Ice Cream and French Fries?

Is it only me or there is other person here who likes to put ice cream on their french fries? I found it delicious, even it would be a little bit weird to put them together, like there is hot-cold salty-sweet sensation.
I would like to know if I am not alone...

You're not alone. I like it too. When I eat at Mc Donalds or Jollibee, I have vanilla ice with french fries. I love to eat two different taste at the same time.
When I eat at ChowKing, I usually have halo-halo with chili sauce.

Halo-halo is a food for the angels, it has halo. Just kidding.
Halo-halo is a dessert. It is a mixture of shaved ice with evaporated milk added with sweetened fruits like jackfruit, plantains, ube, beans with leche flan, coconut meat, sago, gelatin and topped with a scoop of ice cream. It's simple cold, and delicious. We love having halo-halo on a hot weather.

I tend to dip them in milkshakes myself. It tends to be a whole bunch of flavors though, because I like to try flavor combinations.
My favorite ever flavor combination is pumpkin and blackcherry together -- it tastes like a very strange cousin of chocolate!
I'm also had bubblegum peanutbutter, pineapple rasberry, rootbeer cherry...and I forget what all else. Our local ice cream shop knows me by my orders, because I think I'm the only one who ever does strange combinations like this.
But I always, ALWAYS dip my french fries in whatever ice cream flavor I have at the time. I started out with french fries in chocolate ice cream, though, and that'll always be the most nostalgic to me.

^_^ Thankee, Klaudine. I like being strange, so I suppose that might be why -- I haven't tried to discourage myself!
Mwuah, I shall pop up randomly all over mylot!

Again and again, xParanioax, you beat me in being a weirdo. LOL. I thought I can be the weirdest among all and you just came and beat me in the fries dipping contest. LOL. You are so surprising individual, xParanoiax, never thought you're going to participate here too. LOL.

I have never tried it, I always thought it would be gross. But I have a lot of friends that like to do it, so it can't taste that bad.

Going to go with most others and say you aren't alone! It is an amazing combination. In fact, I know most of my friends also like to do this. At Wendy's (a fast food restaurant) we always get Frosty's and fries. Basically ice cream in a cup. And the fries we get to dip. It's so good!

I have never tried that! I think the hot and cold would hurt my teeth. I used to love those pretzel flipz with chocolate and salt-mmmmmm. They stopped selling them though, which is rubbish.
Maybe you could invent french fries with an icecream filling, like stuffed crust pizza but sweet and salty. Mmm, actually, maybe I will try fries and icecream.......

I am sure that this is not too bad of a combination, but nothing I would consider. This to me sounds a little odd. And don't this make the Fries too cold to want to eat and soggy, or do you dip your fries into the Ice Cream?

Well.. this is how to do that. Just consider that the soft ice cream is the sauce, and you dip it just like you dip your fries in the mayonaise or sauce. and eat it with the ice cream in the tip of the fries. Still sounds odd? Give it a try you might like it. :)

No,Klaudine, you're not the only one.
I first knew about this from my nephews (6 & 8 years old). They were telling me that dipping French fries in ice-cream is nice; kept asking me to try. Never did, however the kids seem to enjoy it very much!

You are not alone! I remember having that as a child. My aunt would buy us chocolate frosties and french fries at Wendy's and we would dip the fries in the ice cream :) It became such a tradition that we stopped having ketchup with the fries, lol. It is still definitely one of my favorite treats!

Urgh. It sounds really foul to be honest and defiently not something I'll be trying! I just think the mix of salty hot potatoe and sweet cold cream would not be very nice. I think I will stick to dipping things like biscuits and wafers in my ice cream and chips in tomato sauce, mayonaise or bbq sauce.

you are not alone, and i am alone it seems to be that everybody tried this already except me. i must try that. why i am always the last person in finding new cool things i am just a common conservative person who eat ice cream alone, and never mix it with something weird. the only food i ever mix with ice cream is blended avocado. wow, that's very delicious! the naturally delicious taste of avocado mixing with the moderate sweetness of ice cream create a sensational new taste, maybe much better that ice cream + french fries LOL. just kidding, don't get offended please LOL.
ok, i am conservative about ice cream, but i have completely different personality if we are talking about milk. there is no other drink-related food i never mix with milk. just name it: tea, coffee, ginger, coca cola, any blended fruit like mango, avocado, papaya, apple, melon, banana; carrot, (young?) coconut meat, honey. the only fruit i cannot mix with milk is orange and other citric fruit.

LOL I think you have missed all the fun here since you have never tried it before But I should admit that I am so impressed that you have so much experiences with blended milk. I haven't tried that much. I never blend fruit in the milk and I think I am a little bit left out because I think people tried that with milk. LOL. Thank you for cheering up my day sutan, your post today was really funny LOL

you are definitely not alone, my dear. my sister and i always do that. it is not weird. actually, almost all friends enjoy dipping a fries or two in vanilla ice cream. i never dipped fries on any other flavor of ice cream except for vanilla. i find the taste of fries dipped in strawberry-flavored ice cream quite odd.
other odd ice cream flavors/fries combo are ube, mango, chocolate, quezo, uh, what else...and the rest ice cream flavors :D
