mini blackouts/dizziness, what could be causing it?

Since mid-July, I've been having mini blackouts and dizziness. Sometimes, them come from standing up too quickly, though, most of the time - it just hits me out of no where. It's mostly dizziness that has been bothering me. At first thought, I figured I was eating enough, but, I think I am. I try to eat at least two (I tend to get up after breakfast because I work 3rd shift often) healthy meals a day, sometimes with fruit in between. I don't know what else could be causing it? If you have any idea or think it is because I'm not eating enough - do share, please!

This sounds very much like what i went through, just before I decided to talk to my doc and he had me come in once a week at diff time of the day each time, and check my Blood Pressure, turns out it was too high. He put me on meds for it and within a cpl days the symptoms stopped. I knotice that if i miss my med two days in a row..i will start getting the dizziness again, if i miss one im ok but two in a row and i start feeling the affect. It wouldnt hurt to have it monitored..most docs will let you wakl in and have them check it without them charging for the visit cuz the nurse can do it.

I thought it may have something to do with my migraines. I get at least one a week. A lot of the people on my dad's side of the family does as well. I get those nasty ones that are senstive to light, sound, smell - pretty much everything! When I was in 8th grade, I went to the doctor about it and they said it was coming from the lights used in the school I went to. Well, that has been 5 years ago, and in the 9th grade I switched to homeschooling. So, it wasn't the lights. It's just something that runs in the family, I guess.

There might be a possibility that you are pregnant. The same thing happened to me throughout my pregnancy. I'd get very dizzy and have to sit, sometimes I'd black out and when I came to, I'd sometimes throw up. Get a pregnancy test.

It could be almost anything. Is your BP under control?

That used to happen to me a lot. After I got a blood pressure cuff and could take my pressure as soon as I could get it on, I found that my blood pressure "roller coasters" It will go way up, then drop suddenly. That's when I get dizzy. In a few minutes it will return to normal so the Dr. could never find anything wrong. This always happened when I was overly tired or mentally stressed.
I started taking hawthorn berry capsules to keep it regulated and that's working fine for me.
My son also has these dizzy spells, but some of them are a little different than others. Now that he's used to them, he can tell which one is caused by his blood pressure dropping, and which one is caused by blood sugar dropping. He has to be careful to balance carbs and protein or his blood sugar will drop. He's not a diabetic. Since he's learned to stabilized his blood sugar, his blood pressure is usually stable too.
Oh yes, I did mean dropping. Most people find an increase of blood pressure or blood sugar causes these symptoms, in our family it's always a drop that causes it.

Both over eating = Dizziness and under eating = weakness. I had been feeling like that when I controlled my diet on the advise of the doctor and dietitian. I become so week that I started feeling trembling while staring or otherwise.

I am no doctor but I think that it may be caused my your Blood pressure or cholesterol or i think your brain is not getting much blood so it may be a response to it. Well whatever seems the problem just consult a good reputed doctor and i wish your fast recovery. Hope you good luck and try to follow what your doctor says not these responses.

I really think you should consult a doctor. This sounds dangerous to me. You could black out and really hurt yourself. Have you had your blood sugar checked? Also three meals a day would be better than two. Better still 5 small meals some consisting of fruit or vegetables. Take it easy on the salt and avoid soft drinks unless they are sugar free. Take care of yourself.

i even had a iodine scan done, were there shoot the iodine in your vanes and then x-ray
your head.

you should check with an ear , nose throat doctor.

You may want to check to see if you are hydrated enough. Dehydration could easily cause dizziness. It's something you may want to look into because dehydration is dangerous, but very simple to fix. Just drink more water. Another thought could be that you have low blood pressure. I was prescribed a blood pressure medicine for another condition I have and since I didn't have high blood pressure it lowered it a lot. A simple fix for this was taking salt tablets to get my blood pressure normal. However this was done under a doctors supervision so if the problem ends up not being dehydration, I would see your doctor about it.
