Hi Everyone! I just responded to a friend's topic and this got me thinking. And also I had a fabulous dinner outing with my parents & bro last weekend and it was always been his treat...that's one thing great being the youngest:). He likes to explore new eatery places and has been talking for days about it.
It was our first time through recommendations from my bros' clients and it was crowded, popular for its local cuisines. We waited for awhile before we were seated and didn't know what was special on the menu. So me & bro took a stroll and surveyed the place with intention to get a better dinner seats but was actually observing what other customers were having..yeah..I know it was rude to have done that. And goshhhh! This people really know how to enjoy eating and some brought their favorite wine and tea. Some was even in their wheel chair, walking sticks and elderly couples accompanied by their children & families. I think some must had some complications of strokes or heart ailments..just assuming:)
We waited about 45 mins before we were served and even after 9pm, they were still people coming to the place. We indeed enjoyed the Braised pork leg with sea cucumber & steamed fish with their special gravy, fried rice, fried noodles with meat & egg gravy and stir fry mixed vege with lotus & almond flakes.
Did the dishes make you hungry...lol.
This is the typical scenario that most people here go through especially in my family. Have fun and worry later!
What do you usually go through especially with your family or friends? Do you enjoy the fun of eating first and not really thinking of health consequences?
Or are you a person who is very particular of details/health conscious esp. pertaining to health? And this you will take it as a treat for a special occasion?
Thank you for sharing.

That is a very good question my friend, and I have never really thought about eating to stay healthy as compared to eating for fun,I know me and my fiance try to eat three meals a day to keep our bodies healthy and give them the nutrition they need to function, but I think there have been times where I have been really bored so I decided to snack on chips or something for fun, especially in the past when I could not find anything else to do.

Hi, thank you for thinking so. It is hard to resist when in company of love ones and esp. among those who loves to eat, what's more fun than enjoying food whenever we can.And hardly get to think straight too and everyone turn to food for comfort whether in celebrations, mourning, boredoom, happy times whatever! It is so confusing on what is healthy nowadays as some food is considered good for us and then after some time it's claimed to be harmful instead.
Cheers and happy posting!

Hi Desierra, how have you been? Haven't heard from you for some time.
Yup, those dishes you described are some of our favorites too, especially the braised pork leg - tender and tasty. It must have been one of the restaurant's specialties.
We don't eat these everyday, maybe once a month, so I think it's okay. I love good food; so while I can, I will eat all the food I enjoy; just in case one day, I can only take vegetables and fruits, and no more meats!

Hi Bee, I am doing ok, thank you, just been busy with work and hardly have the time to be in here. Hope you are doing fine and having fun .
Yes that is the restaurant specialty, in Klang Utama. We really had a good time enjoying the food, plate squeeky clean but embarassingly messy table.
I am looking forward to another food escapade again and for that I will have to make time too..:)
Cheers and happy posting!

hi desuerra I think when I go out to eat its for fun
but as I am a diabetic I must sortof think of my health
'too as if I dont, I will get ill with high blood
sugar and thats not good for my body. I also enjoy going out and having really great food. I have fun but still try not to
mess up my blood sugar either.

I will have to say both. I eat because I want to be healthier and I also enjoy eating. I have really regained my love of food lately and am finally at a healthy weight. I now try not to overdo it as I don't want to get any bigger and am pretty happy at my current size.
I would like to say I balance a healthy appetite with a real love of food and enjoy most things in moderation. I naturally veer towards things that are fairly healthy, and as a vegetarian I eat plenty of fruit and vegetables. I don't worry too much about what I eat I just make sure I vary what I eat to ensure I get a range of nutrients from my food.

i will say both. i eat because i want to be healthier and i enjoy eating what i love and i take it as fun. but the stomach well i don't say it is on the fun part but i try not to overdo or in this case over eat anything that i enjoy because excess of anything is bad and i try to take care of my apatite. and if it is an occasion then there is an exception and i will try to eat more till there is a limit of it. so, i am not that health conscious and not too much of an eater.

i don't know why i don't like to eat specially if i am busy, i don't want to eat if i am not hungry. most of the time i only because my stomach need it, sometimes i forgot to eat. if human can stay healthy without meal maybe i would prefer not to eat. i think eating is a waste of time. i hope human can live long without eating so that i will no longer eat anymore. my friends always remind me to eat on proper time but i always refused to eat.

Eating is a combination of fun and health. If one were jsut eating for health,we would be missing out on a lot of tasty foods and then life would be no fun. Not every thing tasty is good and not every thing good is tasty.

Unfortunately i eat whatever is put in front of me. Seafood, Meat, Salads, whatever looks good and tastes good. I even Escargo and cavier once on a cruise, they were disgusting but i ate it anyway cause i'm crazy like that. The better side is that i have a huge tolerance so i stay skinny anyway. But for the nutrition factor i tried eating healthy one time and it just wasn't that interesting to me because of all the other foods that i still craved from eating whatever i wanted. I am even a college student and have taken nutrition class and realized that everything is good for you in one way but not good for you in another way so you would really have to study what your eating to make sure your getting the right balance of stuff your body needs. The problem is, is that i don't have time to care about that kind of stuff and am not that dedicated to find the right balance of foods to make the perfect diet in my life.

have got to do is to be caution about what you eat , for exemple
there is some food that you can prepare wich give you the fun in test
that you need and also keep your body safe , more then safe it helps
it to be protected from lots of ills, I enjoy my food and I keep my self
healthy , what could be better ??
