No I don't think so. For one thing I really don't think they do put smoking in any movie geared toward young children anyway. Trying to remove it from every movie and where does it end. I don't want people killing either, but I'll watch a movie about it. Not going to make me go out and kill anyone. People shouldn't have affairs, so then we'd have to take that out of movies as well. No, that just won't due. While I'm glad smoking is no longer glamorized like it use to be in movies. Writers and directors should still be free to put in a smoking scene if they wish, for whatever artistic purpose they feel.

We know that smoking is very harmful for health. Nodody should smoke at open field. The non-smokers can also be affected by the smokers. Especially Children. In many movies, we see, the heroes and villains are smoking. The viewers specially the young generation are inspired to smoke this way. They may start smoking after watching such kind of movies. They may be addicted. Ultimately it would be harmful to civilized society. So I think smoking scene should be banned in movies.

There won't be any movies left to make if you try to take out evey scene that has harmful things or that involves illegal actions, or, that might be directing children in the wrong direction.
Isnt that what the movie ratings are for?

I dont believe so, cause its your choice to start or quit smoking, or never start in the first place, and I dont think that seeing it in a movie would change your mind. Yes... kids, teenagers and young adults are really influenciated by the entertainment bussiness but if you have learn that you choose, the fact of being on the movie screen doesnt mean that you have to do it, just because it is there...

Yes, & the fact is that study after study has shown that the PARENTS are the BIGGEST influence in a child's life. So even though there are temptations for them out there, if the child is reared in a place where the parents CARE & teach them how to make good decisions, THAT ultimately will guide them through their lives more than any media influence.

Yes, I believe that is possible. Though for the older people, it wont help because they may already smoke but at least it can prevent young kids into smoking. media is far the biggest medium in influencing young kids and young adults into doing these things, aside from peers. If we show less of these, these kids won't even try to follow the example.

I don't think it should as long as I can't smell it I don't care now if the person is smoking around a child I think that should be banned. As long as parents talk to their kids about the things that can happen from smoking I don't think its telling kids to go out and smoke.

Hi antony2best, I would agree with such scenes being removed, as it may have some affect on yong people. As you say smoking is very injurious to our health and I would favour anything that would help people to quit, or better still, not start smoking. Blessings.

well, i dont think so. those scences should be allowed. they dont have any impact any impact. spoiled brats will get spoiled any way. if they sensor boards fells s bad scence show in movies spoil children mind, then they have to impose ban drinking, killing, romantic, rape scences. they also affect childrens thinking. i dont know how these sensor boards get these ideas. i fell, they can imposes ban up to certain extent but not completely.

Nope. It's a movie/series. We need to be teaching our kids what's right and what's wrong. They need to be able to tell what is real and what is fake. There is no way I think movies should be censored in this way.

A person who is in particular is quite famous, should never be allowed to smoke in movies or serials as the younger people starts copying them and liken to become one of them. in this way promoting smoking. Ya in turn it should also not be totally banned to shown people smoke but it it should be allowed in cases of serials or movies showing some social cause then only it must be allowed.

I'm so sorry for coming in so late. Yes I'm in the favor of that for the sake of children specially. Because their minds are very impressionable and they don't know pros and cons of this kind of things.

Yes such scenes of smoking should be removed. The childrens nowadays try all sorts of bad habbits and they will get spoiled by seeing allthese movies which have smoking and other kind of bad habbits. Keep posting and have a nice day.

some movies are made to reflect lifestyle as it is, and if youre removing smiking scenes or harmful scenes, it might also become a negative impact on the "young minds", creating a fantasy of the adult world that doesnt exist.
even with these cirminal scenes in movies, tv shows nowadays, children and teens still don't have a clear view of what world lies ahead of them when they turn into an adult.
removing the scenes with just act as a catalyst to this

Smoking is injurious to health. In today movies, every movie has smoking and drinking scenes. it is good to remove those scenes from movies. However many times these scenes might be relevant. These scenes encourage youth to get addicted to smoking and drinking. It is every ones duty to discourage people from smoking and drinking.

I know smoking can affect your health, and there are people who smoke that got started because they saw someone on a movie or television smoking which that is not the fault of the movie or the show,it is the fault of the person who decided to start smoking,I honestly think that it would be stupid to remove the footage of people smoking just to try and prevent people from smoking, because if they want to smoke they are going to smoke regardless of whether or not they see it on television or in a movie.

No, i dont smoke iv never smoked, but i dont think they should remove smoking scenes from films, because occasionally i use to watch movies as a child were people smoked in the film but watching it never made me want to smoke, and i understand that parents want to shield there children away from inappropriate content, but i dont think that they should remove smoking scenes in movies, because there are a lot of good movies that happen to have smoking scenes in them, hundreds and thousands of movies that have those kinds of scenes, and in some cases the smoking scene might play a small but important part in a scene and if it were removed it might take something away from the film, and to remove every smoking scene in every film i think would be to drastic for the film industry dont get me wrong i dont condone smoking and i do think at the very least, they should have some kind of parental warning or advisory before the film begins and lets not forget we do have a new feature on our TV's called parental locks.

NO they should not be removed. Let us remember that they are MOVIES. If you don't want to see it then turn it off. Funny thing to me everybody wants to complain about the effect that movies have on our young people...well mine is equipped with an OFF button.

No i personally dont think such scene;'s should be removed because a person who wishes to smoke will still continue to do the same irrespective to what happens in teh movie..if one is really concerened about not letting your children smoke then they should educate them about these things and the governement instead of baning ciggerrtes in movies should ban cigg in teh first place
