I love the non-stick coating. There is so much better in cleaning wise.. It is an easy wipe up for me. The food sticks less on these type of pots vs the regular cooking pots. What do you prefer and like better? What works for you?

Cast iron is the best cookware, IMHO. It distributes heat evenly, and lasts forever if it's taken care of properly. When cast iron is kept seasoned properly, the surface is practically non-stick. And you get trace elements of iron in the food, and most people can use more iron in their diet anyway.

I have some cast iron cookware that I use mainly when we are camping or cooking outdoors. My husband has joked that if I buy any more of it to put in the camper, he's going to have to get a heavier license for it!

Yes, I see cast iron as the older version of the non stick pans that we use today. My grandmother has a pot as this. I used it before, and I do love the way it makes pancakes..

I prefer pans without non-stick coating. I have the stainless steel waterless cookware. Most of the non-stick ones are aluminum and I don't like to use it.

Hi Cream97! I too love non-stick coating utensils as it is better thatn the normal one. I prefer bcoz the sticking is less compared to normal one. For cleaning also it is easy. For frying fish and chicken non stick is good as it does not stick to the pot. Happy posting and have a nice day.

We only have non stick pans in our kitchen. In my home country, we do use the old pots. They're not non stick pans. It's hard to clean them :D

Yes, it is very hard to clean the regular pans that are not non stick.. It can be tiresome when the food gets stuck on the pans..

I love my nonstick pans. But I do find that if I soak any pan for about 5 minutes in hot soapy water it will come clean. So when starting my dishes I will make sure any that need it will start soaking first while I wash the others. Then the pots and pans are ready to be washed with ease.

the regular.my family always wrecks the teflon, and i'm not that entirely sure they're that safe anyway with what i've heard about fumes from them.if something gets stuck,i just soak them and it comes right off.

At the moment, I have non-stick pans, but I would love to get a set of cast iron pots and pans and some stainless steel ones too. Of course I would need a big kitchen to go with that. hehe

Im using the regular cooking pots and would like to try the non-stick one,coz the regular one is not easy to be cleaned and waste of cooking oil and fire~even though the price for non-stick one is twice or more than the regular one,I think it's worth buying.lol

well as far as i m concerned, i will prefer non-sticking coating.its easy to handle and it saves your time while cleaning it up.and you also save your oil as they don't need much of oil and thus they can help in controlling cholesterol as well. they are dear but with all the benefits and long life they have they are a good one time investment with long life usage.

Either or for me. Non-stick does have it's advantages though. I think it saves you money because you're not having to buy spray coatings in some cases to stop food from stick to your pots and pans. And, they are easier to clean up so it saves time as well. However, it's not something that I definitely have to have. I can live with regular pots and pans.

I prefer non stick pans for frying pans. I don't think they make non stick pots. I know some people like cast iron, but they are too hard to clean, especially if something burns, of course they probably last much longer. I have to replace my frying pans every couple of years, because the non stick coating starts to scrape off after a while.

Yes, that is when I get rid of mines too. They say that is when the pot is becoming mo good anymore. I have pots that are non stick. I bought them in a cookware set.. I do have frying pans too that are non stick..

Non stick for when I'm making my famous grilled cheese or fried eggs. I have some regular pots for cooking with and I don't mind a little elbow grease to clean them.

I even hate to tell you this , but they are saying that non-stick coating may be leaking into the foods we cook in those pans. They are recommending stainless steel or cast iron pans and casseroles. It's similar to the warnings they have now about reheating things in plastic containers (even microwaveable plastics). I still have a few non-stick pans and use them. I think they are recommending getting rid of pans where the non-stick coating is starting to peel off.

Yes, I agree with the media too. I tend to get rid of pots that the coating is leaking off of too. Thanks for the warning!
