Has anyone ever read any books by Jodi Picoult?

I am asking this because I have just read one of her books for the first time and I thought it was really good! It was called Vanishing Acts and was about a girl who lived with her Dad believing that her Mum had died when she was little, but she later found out that her Dad had in fact kidnapped her! At first I was not too sure about it and it seemed to jump from person to person a lot, but as the story unfolded it became more and more gripping with lots of surprising things in it. It was a really good read! Have you ever read this book or any of her books, what do you think? Can you recommend any other of her books that are good?

I have read "The Plain Truth". I plan on reading more Jodi Picoult as I really enjoyed her writing and story. I haven't gotten around to it yet though. As an aside, "The Plain Truth" movie was on television here in Ontario last night. Of course how do you fit a book like that into 2 hours of television? You skip stuff which means the book is always better than the movie. Mariska Hargitay starred in it.

Yes, I always prefer to read the book than to watch the movie, there is just so much more to the book and I can use my imagination much more.

i have also seen "The Plain Truth"- it was on the Lifetime network here. it was good. i have not yet read the book, but it is another one by her that is on my list to read. Another one of her books was just made into a Lifetime movie as well- it's called "The Tenth Circle." i also watched the movie when it came out and it was very good. i wanted to wait and read the book first, because once i see the movie i won't usually read the book- i feel like it spoils it. but i couldn't wait to watch the movie so i did! lol

yes, i have read jodi picoult. i found the book Nineteen Minutes at the library by accident when it first came out, and it was so good that she became one of my new favorite authors. I also read Salem Falls and My Sister's Keeper. Both were very good. I would definitely recommend reading more of her books. I have The Pact but have not yet read it.

good idea! her books are great! Nineteen Minutes really had me thinking about the hardships of teenagers- not that i would agree with what happened in the book, but it definitely makes you think. My Sister's Keeper was a very good book by her as well. One of the sisters has leukemia i believe it was and the book is about how it impacted the other sister and the family members. Surprise ending!

Nineteen Minutes is a really good, compelling, thought provoking page turner. Can't recommend it highly enough. I've been told My Sisters Keeper is also supposed to be good but not yet read it.

I've read a couple. I have read Vanishing Acts, and The Pact. I have another one by her but can't remember the title. I like her plot lines, and I can't wait to see how they turn out, but she's a little long winded for me. It just seems like she draws the stories out a bit too much and that get's a little annoying for me. I don't often skip ahead to find out what happens, but when I read her books, I'm very tempted to do so.

I found the book slow going at first, and put it down for a while at one point, but I am glad that I carried on with it as it became a really good read then.

I read My Sister's Keeper. It was a very powerful book that made really made me think. I was just given Picture Perfect but have not read it yet. I'm hoping that all her books take me to a deeper level of thinking like that one did.

I've read quite a few of her books and like them too. You have to read My Sisters Keeper, that's the best one I've read of her's so far. Change of heart is another one, Plain Truth, Salem Falls, Vanishing Acts, Pact, The Tenth Circle and there are a few others. She's become one of my favorite authors.
