From tmz.com:
No need to imagine at least two more years of slammer time for John Lennon's killer -- he just got denied parole, for the fifth time.
Mark David Chapman just got the big red X from the parole board at Attica, meaning he'll have to serve at least two more years there for the 1980 killing of the Beatle before his next chance at freedom. Parole peeps noted that MDC has had a clean record since 1994 but that his release "would not be in the best interest of the community."
Yoko had lobbied yesterday against Chapman's release.

Good, I am glad his parole was denied again. Now he wants to be free, he doesn't deserve this - ever. I was there that horrible day, I had just arrived after they rushed Lennon to the ER and it was a bad scene, thousands were out there to support our fallen "Beatle" everyone screaming, crying and singing his songs.

I was in Maryland but I remember the news coverage in our area went on and on. It was such a sad thing to have happened.

I hope that scum of the earth is never released and if he is I hope some madman does him in like he did to Lennon. This guy should rot forever. The sad part is that Lennon probably would have forgiven him! Not me though. He took a great man away from doing good in a world that needed him.

I couldn't agree with you more about everything you wrote. John was a wonderful, talented soul and I think that as long as Yoko has breath in her body, she will fight this loser ever seeing the light of day again.

i'm glad that his parole is being denied... he doesn't deserve to be released at all after what he had done to a great and talented musician like John Lennon... i don't understand why he had to kill such a great man... i hope he will rot in jail forever... take care and have a nice day...

As the sarcastic saying goes: couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
He should be in prison forever - I can't even believe that he even comes up on parole hearings, but then again - so does Charles Manson.
Some people just deserve to DIE in jail and he's one of them!
Too bad he didn't do it in Texas - they'd have him FRIED by now!

I hope this guy never gets released. He took a great musician from us. I feel like we were cheated, I know he had a lot more music to write. I still after all these years don't understand why this man felt he must kill John Lennon.

Personally, i'd say absolutely no parole. He robbed the world of a true artistic genius. Just think of what he could've done with the rest of his life, all the great music we are all missing out on... But I do agree that lennon himself would be a lot more merciful than I.

He should never be released. John will never be able to finish his music, enjoy his family or have the peaceful retirement in England that he so deserved. Why should Chapman be allowed to come out and have a life When he may also hurt or kill some other innocent person? Did they ever give Chapman Physciatric care? Can they ever say hes better or well? I have read all the conspiracy theories, but no matter what you believe,he dosent belong back on the streets.
