefer using my phone, I rarely send emails, I tend to just receive them and most of them are spam. I check my three email accounts once a day, whereas I constantly have my phone with me and make a few phone calls a day and text a lot each day. Also phones are more practical as I can not take emails with me everywhere as even laptops are too large.

I use E-mail more than a phone. There wont be a network problem while chatting with friends in internet and also it is free to chat with friends who stays in other country while phone costs money and also sometimes network problem also will be there. Anyway i left using mobile from past six months.

Well I really do not have access to the computer unless I am at work. I usually use my phone more than the comp but It could all change if I ever get a comp!!! But you got to think to that the phone is so much quicker and easier access too

I'm with you there. I've never been much of a phone person to begin with. Yes, will make important calls, but have to admit would rather email as much as possible. My one friend must think I'm daft though..she literally lives down the block from me, yet instead of picking up the phone I'd rather email her..LOL I'm just a lot better expressing myself via email or writing to begin with

I do use my phone more than e-mail. But it might as well be e-mail. I use my phone mostly for texting. I hardly ever talk on the phone. And I hardly ever send e-mails. I may send an occasional message on myspace. But my communication with anyone is mostly through texting.

Hi there!
Since a lot of my friends are not into emails and IM I often use my cellphone to communicate with them. Most of them aren't working with computers also so I don't email them at all. I only use email and IM when communicating with my family especially my brother who'se always online and if I have to send big files in the internet.
But if I were to choose my preference, I would choose both. Each one has its own advantage. For me cellphone is the easiest way of communication. Just text or dial and you can reach a person instantly and vice versa. Its a very lightweight baggage and you can even just put it in your pocket.
Email or IM on the other hand can send bigger files and can occupy a lot of long messages. You can type and tell everything without having to worry about your bills cause most internet providers have a fixed rate not like in cellphone bills. You have to pay your exceeded calls and text.
I enjoy using both in communication and what would be applicable in reaching a person at a certain moment is fine with me. What matters to me is as long I can reach a person and vice versa fast enough, any type of communication will do.
Ciao!

I guess I am kind of old fashioned. While I don't really use a house phone (only a few times a week) I use my cell a lot for calls. Next way to communicate is texts. E-mails are generally short and quick answers or requests and mostly business related or something of that nature. I do use facebook messaging occasionally though
