Do you love your grandchildren more then your children ?

I don't have any grandchildren, but I think it seems like that to kids sometimes, because grandparents can spoil the kids and send them back to mom and dad. They don't have the responsibility of raising them in the same way, so it may seem the love is greater, but I can't believe that it is.

I have seen this many times. I feel that my grandmother loved her grandchildren more then her children maybe she thought they were a disappointment to her I don't know. I am not a grandparent but I feel this can go for other family members as well sometimes a aunt or uncle can love a child more then their own.

I admit sometimes I do. I have 5 grandchildren. Sometimes I have to bite my tongue when I learn how my children are treating them. Then again I do get a little sadistic fun when my kids learn the problems of parenting. It is like payback. Ha!

Hi sam... I Love my grandsons because they are my grandsons and they are my daughters sons...I can't say I Love them "more" than my daughter or son..because I Love my daughter and son very much...They are very special to me... Sometimes I wonder if some grandparents say this because their relationship with their own children isn't very good...

My daughter is my only child. I was divorced when she was 3 months old. She is a single mother so I have one grandaughter. My daugther, grandaughter and I live with my mother. I love my grandaugther like if she was my own child. My grandaugther's father is not involved, is the nice way to say it, so I was with my grandaughter when she was born.

Many times ,people love their grandchildren more then their children.because that time,their children are old enough and have their own things to do,so many times the grandparents are stayed with their grandchildren,of couse,they have good realations.

lol I could never love my Grandchildren more than I do my children. I love them differently but not more. My children will always be number one with me.

I love my grandchildren and I'd be nothing less than devasted without them but there is no greater love than the love of your own children in my opinion. Without my daughter I would have never had my wonderful grandchildren.

i love them dearly & am very proud to have them but i do not love them more than my sons. they are mine & i love them dearly to.

No, I don't love my only grandchild more but I have more time to enjoy them. When I was young, with my kids, I was working and had a lot more time away from them and more stress. Also, I was still learning about raising kids (no one gives lessons on that, you know). So, now I have time and experience and I can sit back and truly enjoy my time with her. It's just the way it is!! And it's wonderful!!!

Hi there samtaylorskykierajen At this very moment in time I really can't see how that would be possible but then my kids are only 3, 5 and 7 and I can't imagine loving anything more than I do them, but as they get older and become adults and have kids of their own they are no longer dependant on you and their love also moves over from you to their own family. So I can see how this could be true that you could love your grandchildren more than your own children.

It is actually not love more but more on the idea that their grandkids needs more care than their offspring. well my mother she has now 5 grandsons and it is not that she loves us less but her priority is the need of her grandsons, the logic behind is, they need more care than us.

Actually now a days I see my parents being really close to my son and they really love him and it is the same from my husband side also.They have so much fun with him and if he is not doing well in some way they are very much worried. Regards
