I am a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. Taking up the degree by its major is my own personal choice. Nobody persuade me to took up the degree even my parents.
One reason I really opted to have a degree in Information Technology is today we are in the world of technology and if I get a degree in IT, I can easily find a job.
I took the degree without a personal computer in our house, that doesn't hinder me to finish the degree. I became more pro active in school because of my hindrances.
How about you? what made you choose your major.

I am a graduate of Bachelor of science in Civil Engineering. It was my parents' choice at first but soon I also realized that I should be taking this degree because Math is my favorite subject (before, lol). I passed the board exam. I got a job from the government agency and served for more than 6 years.

When I initially went to college, I majored in computer science and IT because I thought that was where the money is.
I soon realized that wasn't the field for me. I'm a techy, but only in the sense that I like electronic gadgets. I currently work in the electronic industry (semiconductors), but I changed my major to Human Resources (I have a Masters in it as well).
I'm not working in the industry I went to school for because I don't have any experience and because of that in today's economy, nobody will hire me.
I'm hoping that in the near future, that will all change because I would really like to work in the field I received my degrees in!

Well,my major is English. It is also my own choice.Because my English score was better than those of other subjects. At the beginning,I planned to choose a science major, but my math score was very low,os I gave up this opinion.I think English is also very important nowadays,it is also very useful. So my major is very good,at least I think so.

I studied economics because it's one of the few disciplines that I understood without having to memorize everything. Sure, I memorize formulas as well but it just made sense to me like trigonometry makes sense to a mathematician. I was also able to apply general concepts to real life, which is a plus for me. Since graduation, I haven't really used my major though. Sometimes I think I should have chosen a more useful course, but that's in the past now.

I picked my major in Information System, because like you, I know that IT is in big demand. I am not crazy about it, and I finished with regular GPA. It is interesting enough, but if I can go back in time, I would pick a minor along with IS, like maybe literature or communication :-) Hoping success for you in your career ...

I chose Criminal Justice because law enforcement is area that I love. I actually started out majoring in computer programming, but after about the first year and a half, I realized that it just wasn't for me. I realized that I would be doing that sort of thing for the rest of my life and I knew that I would end up becoming bored with the career. Criminal Justice was the only other thing I wanted to major in.
Aside from the whole boredom thing, another reason I chose Criminal Justice as my major was that even when I was a lot younger, law enforcement was literally always my highest scoring area on stuff like aptitude tests. You could not find a single one that did not have it as my #1 highest ranking area. I love helping and feeling like I'm protecting people. So it was only a natural choice.

I am majoring in IT, with my main focus on web design.
I chose my major for 2 main reasons.
IT is a broad field and is ever growing last but not least it's something i've always been interested in but never really knew much about. I have always had computer smarts so i felt this was a good field to persue.

i graduated bachelor of arts in psychology, i chose my course because there is not much of a major math subject in it!hahaha well, that's just part of the reasons..hehe second is because there are only few courses available in my school, i graduated from university of the philippines in the visayas, cebu campus, and we have only around 6 or 7 courses available... and for most of them, they have calculus and higher maths which i would not want to take!!hahaa i would have wanted to take up mass communications but my sister told me that psychology is better..ahhhh..hehehe i learned to love my course anyway.. like loved it so much when i graduated.. so not much of a problem..

I am doing a bachelor in computer science, I choice that degree was because I always have liked computers and I know it is very important, and i will be able to get a job in any part of the world, you know every person has to use a computer and every business need of computers to keep their business running, after I start my degree I found that maybe it is not I was looking for, well I do love computer technology but I am not doing well at math, and my degree got lots of math, I think I would have liked something with just programming language, I am really good at it so I would have not trouble studying it all the day, when I started my degree I didn't have a computer eihter and it was really hard because I was getting a lot of homework and I wouldn't do it, right now I am thinking about change my major and go for other relate to information technology.

I have a degree of Bachelor of Science major in Hotel and Restaurant
Management. This wasn't actually my first choice since I prefer
communication arts more. But I was a bit scared in going into college
so I applied for HRM in UST together with my 2 friends. Unfortunately,
things turned otherwise and I was the only one who passed the entrance
exam. My parents wants me to study in UST so I decided to go on with
the program. The courses are actually fun and my classmates were so nice.
Another surprising thing happened, I graduated cumlaude so I was so happy.
It seems that fate led me to HRM.

i am an engineer and i have completed my engineering in mechanical. i always had a aim to be professional and i did it and my parents had never forced me to any studies and i did on my own which ever i liked. i think every person should have some degree in his hands as to be literate and to get a good job which inturn provides us a better living and status. and now a days getting job is really difficult and how much ever you study is not enough and there is too much of competetion.
studies will always help us in life and show us a way for success.

I think the main reason would be it's because I'm interested in it. I took up computer engineering because it's my interest and so far I am enjoying it. Also because I believe that if you like what you are doing, you will be successful in it.
