Do you re-format your computer often?

I used to re-format my computer once a year (clean everything off and re-install everything-start from scratch you might say)
Is this necessary? Do any of you do that?
I guess I like to do that to clean it and have everything working quicker.

I used to reformat my hdd often about 3 times a week. But not now, often lost my data so i stop the habit, maybe it useful on the old days but it useless for nowadays i guess..

Once every half a year sounds about right. By then, my computer would be cluttered and slowed down enough to bug me to do something about it. Then I'd take drastic action by formatting my computer. Otherwise, I'd just bear with it, and wish I had a better computer. =P

Re-Formatting a computer is not a good idea. Instead you must periodically clean up and scan your computer using necessary tools. Also a good Anti-Virus saves us from a lot of trouble. Ensure to clean up your temp folder many a times. If there is a problem in your computer try out everything possible and only the re-format.

I never do this. I see reformatting as a last-resort thing if your computer isn't working and nothing else you've tried fixes it. I just run regular virus and spyware checks, and defragment one a regular basis (okay not as regular as I SHOULD, but I try.) :)

reformating your PC to often is not healthy for your harddisk, trust me.
But i gues its just ok to reformat your pc once every year to make everything clean.
But backing up files and re-installation might take some time, and there is a possibility that some files will be missed.
I personally only format my computer when something goes wrong, during virus attacked or something.
