It's a boy!!!!

My son and his girlfriend went to their sonogram appointment today. They called and our first grandchild is a BOY. I really wanted a girl, but I will love him just as much. My step mother is psychic and she told me it was a boy two months ago. I have to believe that my step mother is correct on some things. I am looking forward to telling my husband when he gets home in the next few minutes. He is going to be a grandpa of a boy. Our boy is due February 22, 2009. I will keep you posted when they have a name.

I know that is exciting. We never wanted to know the gender of our babies and my daughter did not, either. But our son's wife was pregnant this spring and they found out it was a boy. So we had the last few months anticipating what he would look like, who he would favor, etc. And, when he came in July, he didn't disappoint any of us. He is a beautiful baby. And I know your grandson will be just as sweet and beautiful. Congratulations to the grandparents and the parents-to-be.

Thank you. Our daughter is 30 and I never had a sonogram with her, to new of technology. When I got pregnant with our son I had two sonograms, because the doctor thought the due date was way off, the second sonogram brought the due date up even closer. He was a planned C-section so the doctor told me that I may have a little baby, but he did not want me to go into labor and rupture my uturs so I had him March 6, 1982. Well guess what he was not not premature, small or anything else. He came out at 8lbs 3oz 21 inches long. I say almost the size of his sister which was 8lbs 7oz, 21 inches long. Both of my babies where nice sized. Now the mother of my grand baby is a small woman so I hope she does not have any problems.I know our grandson will be beautiful.

No, there were no sonograms back when I had my children. My son is 40 and my daughter is 37. But the first doctor I had in the military told us it was going to be a boy. When he got out of the military and I got another OB/GYN doctor, he also told us it was a boy and it was. But he wouldn't say anything with the girl. I just claimed it was a girl, and it was. I know you are excited about the grandbaby. And I am sure he will be beautiful. All babies are beautiful to me and they are SO loving! Nothing like a newborn to cuddle with. I am keeping our new grandson tomorrow. He's 2 mos and 10 days old tomorrow.

Thank you, I have been waiting for my daughter to have one for a long time also. She has been trying for over 5 years. I wish it was her instead of my son. I do love my son and his girlfriend. I just know how much my daughter wants a baby. I do not say anything to her because it brings up old wounds.

the funny thing is I have three friends who have children who are all pregnant. One friend is expecting her second one in May and a friend who is having her first one in June and then my first grand baby is due in February. We are all so happy to be grandmothers and to share them with each other.

Well congratulations. Children are always something to cherish. No matter if they are male or female, you will be in for several more years of happy memories. Who knows, perhaps the next one will be a girl. But in the meantime, enjoy the moments you will have with this one, they definitely grow fast.

Thanks for your kind words. I do believe that children are a gift to be cherished. I hope when our daughter gets pregnant it is a girl. I have requested for her to have a girl. Her husband says the men in his side of the family only throw boys. I told him I do not care but I order a girl. Who knows what we will get I will love him/her very much. I do love to tease my son in-law about it. I would love 4 or 5 grandchildren if we have two grand children from each child that would be fine, but what ever they decide will be fine with me. I will love them all. I guess I should not count my chickens before they are hatched. heehee. The first one needs to be born healthy and happy.

For some cultures... a boy is like double the blessing... but i think the same way with girls too... So congratulations on your future grandson... i am sure you are very excited to hold and play with him... the wait won't be that long... and you have plenty of time to prepare for his arrival...

October 22 my daughter and I are going to go to their home to help get the room ready. We are also going to spend some time together. Our daughter is planning a baby shower of her soon to be sister-in-law. I am glad the girls get along so well. This baby has brought the kids closer together. I am loving that.

Yes she was right, I do believe she has a gift. She has helped police at crime scenes, she has written several books and someone from Hollywood would like to make a program out of her life. I hope she makes loads of money from a program of her life.

That is awesome news!! Congratulations to the parents AND grandparents, and everyone else involved. I love my granddaughter to the ends of the earth and back. She is just a great joy in our lives. I remember when I was pregnant, in 1979, there were no sonograms. But I had only a boy's name picked out. People asked why and I said that I always knew I would have a boy first, then a girl, two years apart, in the spring. Well, wouldn't you know that is just what happened. HEHE!! Who needed a sonogram?!! LOL I wish only great health, lots of love (which I know he will get), strength of character, honesty, compassion and knowledge to that little angel.

We had a girl first then a boy three years later. Now the kids are going to have this amazing baby boy. I sure hope he is not like his father, boy was he a crier and a difficult child to raise. He about put me in the loony bin, I guess that is why I wanted a girl because our daughter was sleeping all night by the time she was 7 weeks old, she was not a bit of trouble. She was an easy child I just hope that is what they have.

Congrats!! I know it's a joy especially when it's the first one. I have 4 grandsons and 2 granddaughters, and they all fill my heart with joy. Although I don't see them much, because we're many miles away from each other, but I talk to them often on the phone. I haven't seen my new granddaughter yet, she was born on Sept.7th, the same day as her oldest brother. I hope to go back home soon to visit and even thinking about staying because I miss being around them. Children are truly a blessing from God!! God Bless!!

If you can move closer to your grandchildren I think that would be great. My grandson to be will be 4 hours away from us. I am sure I will be seeing him often. I think my hubby will love to see also. Good luck with your decision.

When I talked to my son's girlfriend yesterday I said "Now you will have to decide upon a name." She said "Oh we have a list of names for a boy, for a girl and for cats."heehee. I just had to laugh because they have three cats. Don't worry they will keep them out of the crib.

Hey tea! Congrats Grandma! I think that's great! I love little boys! I would rather have a little boy then a little girl! Little girls are too whiny! I sure was! Little boys are so fun. You're going to have so much fun buying clothes and toys. I bet you just can't wait already! I am so happy for you! Now you will have to save a special spot on that tree for the new grandbaby boy! You might even have to end up adding some branches after all!
