Questions about 666

i have had it be a lucky number for me believe it or not.. and i agree with the first person that i think its a superstition brought on by a misunderstanding in how the bible.. they think that 666 was a numeric code for nero and of course they couldnt write NERO so they coded it and believed he was the anti-christ.. there are a few other theory's but it all comes down to a code so the actual numbers arent what to fear its just a hint on the identity if that makes any sense..

The number doesn't mean anything at all to me Just a number like any other number. I can tell you that it adds up, as far as numerology goes, to 9. Does that help you?

Actually, 666 does not mean anything and it is not the devil's number. It is actually 616 that is Satan's number.

I personally don't think anything of any number. I don't have bad feelings toward 13 or 666. I don't have good feelings toward any number either. I have always found it sort of silly to have a "favorite" number. Well, unless you are a sports player I suppose. Aside from that, I think it is superstition.

Hi Shelly, I am not superstitious as such but I would never purchase a car or a bike with 666 in the number plate and I don't like i at work if one of the marines happens to spend an amount of 6.66 and try to prompt for them to spend more as if it is some sort of omen to them before they go out to Iraq or Afghanistan but I suggest you reach 666 and thenpost another discussion or respond to another pretty quick. It is said that 666 is a symbol foe devil. It sounds scary. But I just don't think about it. So I will not get affected especially if i encounter the number 666 in my daily living.

Hi ShellyB,666 is the number of the beast,more specifically the beast from the sea ,usually called "The Antichrist".If you want to read more into the meaning of 666 you certainly can, but I think you're just being overly superstitious.Nothing to fear about the devils number.When you get 666 post just do another post and move forward to 667 nothing's going to happen.I think that a number is not going to effect our lives.cheers...

Biblically speaking, 666 is the "Mark of the Beast" (aka, the Anti-Christ). But, I have no reason to "fear" the number or consider it bad luck. Am I going to pick it for a lottery number? No! But I don't worry about it. You have to get "through" the number to get to the next one! No stopping that! LOL By the way, the number 7 is also considered, Biblically speaking, God's perfect number. Do I consider it "lucky"? No. I understand it's Biblical meaning, but for every day use, it's just a number also.

As you may not know, in China, 666 is a very good number, means smooth, successful, well-off, etc., now your count number 669 is much better, means "successful" last "for long". Congratulations!

a 666 literal number is not bad and yes, it is in the bible and it signifies a beast, which is if you dig deeper on the texts, represents a religion. 666 is not evil itself, the name that represents it is the evil one, but i cannot tell you because it is a very sensitive topic. IT is not a bad luck, so do not worry.

I actually think it's just what you are believing yourself about 'unlucky numbers' like 13 or 666. For some it means bad luck, but for some it's luck! Anyway, what I'm trying to say here, that it's all just in your head..You shouldn't be afraid of numbers, because they really can't do really any harm. I mean, I've never had an accident or whatever on the 13th of Friday! And I think it's just because I don't believe in the bad luck that's hanging around those numbers. Like I said; It's all in your head !

My feelings on the 666 number are the same as they are for any other number. It's a really dumb superstition if you ask me. I mean c'mon, it's just a number. I don't think it's bad luck either and I'm not christian so I don't know anything about the bible. The only reason people say it's bad luck is because they believe it's bad luck and they turn it into bad luck (sorry if it sounds kind of confusing lol, I can't really explain myself very well here). So yeah, it's just a regular number and should not be considered bad luck if you ask me.

Why should it be bad luck? You will, no doubt, reach that number and pass it in a couple of posts. Think about it. Did anything terrible happen to you when you were 666 days old, or 666 hours old (and so on ...)? When were you last 666 miles from home? The Book of Revelation 13:18 has (KJV): "Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man" in other words, it refers (in code) to a specific person, often thought to be the Emperor Nero. Even the number is in dispute because some early versions would seem to give 616 or 665, not 666. It all depends on the copying of a single letter.

I really think that's just another superstition that's gotten way out of hand! Just like Friday the 13th. Luck is what you make it!

Just because 666 is written as though it is the devil's number in the bible, doesn't mean you should believe it, what if the bible said every number was the devil's number, would you believe it then?
