I can't afford photoshop so I am using photo explosion. I like it pretty well. I can do quite a bit with it. So what program do you use? What kinds of things do you do with it?

I like Gimp Shop cuz it's totally free and totally professional: http://plasticbugs.com/?page_id=294 Why folks continue to shell out big bucks for photoshop is their business, but I find that using Gimp Shop is easier and pleasant, too! The site members are also very supportive and friendly to all thier users, and that's a bonus!

I just got GIMP and am still figuring it out, but it's got a lot more features than I expected. I really think it's going to be the program I use from now on. There is also Paint.net, which I like, but it has its quirks and limitations.

I use Adobe Photoshop CS3. I usually just make minor adjustments- levels, contrast, curves, saturation, etc. Often I will remove red eye, or remove unwanted articles from my photos. Quite often I will crop my photos. Occasionally I will sharpen the image, or reduce noise. Sometimes I change the photo from color to black and white. Sometimes I'll do a selective color technique where part of the photo is in color, but the rest is in black and white. Sometimes part of a photo will be under or overexposed so I'll correct it using a layer mask. Sometimes I'll change the colors in my photo, or add a gradient. I don't usually do a whole lot of manipulation with my images.

A Black and White Sketch Colorized with PSP - I drew this guy with charcoal pencil on a newsprint pad and then inked over the lines and scanned a photo into PaintShop Pro, which I used to clean up the lines and then fill the solid areas with color.
I use PaintShop Pro and have not upgraded since the makers, JASC, sold out to Corel a while back. That would be version 9. I use it for an awful lot of things, mostly to crop and edit photos for publication on my blogs and to clean up and colorize line drawings of my own art work. Here is an example:

I use photoshop cs 2. But I've heard that the best free program to use is "Gimp". Even though I have never used Gimp, I've heard nothing but great things about it. I love Photoshop too much to ever try anything else..LOL But there is a cool free website online where you can edit your photo's and give them cool effects and even add animations to your pics, it's call LunaPic ( just do a search for LunaPic). I use photoshop to make digital art,photo-editing,animations and I make my own custom brushes. I'm very addicted to photoshop. I have used other graphic imaging software like paint shop pro and a few others but my favorite will and always be adobe photoshop. Rumor has it that Adobe is planing on making a online free version of Photoshop. We shall see!

I use photoshop CS3 and paint shop pro. They both have their plus and minus. Adobe announced today that they are releasing CS4 in a few months that's a complete re-write of the existing applications and also take total advantage of your video card (and is totally compatible with Vista...which a lot of things aren't). PSP is a memory hog (Photoshop isn't much better). I also use Adobe Fireworks a lot.

We have this scanner that came with its photo software called Ulead photo. I use this program to edit some photos from my cell phone and other digital cameras. Once in a while, I use this to edit the size of my photos to use as avatars in some of my sites.

I use both Photoshop CS3 and Paint Shop Pro. Each has it's own advantages/disadvantages. I also use Adobe Fireworks.

I have Photoshop, but don't use it much these days; PaintShopPro is what I prefer, and I have been using it since Version 3. I usually upgrade and I am currently on the most recent version (Pro Photo X2). I use it for downloading, reviewing, adjusting and editing, both minor and major, as well as for converting photos to "paintings' and illustrations, for digitizing pictures, and for repairing old and damaged pictures. I also make use of XnView and Picassa (both free).

I am a web/graphic designer and use Photoshop CS3 Extended and also, Paint Shop Pro XI. Photoshop is an amazing program I must admit (if you know how to use every single tool), and it's great for editing things you don't want out of pictures. However, Paint Shop Pro XI is what I'd prefer for graphic making. I think it's made more for graphics than photos anyway. Photofiltre is an easy-to-use program and truthfully, it's just as good as Paint Shop Pro if you know how to do everything on the program. In my opinion, Photoshop isn't worth the price it is because there are plenty other programs out there, free and cheap, that are just as good and don't take a gigantic chunk out of your funds.

I use Paint Shop Pro X-3 but there are older versions like 9 or 10 that should be super cheap with the newer versions out.
