Do The Colour Of Your Clothes Describe Your Mood?

Do you feel completely different if you wear a certain colour? I mean moodwise? Do you have a preference for a particular colour because it makes you feel confident about yourself and makes you feel happy and speaks volumes about who you are?
It suddenly occurred to me, continuing from the dream about changing my dress sense, I love red and black,
But what do I wear? I look around my room and see I have a large quantity of blue garments
Blue is plain, blue is drab, dull and boring isn't it. Yet all I seem to wear is different shades of blue.
Blue equals feeling blue!
How do you feel when you are dressed in blue? Have you noticed your moods are different depending on what colour clothes you wear?
Yet when I wear red I feel much more confident, red is my lucky colour, red is vibrant, fiery, alive, electric, red is more wolfie and it makes me happier so surely I should start wearing more red
An acquaintance told me last week to start wearing black, because black shows off the muscles more
So what do you reckon, wearing blue doesn't suit me and I should change to red and black?
So does the colour of your clothes describe you and your moods?

Hi wolfie, yes I believe colors do have an impact on our moods. When we look at different colors we feel different emotions, even "crib mobiles" hanging over an infants crib has vibrant colors to act as a visual stimulant so it should have the same effect on us when we use different color clothes.

As you said, "When I wear red I feel much more confident, red is my lucky colour, red is vibrant, fiery, alive, electric, red is more wolfie" then you should wear more red for sure and save the black for when you are in a sexy mood!

Hi Wolfie, I went for a colour analysis years ago and it confirmed that the best colour for me to wear was a blue red rather than an orange red and in fact when I wear a blue red I feel good automatically, it lifts my face and lifts my mood. I don't suit yellow at all so can wear a beige but not a cream. Black looks good on most people and would also emphasize your muscles. With the blues, I guess it would depend on the shade, if you have blue eyes a t-shirt matching then would make then look great and make the whole of you sparkle. I would just wear what you know you look and feel good in myself andred sounds like it does it for you so go with that one. Ellie :D

I do have blue piercing eyes which is one of my best qualities and I seem to be complimented about them. But I also feel more alive in red, so red it is, interesting that there is a colour analysis. I hate browns and greens they just don't suit me, I like bright colours, hence red but never orange, orange is OTT LOL! It's definitely a science for sure my friend!

Hi Wolfie, Wow another best response, thank you so much. You have fun living dangerously and passionately in red but not angrily as red is associated with all these things. Sounds like you have a fairly good idea of what suits and whats doesn't though. In a colour anaylsis they have large watches of different shades that they put up against you and from the ones that suit decide whetehr you are a spring, summer, autumn of winter colour person and do a portfolio of the exact shades of any colour that bring you alive. I like reds, blacks, browns, and my favorite color is purple. I think some people can wear certain colors better. I dont think pinks and pastels look as good as the darker colors, on me. I like the earthtones alot too. Maybe we pick out clothes not realising that we are in a certain mod, we just dont know it lol

Yes I do feel different in what I am wearing. If I have jammies on I feel loose and comfy. If I have tight pants and fitted shirt on I feel sexy. If I am wearing a thong I feel frisky. I have been told that yellow is supposed to make you feel happy, so I have been trying to pick up them.
But my favorite color is pink and do wear that often. Also I love funky pants. I don't wear too many blue jeans, but will wear camouflage, pink, red, purples, and printed pants. I think it shows off my best features which at 5"10 are my legs. LOL

Yes I believe it can. I where cloths not for the design but just to be comfortable. I like whereing blue shirts at night because the colors have been know to relax you people more than other colors. Dark cloths during the summer suck. Also i've heard that the color red has been proven more than other colors to get people mad. This is just what i've heard but no where near as bad as bulls, lol. I like to where red to get pumped up about the day and get more things done such as exericise, sports, or just being more energetic to get more done in less time. I use to like to where t-shirts with pictures on them more often but it seems like lots of t-shirts these days have pictures of skulls on them everywhere. It does not bother me and like this shirts but theres just too many of them.

Different colors have effect on your thinking, feelings and executing. As you say with the red color you are more confident. Some people like wearing light colours some likes Fast colors. The mood is not the only factor if your mood is to wear black cloths what will be your mood sad or happy. It also need a combination of color. If you are fair complexion the black color will certainly look very good on you.
Think of a black man wearing a black shirt and black pent with black Cap how you will like it. To me one should choose cloths which by wearing should be matching and do not appear odd.
There is no denial that colors have an effect on our thoughts and feelings and they also encourage or discourage our luck also.
How you like this please comment.

Strangely enough I like to wear plain blue or pinstripes as my formal wear to the office most of the time.I consider it as sober. My casual wears are a riot of colors.
My mood sure get elevated if I fell that I am well dressed and being observed with appreciative looks.

Usually...well, at least on the days that I'm paying attention to what I'm wearing...and I usually don't. I dig around blindly, "I need some pants I don't care which ones!" haha!
Black is my favorite color, so when I'm feeling confident or artistic I wear black. The crazier the patterns and colors I wear, the more spontaneous/restless I'm feeling.
Lighter colors go for lighter moods.
And the rest usually reflects my feelings about the weather, or what I'm doing that day say.

Hello dear wolfie. I agree with you that the color of the clothes shows somewhat our mood. Usually I love light-color T-shirts and shirts in summer, but I love dark-color clothes in winter or on cold days. My favorite colors are white, black, blue, navy blue, gray and so on. I usually wear my clothes based on the weather that affects my mood. Take care, wolfie.

Sometimes, maybe it does, but for me i just want to wear any kind of clothes, different colors that makes me feel comfortable. I love mixing colors, but i don't think that it will reflect on my mood, i always think for something that makes me look great. ^__^

Not at all. I just wear what suits the weather. It is hot here in the Philippines. So I usually wear white or light colors. I dont wear black that much even though its my favorite color. Dark colored clothes traps heat and that will make me sweat.

Color of clothes doesn't do anything with my mood. Majority of my clothes are black in color but it doesnt really mean that I am mourning or what, it's just that i love wearing something that will make my complexion stand out from the crowd =p

yes, i feel different if i wear a certain colour, i am not comfort and confident with another colour beside black and white, i wear blue colour too when i wear my jeans, i just mix and match my style, when i must go to the party or meeting i must change my dress sense.

Yes, the color of my clothes sometimes define my mood. I mean, when I am feeling really sunny, I wear some pastel colored clothes and when I feel drepressed, I wear those dark colored things that makes me look like the rain clouds! LOL Anyway, these things don't happen all the time. There are times when I simply don't have the luxury to choose what to wear so I end up wearing something that does not really describe the way I feel.

I have heard this before but I am not to sure that it fit for everyone. I always go into my closet the night before and make sure I have an outfit ready to wear the next morning to save time. I will normally just go in there find something that I haven't worn for a while and that is what I choose to wear. I might be in a diffrent mood that night then I am the next day but I still wear the pre choosen outfit so I don't think it matters to me at least what mood I am in.
