hi.. i am also trying to lose weight.I also have temptation towards eating. But if you think of your health in the long run, i am sure you will think seriously about it.Firstly try to wake up early in the mornings and go for 15 minutes walk.Dont drink tea first.Have warm water with lemon juice and honey mixed in it,on empty stomach. Then you can have tea after an hour.Try to break up your meals in 5 slots.Dont eat everything in one go.This will put on more fats.Try to take light breakfast, include one fruit like banana as it helps t reduce weight.Breakfast shuold be between 8 to 8:30. dont sit at one place for a longer time. take small strolls in between.Have some snacks at 11 am like you can have boiled sprouts. This will make your stomach a bit full. Then take your full lunch like 2 phulkas without oil/ghee, one green vegetable, salad, dal and 1 small bowlof rice.Dont crave for more.ok? then eat some fruit in the evening at 5 pm.Dont take your dinner too late. You should finish off by 8:30 pm max. If you want to avoid heavy eating at nights then have a bowl full of raw veggies salad. This will reduce your craving for a full meal.Sleep early. Most importantly, even if you have no time for exercise, it is very important to devote at least some 1/2 hour for it.Else you will go on putting more weight. This will lead to other illnesses in the long run.So try to control now only. And yes.. avoid sweets also.Happy days to come to you..

Keep a food journal of everything you eat. This makes you more aware of what you eat. Exercise can be a quick walk, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, walking or biking instead of driving or riding the bus, a couple of jumping jacks in the morning anything at all that gets you moving. Take up a sport like swimming, raquetball tennis anything really.

I'm not saying this to be patronizing in anyway but, the only serious way to lose weight is to exercise regularly. I'm not going to make any reference to your weight but, if you are unhappy about going to a gym, perhaps you are self-concious, then you can buy some equipment for your home. I personally bought three machines from best direct and I have them in my flat. I have the Ab Lounge xl, the Gazelle Freestyle xl and the Totalgym xli. I exercise on these regularly about three times per week. I think it's far more enjoyable when you exercise at home. You can put an exercise dvd on, these generally come with the machines that you purchase, and you will be losing weight in no time. I don't know how much you eat on any given day but, perhaps it would be a good idea to stick to your main meals either two or three times per day. Good luck. Andrew

I started weight watchers over a year ago. It really is a lifestyle change not a diet....I should do a commercial! LOL But it teaches you healthy eating habits and as far as excersice I am a firm believer that you can try any diet out there and if you don't excercise you wont loose much.
Whatever you have to do make the time (just a gew minutes a day to start)for excercise. You can do weight watchers online as opposed to the meetings. I never liked the meetings myself but they work for some.
Good Luck

Well I cannot think of anything else but really to cut food intake and exercise. That is good for you and your pocket. As to time I guess there is always time for exercise. Study is not a valid excuse for you not to have exercise at all. The more you need exercise since exercise is said to stimulate you brains to work more efficiently since blood flow is hastened to flow more easily to the brain when exercising. Taking those slimming pills may be costly on your pocket too plus the fact that we cannot be assured if that would be good on your health in time. It may be the fastest way of losing weight but we really could not say its the healthiest. Cutting on food how to cut on those well it is really up to you, maybe you could come up with a declaration statement that will remind you that eating to much is not good for you that is why you should cut/avoid this kind of foods in your diet. There are so many creative ways to lose weight but in the end it is you who value your body that will determine who will choose what you want in yourself.

Maybe this trick will help you.
1. Brush your teeth and drink plenty of water before you eat.
2. Prefer to drink hot tea rather than cold or frozen drinks.
3. Hang your recent full body picture on your wall (present figure Vs. someone's slim body photo). That will always remind you to stick on your goal.
4. Change your eating habits. Measure the amount of food you eat.
5. Keep your self busy or you may check this site for calorie burn calculator:

6. Weigh yourself to check for your improvement.
7. Good luck.

When I want to loose some weight I don't deprive myself of certain foods, I just eat smaller portions. It works for me.

You should appreciate the fact that you have a good appetite. When we are sick and hospitalized we will loose our appetite and thats where we become skin and bones. We will look like scacrows...just imagine that. Now when we are healthy we should eat the fullest. We do not know when our good appetite is taken away from us. The bigs are beautiful and twinny tiny is no longer attractive unless your profession is a model.

Hi vimaal,
Yes you have time to do your exercises if you cut don on being on the computer, if you spend 3 hour then do two, the other one can be use for exercise, you have to make time if you want to lose weight and cut down on your eating or eat healthy food.

Try drinking atleast 2 glasses of water before you eat. It would make you feel full somehow before eating, so the tendency you will eat less. Discipline yourself also, eventhoufh you're too busy try to make way for an exercise habbit even 30 minutes will do.

As anyone who has ever tried to lose weight already knows - there is no easy fix. Everyone knows: eat less, move more. It's annoying, but true. I love to eat. I'd be perfectly happy munching on something all day long, but I know my metabolism so I know that I can't.
Whenever you get those cravings, just remember what you're trying to accomplish and how those foods will derail that.
And as for exercise, you're just going to have to make time. Any amount of exercise is better than nothing. But you can add to any organized exercise you do (such as walking, biking, etc) simple things such as taking the stairs instead of the elevator and whatnot.
Hope you succeed!
